At the core of every spirit, there lies a Creed. Spirits grow stronger when their human Keepers embody that ideal.

Unfortunately for Kris Green, his spirit is a pumpkin and his Creed is deranged.

Attending a university for spirit Keepers, Kris hopes to get a handle on his new life with a jack-o’-lantern growing out of his neck. Things only get more complicated, however, when his best friend enters the contest to become the Chosen One. With an ancient spirit threatening to attack everything he holds dear, Kris won’t let himself sit on the sidelines. He joins the fight as his buddy’s sidekick, praying he can find a way to contribute with his… pumpkin abilities.

On top of all that, Kris can’t seem to get away from the rival Chosen One’s sidekick, Amy. On the battlefield, in the classroom, and even at the mini-golf course, he keeps bumping into the prickly woman and her icy statue spirit. Yet, as enemy forces close around them, Kris will have to come to terms with his pumpkin, his past, and Amy too–if he wants to survive.
