Description
My brother Chris first saw the sea when he was seven. From that moment, the sea was his passion. In 1959, at 38 he fulfilled his live long dream by sailing solo from Gibraltar to New York City on his 25 foot sloop, Tethys. Chris’ account of his solitary 84 day journey details the grueling shake down sail and the challenges and joys of solo passage. His insight into the spiritual and emotional struggle to prepare for the voyage, as well as the extreme nature of the trip are inspiring and uplifting.
Chris was lost in the Bermuda Triangle on January 13th, 1964 – pursuing his passion.
