This was an enjoyable book to read . I enjoyed finding out about the lives of the land girls . There was a mix of characters. Each character was interesting and different. The story was centred about Cornwall, with it's bleak moors and villages. There was enough of a story to keep me interested from the beginning to the end. Thank you for allowing me to read it and l do recommend that this book should be read and enjoyed.

Heartwarming tales of friendship and hope after a long, heartbreaking war set in a village in Cornwall. You will love these characters and the sweet tale of their new lives post war.

Family saga and wartime just brilliant

It was lovely to be back at Postbridge Farm where Joe and Violet & daughter Sarah Jane live. Also living on the farm are Tilly and Caroline, soon to be joined by new arrival Grace who knows how to make an entrance. Caroline is still missing Selina who has gone to Thornton Hall to care for her late sister Bella’s three children Peter, Jemima & Faith. Selina thinks that she just needs to concentrate on the children, could there be and extra friendship under her nose?
The Matriarch of the family Sheila Newton, who care for everyone in the village, more so with all the shortages she does what she can to help the needy. She manages through her village store where she can see who is/isn’t buying goods. Sheila’s gentleman friend Bernard Bailey would like for them to make their relationship more official but Sheila isn’t so sure, what will she decide?

I loved being back at the farm again, instantly recognisable character. Favourite was Sheila for her caring nature.
Look forward to the author’s next book.

Following the Cornish Girls throughout the war (and now beyond) has been such a lovely adventure and it’s been a blast getting to know these bunch of fantastic characters.

It’s hard not to get invested in their lives and this one was an unexpected gift! I thought the series might be over as we came to the end of the war with these girls, but we get a rare treat to follow up with them all after the events of the war have taken place. The men might be coming back, but rationing and the fall out is still raging.

I loved the loose ends getting beautifully wrapped up for our characters and their spirits are still strong despite cold and trying winters and the strain of keeping up old and new relationships. I flew through this book in two days and it was a lovely part of my day to catch up with these gals and see how they were all getting off after the war.

The latest installment in the Cornish Girls series gives the reader more of a chance to explore Selina's story. In a previous book, she left her role as a Land Girl to care for her sister's children, and this book gives an insight to her life. The storyline between Caroline and newcomer Grace is sensitively explored, and I really liked seeing more of Sheila's life in detail - she is wonderful constant character. This book did feel like a conclusion in many ways - if it turns out to be so, it would be a lovely end to a wonderful series.

Another amazing light read. Was lovely to read and see what is next for the characters.

Great writing

Although the war is over there is still rationing, power cuts, shortages with life only slowly moving to old normal. The Land Girls are still working Joe's farm although some have left and got married and there's a new girl in town - the lovely Grace, outspoken, from Liverpool and, err, of colour, something not that familiar in sleepy Cornwall. The story is about their lives moving on with pregnancy and birth being high on lists. Caroline still misses Selina but finds deep friendship with Grace (I love the meeting of the two with Carolines' ever so stickler parents), Tilly has a boyfriend, Joe and Violet still struggle to keep the farm going, Sheila, matriarch in a way, is opening up in a way she never dreamt, Selina is now looking after her late sister's children but struggling and so on. Descriptions of rural Cornwall spot on and the winter of '47 all to memorable. A cosy read with lots of sub-stories but all tied up neatly at the end. I have just loved this series and I do hope that more might be ahead of us. Sheila is a Mother, Grandmother, shop owner and involved in politics. However although a widow twice over Bernie asked her to marry him but she can’t decide. A get together of Land Girls, family and friends keeps happening but for what reason? Fantastic characters with a few dodgy ones along the way Thanks to Betty and her publisher And thanks to NetGalley

I have read one other book in this series, but it did not matter that I have not read the others. An enjoyable read on life with the land girls and the farming family. A good mix of characters and stories running through and seeing Selina adapt to bring up three children, which is not farm based adds another dynamic.

A good while away the day book.

I have thoroughly enjoyed following the Cornish girls and this was no exception. It was good to see the girls enjoying their lives a little more after the war although times were still difficult for them. This was a fascinating read of love, friendship and how women supported each other. This was a really good read.

Although this book by Betty walker is part of a series it can easily be read as a stand alone novel .
It takes us back to Postbridge Farm where Joe and Violet & daughter Sarah Jane live . What a lovely read full of likable characters.
