Just a few days before prom, Bennett pulls off something he never imagined possible: his dream girl Sophie agrees to be his date. Moments afterward, however, he watches Sophie get abducted by aliens in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Faced with a dateless prom and likely kidnapping charges, Bennett does the only logical thing he can think of: he hitches a ride into outer space with an alien rock band to get her back. Nothing is ruining his chance at dancing with Sophie at prom.

Once the biggest rock gods in the galaxy, the Perfectly Reasonable have fallen from stardom to the one billion and sixteenth most popular group. Now they're hellbent on regaining popularity through a series of high-profile shows, which doesn't exactly expedite Bennett's rescue mission. Can he navigate foreign concert venues, an extraterrestiral reality show, and the band's outlandish egos to bring back his date in time for the big dance?
