Description
Feliz cumpleaños! It's Dani's birthday. He should be excited, but he's nervous. Will his classmates come to his party or will they think the strange bright light that follows him everywhere is just too annoying? Dani wishes he could be like the other kids, but he realizes that he's perfect just the way he is. After all, when he was born, God decided that the world needed someone just like him.

Cheery digital art, characters of diverse skin tones, back matter about the history and current experience of Jewish life in Argentina and a Spanish/English glossary enhance this book. This selection is perfect to enhance activities focusing on Jewish life around the world today. A worthwhile choice for family reading time and Jewish children’s book collections. ― Suzanne Grossman, Children’s Book Committee, Bank Street College ― Association of Jewish Libraries, News and Reviews

This is the story of a Jewish boy in Argentina who has a light shining bright. This goes through his birthday and party. I’m sure there is a religious meaning to the “bright light,” but as a non-religious family, we didn’t catch that.
A Bright Night in Buenos Aires is about Dani, a boy who is followed by a glowing light. He is initially bothered by this, but realizes along the way that he can share his light with others. This is a sweet story about how things that make us different, also make us special.
