Description
As one man ascends to absolute power, a nation teeters on the brink of total anarchy.
In a stunning new thriller, brilliant infectious diseases specialist Hope Allerd, M.D., is thrust into the cauldron of post-presidential election politics that will determine the balance of power in the United States for the next one thousand years. It’s a story ripped from the headlines. After a contentious Presidential election, an ultra-conservative group seeks to overthrow the government and establish a dictatorship—rule by one man.
As Hope investigates, she learns that the cunning and mercurial rogue Army General Benjamin Armstrong plans to decapitate the leadership of the United States and establish himself as President for Life.
Can Hope expose the plot before General Armstrong succeeds in plunging the most powerful nation on the planet into a nightmare scenario—a country no longer ruled by laws but by the whims of one man backed by an evil cabal?
Advance Praise
Lethal Hope is much more than a run-of-the-mill suspense thriller. It takes a critical look at realistic socio-political issues and encourages us to examine adverse political situations while at the same time entertaining us with its pulsating story. If you're a fan of political thrillers, I'm sure you'll love this one. —Readers’ Favorite (5 stars)

This was a fantastic job in writing a strong thriller, it had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed getting itno this world. The overall story made sense and was engaged with what was going on. Robert Thornton wrote this well and left me wanting more.

Fantastic fast paced book. Grabbed me from the first page. Loving the character of Hope. Looking forward to the next installment.

I totally love books on infectious diseases but I love them a little less thanks to the reality that was COVID.
However, this book is more of a political read. The author cleverly weaves a story that feels as though it increases in mystery with each chapter.
Pretty gripping.

The title, Lethal Hope, is part tribute to the heroine of this new political thriller, Hope Allerd MD. It looks as though this may not be the first tale featuring Allerd, as she seems to have been caught up in earlier critical moments of American history, notably that of the Covid crisis.
She has to put aside her scrubs and stethoscope fast with this one. As assassins are sent to kill her, and they succeed in taking out her body guards.
It's the EVQ, she tells her partner Clive (when I googled that, I got something about Mercedes cars).
Heads up. The President tells Hope that Armstrong, a highly charismatic senator with a strong following, may be out to get her. She is told to tail him on his city tours, even Armstrong shows an interest in recruiting her. With possibly some personal interest. Could her marriage with Clive be in trouble?
This is a USA that only seems to need the tiniest of sparks to foment the kind of unrest that could lead to civil war. Meanwhile, hervpartmerbos off, chasing some highly dangerous East European operatives who may be about to provide Armstrong with a secret weapon of mass destruction.
This is a seat-on-the-edge thriller where danger is only ever a millimeter away ftpm either Hope or her husband. Can the genius hacking skills of Hope's brother keep pace before America falls to a coup?
And do yHope and Clive readlly know what they are up against Band who their réal enemies are ?
The intrigué is certain uncomfortably close to the bone. And the next in the series is in its way..
