This story grabbed my attention right away. I disliked how the main character's husband spoke to her but I appreciated how she didn't give up on her dreams despite the hardships she faced. Thanks to NetGLley for the ARC.

Skylar, a hopeful designer in New York, faces a pivotal moment when she leaves her toxic job. As she navigates troublesome clients and a hard-drinking boss, her marriage strains under the weight of her ambitions.

At twenty-eight, Skylar celebrates her first anniversary with Neil, but struggles to balance his demands with her career aspirations. After quitting her intolerable job, she joins a prominent designer's firm, only to find her husband growing distant.

Under her new boss Andrew's wing, Skylar thrives in the NYC design scene, yet soon realizes his obsession with fame and alcohol threatens both their careers. As she takes on clients like Matthew, grieving the loss of his fiancée, Skylar grapples with her own past traumas.

Caught between Andrew's vices and Neil's resentment, Skylar dreams of launching her own firm. Encouraged by Matthew's support, she takes the courageous step to start her own business. As Skylar's career flourishes, tensions with Neil escalate, leading to a revelation that will alter her life forever.

Through Skylar's journey, from humorous client encounters to inspiring lessons on success and love, readers are drawn into a story of resilience and transformation.

Loved it. Will recommend to others.
