Description
A
bombshell waitress who wants more. A former FBI agent who wants less … except
for her.
*This is a standalone novel in the FEARSOME Series.
Imogene Walsh has always been unapologetically confident and ruthlessly
opinionated with people, particularly men. No one is spared from her unfiltered
mouth, but it hasn’t seemed to deter Cooper MacKenzie. Although he is not the
clean-cut, businessman type she’s always thought she should pursue, Imogene is
drawn to the sexy outsider who is the hottest topic in town gossip, the fantasy
heartthrob women love to speculate about.
She has spent most of her life in the little town of Hera, NY, putting her
numerous forgettable relationships behind her and floundering in both her
professional and personal life. Work and men—neither have gone well for her.
Now it’s reached the point where she wants to stop playing it safe.
It may be time to live up to her tough reputation and take a chance on Cooper,
the only man who isn’t intimidated by Imogene’s brash personality. However, it
could be a thrilling ride that doesn't end well.

"I LOVED this book!" ~ The Autumn Review
"This whole series is beautiful with strong sensitive men and independent women. Each story covers a couple, each a standalone, and each one has the additional storyline of Lauren and Leo from beginning to end. This one is Cooper and Imogene, he's the burnout undercover FBI agent and she's the crafty small town waitress. He's been watching and yearning for her for over a year while she's nursing this hatred for all men and has this extremely sarcastic snarky personality. Cooper woos her in the most perfect ways and Imogene finally gets it. The relationship is tested after a major personal event in Cooper's family and Imogene sees the light. I'm pretty sure after each book I've said that one was my favorite but I can honestly say this one feels more like "the one." Cooper is the every man that every woman wants and Imogene's personality is more like me. Wonderful series and fantastic book, I wonder if we get more - maybe Cooper's brothers?”

I was gifted an ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start by saying I didn't know this was a series when I requested it from NetGalley. However, the author does a great job of giving just enough detail about the other characters that you like them but don't feel like you have missed their stories or feel like she is retelling them for the sake of the reader.
Imogene Walsh is stuck in limbo in her life in more ways than one. She and her best friend are working on starting a business together that they can't seem to get off the ground. They are both also working at her family's diner to make ends meet until they are able to get their business up and running. In addition to this limbo, she is in relationship limbo because her last boyfriend just up and leaves town without breaking up with her and she hates all men or more accurately thinks they are all "wankers." She lives in a small town with relatively no new comers and all of this together makes this strong character, sarcastic and funny and lovable at the same time.
Cooper MacKenzie moved to town about a year ago but it's taken Imogene that whole year to even have a decent conversation with him. She's convinced he fits into her "wanker" category and doesn't want anything to do with him. Cooper has his own issues. After 6 years in the FBI, Cooper left only to come back to complete a case in Hera. While undercover he also lands a job and when the case is finished he sticks around. Immediately he's taken with Imogene who doesn't give him the time of day. Not easily deterred, Cooper keeps trying and eventually gets Imogene's attention.
This book is very well written with lots of funny one liners while still managing to be serious. We understand the character's hang ups and flaws while still loving them both. Secondary characters are well developed enough that I liked them as well and will most likely go back to read the previous books in the series.
Faithful is like the other books in the series, it's a stand alone. This being the first book I've ever read by S.A. Wolfe, I was impressed. I enjoyed this story immensely and loved the fact that the Imogene was so strong while still being funny and having a heart of gold.
The plot is believable and isn't one of those stories with the dreaded "insta-love." These are two very real people living in a very real world.
I am a big fan of this series. The smal town and close knit group of friends makes this series like news about some old friends, very comfortable. It's a stand alone but I dare say, you'll want to read more.
Another great book from S.A. Wolfe.
I just love Cooper and Imogene, seriously she's all feisty and he's all hot and persistent. My favorites are still Jess and Carson but I really fell in love with these two as well. I loved that Cooper was not swayed from what he wanted, even though Imogene gave off a lot of sass, she was cruel, and just wanted nothing to do with men or even him. He still pursued her and didn't let up. They were rather adorable together and at every turn Copper had me majorly swooning.
But one thing that I found to be a bit odd was that when faced with things in his family he didn't tell Imogene. I sort of felt like that's something he would have done even with the back story of his family and everything.
But still it was a great read. I laugh, swooned, and really enjoyed the story and seeing more of the other characters.
Great work, I look forward to more S.A. Wolfe.
~~I was given an ARC from the author for an honest review.~~
~*~My Thoughts~*~
A 5 Star Rating I absolutely loved this book!! It's definitely my favorite of this series. Imogene I absolutely adore shes a complete smart a** that you can't help but love. I have to say I completely agreed with her throughout the book definitely a female character and no problem connecting to. Cooper is a big yes in my book he's completely sweet and doesn't take her crap which makes me love him all the more. All the characters are extremely well developed and this storyline was awesome. I'm definitely a huge fan of S. A. Wolfe forever and always.

Will also post on amazon on release day
Wow. I was very impressed with this book, I have not read the series, so this book is an easy stand alone book and it was wonderful. Usually I go for books that have a dual point o view but this book had only Imogene's point of view and thoughts. IT did have a lot of sex but nothing really graphic.
I would also classify it as new adult as the girls featured are in their mid twenties.
The book was really terrific. It ended wonderfully with a really nice epilogue on how everyone was doing and I really enjoyed reading about the close community and relationships between all these characters.
Its a really great story and its very engrossing. On you won't be able to put down.
Kindly provided with an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review......
5 "I really was pleasantly surprised by this story" Stars from me !!!
Wow, for my first S A Wolfe novel this baby delivered !!. This is Imogene and Cooper's story. Two so different and opposite individuals who just completely fit !!. Imogene was one hell of a strong leading lady and Cooper.......oh swoon. He just has a heart of gold (and is gorgeous) but by no mean's is he a push over !! Read it and see........
You will adore this tale of taking a chance (again) and it turning out to be the best decision of your life !!. Its witty, very well paced, it has moments of insight and overall I really enjoyed this read.

Review:
I really enjoyed both main characters of this book. Imogene is witty, outspoken, no nonsense attitude, hard working. She is a small town girl working at her family’s diner. Her life is sort of at a dead end – working two jobs and recently being dumped by her boyfriend so she is not interested in jumping into another man’s bed anytime soon. Imogene wants nothing to do with Cooper. She rather focuses on her dream business of designing jewelry.
Cooper is sexy, confident, former FBI agent and he has eyes for Imogene. He is weaving his way into Imogene’s life by surrounding himself with her friends. That’s pissed her off but Cooper is persistent. The chemistry between Imogene and Cooper is off the chart smoking hot so reading the banters and push and pull cat and mouse game was quite enjoyable. There are several LOL moments as well.
Then there is a plot and drama that brought them together or tear them apart but to keep this review spoiler free, we all have to just read it and find out.
This love story is cute, sexy, entertaining, and very heartwarming. FANTASTIC read! Can be read as standalone but I found out this book is part of a series so I have to check the other out.
Copy provided by NetGallery.
I loved this book. I haven't read the two previous ones from this saga-yet- but it is not necessary to follow the story. The two main characters are amazing. I want a Cooper in my life, definitely. And although I would have slapped Imogen in some moments, she is hilarious. Now, I can not wait to read the two first books and find out how the other couples fell in love.
This author is new to me and I’ll definitely be reading more of her books. This book is the third in a series but can be read as a standalone.
Imogene has lived in her small town all her life. She has a jewellery-making business with her best friend. She’s had a few unsatisfying relationships and the way the last one ended left her angry for nearly a year. Cooper, ex-FBI agent and Viking god, bears the brunt of her unhappiness.
Cooper comes from a large dysfunctional family and left a stressful, disillusioning job to start over in Hera. Imogene was also a big draw to stay in the town. However, he’s had no luck trying to soften her enough to ask her out on a date. Until one drunken evening, Imogene throws herself into his arms and kisses him. It’s only a small chink in her armour but it’s enough for him to turn up the heat and pursue her in earnest.
I really liked Imogene – she’s sassy, snarky, passionate and honest. Cooper has the patience of a saint to have waited so long for her. I loved how much he desired her and cared for her! He is wonderfully giving and loyal. Issues from his family life are eventually revealed, but not before it drives a wedge between Imogene and him. I loved the dynamics in their gang of friends and plan to read their stories in the series.
This novel was humorous, serious, and sexy, and brought a tear or two to my eye towards the end. Loved it!
LOVED this book! It's book 3 in the series but can be read as a standalone. I recommend reading the first 2 though because they're just awesome and you'll recognize some of the characters in this one. Imogene is a tough girl and Cooper is an ex-FBI agent who wants her. Super intense chemistry and I love S.A.'s real, raw writing! You can't go wrong with this series!
This book was incredibly surprising. Being new to S. A. Wolfe's writing, I did not know what to expect.
Imogene Walsh works as a waitress at her parent’s diner and runs a jewelry business with her best friend and roommate Lauren. She has spent most of her life in the small town of Hera, NY. Imogene has had major disasters with her relationships and has no intention of having a repeat of this failure. So how does she deal with Cooper MacKenzie, former FBI agent, who she has already written off as similar to the jerks she has dated but is drawn to him nonetheless?
Imogene is one of the strongest female characters I've read and good God she has a mouth on her. She is not afraid to speak her mind and go after what she wants. After a string of bad relationships and her struggling business she has had enough and decides to stop playing it safe.
Cooper is a man after my own heart. He is sweet, charming and downright swoon-worthy. He is probably the only man who is not put off by Imogene's brash personality. Also, it doesn’t hurt that he looks like a Greek God.
This book was funny, emotional and had a feel good that comes with it. S A. Wolfe has my love. Forever.
So I was instantly drawn into this book because of the description that was given of Imogen. She reminds me so much of me its actually scary. Hey quick wit and non filtered way of talking are definitely traits that I cary and don't hold back on at all. With that said I really enjoyed this book. Imogen was relatable and well Cooper was dreamy. But I loved that she started out as damaged in her own way and you see that he isn't as perfect as we think he is. He gets a grasp of whats damaged on him and he decides to take the right steps and have his own character development before he can feel like they can both be the best for each other. I loved it all and enjoyed it thoroughly! thank you for the opportunity to read this. P.S. i will be picking up the previous books!!!
Imogene Walsh has been let down by so many men she now protects herself with a feisty, brash, confrontational attitude, taking no prisoners! She works in her family’s restaurant but her dream is to work full time with her friend creating unique jewellery. At the moment they share a house and have a room to work in but they need to do lots more to be able to rely on it for their income. Maybe it is time to start taking a risk? Cooper MacKenzie has been coming into the diner for a year and he brings out the worst in Imogene. She’s attracted to him, but is so worried about it she’s fighting their attraction with every word that she utters, determined to drive him off. He’s a handsome, former FBI agent who really likes Imogene, keeping an eye on her but never making any moves - yet. Maybe the time for change is fast approaching? Should they take a chance on each other? Are the risks worth taking?
This was a funny, engaging read that I really enjoyed. It is a different, reticent love story with a great HEA type ending. I haven’t read the other books in the series and this still worked well and so I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who likes funny, dramatic “kcuffing” relationships and romances. (You’ll understand that if you read the story!)
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley too,
for letting me read an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Oh this book was so very good, this is one I will definitely read again.
The author was good at letting the story flow.
Really enjoyed this.
I want to preface this by saying that I don't read a lot of straight out romance novels, and I don't give out nearly as many five star ratings as I used to because I realized it was doing an injustice to the awesome authors that go above and beyond. In saying, this I can honestly say this book deserves, and has earned, this rating. It is well-written, and the characters are well developed and human. I fell into this book and could forget the real world existed for a while. I never got frustrated with Imogene for being so negative, even though I wanted her to see what she was doing to herself because I could see the pain she was in. I thoroughly loved this book! I loved how strong, yet weak, Imogene was (btw... I love the use of this old name), and I loved Cooper's persistence! I thought the way Cooper's family and their story was presented was real and heartbreaking. And I thought the traffic stopping scene was swoon worthy. Their story is one I will carry with me for a while!
Thank you, NetGalley, Sara and Victory Editing for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was a good read and I loved seeing these two characters eventually come together. It was wonderful seeing the man fight for a change because the woman was direct and shoots from the hip. She may have been scared, but she knew what she was worth. It was a great book for an afternoon read.
Even though this is Book #3 in the series, each book can be read as standalone. Faithful is a story fill with humor, romance, mystery, and much, much more. The storyline is great, and with interesting - likeable and believable characters, that make of this story, an automatic page turner.
If you are looking for a great book with a refreshing, and an amazing love story, this is the book for you.
I received an ARC from the Publisher via NetGalley.
ARC received via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first book of S.A. Wolfe and I started this series backwards but that does not take away how much I loved this book! Imogene and Coopers dance back and forth was kinda mesmerizing. Between her snark and his constant flirty comebacks, I was loving every minute of this book. The both of them were kinda the perfect blend I like to read about a couple. I can't wait to read the 1st and 2nd book in the series!
I loved this book, from the characters to the hold my breath story line and Cooper... oh Cooper. Imogene is the epitome of snark, I loved her. No holds barred. I am going to read the series also and this book will hit the reading list for my classes. The banter between these two is worth that and the story and what lies beneath is so subtle.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. It's a winner.
*3.5 stars*
I'll start by saying that this is a standalone in a series that I have not read the rest of, but to me it made no difference. The story wasn't hard to follow and I didn't feel like I was missing big pieces of a bigger picture.
Cooper is... dreamy. He's sexy and confident and persistent and adorable.
Imogene (good lord what a name) is a HOT MESS. She's hilarious. Her as a waitress at 12% had me rolling with laughter. She's the type of hot mess that isn't really annoying, she's endearing and adorkable.
Imogene and Cooper's story is a fun, quick read. New adventures, romance, taking chances. Could not put it down. Can be read as a standalone but you'll get more out of it if you read the first two books.
4.5 Stars. Cooper deserves an award for being so kcuffing patient with Imogene and her hang ups lol No, but seriously he was kind and generous. He waited. He forgave her poor attitude. He is everyone's dream guy! I loved this story because our hero saw past a very prickly heroine and found the love of his life even if he had to get over some stuff himself to figure it all out. The story is super cute and funny. It's sweet and genuine. It has a small town feel good vibe and it was just what I needed. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. Neither are Vs. They wear condoms.

This is my first book of this author, and now I know what I was missing !! The book had me completely in "aw" , their love was soo passionate and deep ! It brought me to tears! Imogene is so funny I had a great time reading it and I want to thank the author for sending it to me ! I want a guy like Cooper so persuasive and he didn't stop until he got her heart! Like Imogene said " I don't want a manageable containable love... I want it to explode, and I want everything that comes with it. " 🙌🏽😍💎 Imogene&Cooper forever 🔥
* Kindly received and ARC in exchange for an honest review*
It's one less star than the previous book. That is mainly because CARSON WASN'T THE MAIN HERO HERE!!! I know I'm being biased but I can't get over Carson. Cooper was nice but let me tell you he wasn't a Carson!!!!
"You don't want to take the easy way out with a DJ and let people shake their booties any which way they want?"
"Blood circulation is critical to my survival," I whisper to Cooper as I remove my hand from his and pick up utensils. "Oh. a knife." I twirl it in my hand.
"I have a surprise for you," he says, focusing only my eyes with renewed energy. "Really? That's the best you can do? Every guy says that in the morning."
Ok maybe some stuff aren't that happy to people who'll read my reviews but those were funny for me and I thought of sharing them.
Another part that drew me to this was how often the other characters made an appearance. It made me feel so nostalgic? I don't know it was cute seeing them again in their usual selves.
"It's not obvious to me," Jess adds, looking confused. "Nothing is obvious to you," Emma responds, patting Jess's hand. "You're are one of the most clueless women I have ever met when it comes to men. With the exception of Carson, that is."
"I wasn't very ... cautious," Jess stammers. "I was ..." "Oh stop," I say to her. "It's painful just reliving that whole thing with you and Carson. You were so kcuffing clueless about him. You had that thing with Dylan because your head is wired differently. No offence, I love you, but you missed every signal Carson was ending out. That whole summer should be labeled 'What Not To Do With Men,' so please, don't try to compare that to my situation."
JESS AND CARSON ALL THE WAY!!! Sorry again people.
Back to the story. Like I was saying in the previous review also, this book hell a lot funnier than the first one even though the romance wasn't as cute. Many scenes (without Imogene's sassy mouth also) made me laugh out loud. Specially the dance lessons. That was just too funny.
"Carson, I don't know what you're doing to Jessica over there, but it's not a waltz. You're swinging her around like she's a rag doll, and you;re crushing her hand and stepping on her feet. You're not a circus elephant, learning how to dance."
"Dylan?" Rafe barks as he walk over to Dylan and Emma. "What you're doing is not dancing. It's public molestation."
"Seriously, Dylan, with the way you're mauling Emma, I feel like I should beat you off her with a chair. This is a beautiful waltz. The dancers are supposed to glide across the room. Stop trying to tango or whatever you're doing there. You make this look like a shake-down scene from a Scorsese movie."
Those moments just summed up their relationship in the past two books pretty much :D You got to give it to Rafe. I would have loved to have him as my dance instructor.
All in all the book was a really fun read and an awesome continuation of this series. I felt the author had gotten better with her writing and I definitely enjoyed the book. Cooper was sweet and their moments were hot as hell. Wolfe sure didn't disappoint in that area for Cooper.
The epilogue was super sweet by the way.
I think this is my favorite in the series. Loved Imogene and Carson! Put a X FBI agent with a sassy waitress and what do you get? A fabulous book. There were times she was a bit mean but hey aren't we all. But their chemsitry pulled you in till you finished the book! Won't regret reading this book.
Faithful and Patient - that is the epitome of who Cooper is. Imogene wasn't the easiest to love - but through his faithfulness and patience - these two could find their way to forever.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
So many recommendations to read this book! I have to say all of my friends weren't wrong when they said this book was amazing!
Imogene is one of my favorite book characters; witty, prickly, and sarcastic, but gooey once you've melted the ice! A perfect NA romance for fans of laughing out loud and happily ever afters.
Finally a lead girl with attitude! That is what made me appreciate this book more. I'm glad the author didn't cross the line of making her just hateful.
Our lead guy was just amazing he was patient and adorable.
This is the type of books I love no instant love, the build up romance gives me chills.
Overall I love the writing style of the author and the feelings it brought when I read the book.
I was honestly hooked from the very first chapter; Imogene and Lauren's friendship was to die for. Actually, every relationship in that town was so beautifully portrayed. Familial love, friendship, and marriage... It was all very engaging to read about. I rooted for the seniors; everyone was hilarious. Jess and Carson were hilarious; especially at the end. Dylan was so funny he made me cry. Leo and Lauren were so friggin adorable. The scene where the high school girls were being lectured by Imogene was kcuffing hilarious.
Imogene is one of the very few protagonists that I adored. What with her 'kcuff it' attitude and the way she treats her customers when she's in a bad mood (but really, mostly always):
After I serve decaf coffee to everyone who asked for regular and regular to all those who asked for decaf and gave away free ice cream to all the kids whose parents said 'no sugar!'...
Yes, she had an attitude and was downright rude. But she honestly surprised me when I was halfway into the book, with her mature decisions and then when she latched on to her dream of getting married and making a family. She wasn't blinded by her love for Cooper, and for that I respected her endlessly. That is the kind of picture that should be portrayed in romance novels. Responsibility and maturity to go along with passionate love and adoration.
Cooper was so sweet and considerate. The way he pined after Imogene was so damn hot and just downright swoony. I couldn't with all his smart remarks and his gifts. I can't believe what he did to help with Lauren and Imogene's business. It was all so thoughtful and so friggin sweet. I can't even.
And I didn't let myself imagine how he looks like with glasses on, but that scene had me cracking up:
"When are we getting married?"
"I haven't planned past today."
"Fine. You're forcing me to bring out the big guns." Cooper removes his glasses from the inside of his T-shirt collar and slides them on.
"Yep. That'll do it."
I loved it when Imogene drove all the way to Brooklyn to see him and his mother. That scene with Fiona made me tear up really bad. I was on the verge of sobbing when she asked her to take that photo album.
Overall, this was an incredibly well-written novel that doesn't only deal with how Imogene found her one true love, but also herself. I personally saw this novel as a coming-of-age, so that was a really pleasant surprise. I loved the whole squad, the parents, the grandparents, the seniors, the young couples, Cooper's fam, and the babies. Will definitely have to check out the previous books if they're anywhere near as good as this one.
This is the third book in the Fearsome series and to me it is the best one yet. I thought that the chemistry between Cooper and Imogene was magnetic, fun, and romantic. The snarky words out of Imogen's mouth every time Cooper came into the picture made me laugh and wonder what was gong to happen next. I loved the way that their relationship evolved and became what it was; it shows the reader the importance of not giving up. Thank you NetGalley and S.A. Wolfe for allowing me to read and give an honest review of this book.
Cooper!! What is there not to love? Oh, and Imogene!! I loved her and how she is outspoken! I can honestly say these two really will keep you turning the pages. I love how Cooper does not let her push him away and is not phased by her mouth! Great read and I can't wait to read more!
This is the first time reading a book by this author. Halfway through I checked her other books and added them to my to read pile. I thought that Imogene was a funny heroine, introspective, a supportive friend and someone who trying her best to succeed. Cooper was a sweetheart, a bit flawed and although self aware I think he was too rigid. The story had a lot of elements, comedy, romance, sexual chemistry, thoughtful and heartbreaking moments.
Captivating from beginning to end! I could not put this book down! This had everything that you look for in a romance novel! The characters, the development of the story was fantastic. A definite must read in my opinion. Well done S. A. Wolfe!
I absolutely love this series! What I love the most is that each book is a standalone. I was so excited to see it was available to request this title! The cover is astounding, and I feel like she is staring straight into my soul! I could never get enough of Lauren and Imogene! They are what friendship goals should be modeled after! Ohh Cooper! Thanks for being my latest book boyfriend!!!
I highly recommend this book and series to everyone who loves Contemporary and New Adult romance novels! Even though these are NOT anywhere close to my favorite genres!
I fell in love with Cooper and Imogene. These quick witted, playful, fun loving singles meet at a time when Cooper is ready for forever and Imogene thought she had found forever. Cooper is new to the small town Imogene lives and works in but once meeting Imogene he hopes he can find his forever with her. Imogene puts up one hell of a fight to keep Cooper at arms length but eventually finds it in her heart to open up to the possibility of love. This is a must read and one that will keep you turning the pages hoping for a happily ever after.
A big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I didn't notice that this was number three in a series,. It reads great as a stand alone. I truly enjoyed this book. It felt real. The characters don't just jump into bed, they actually get to know each other and spend some quality time together before having sex!!! They aren't perfect, and have issues, and heartache.. Imogene is a strong outspoken crazy woman, and Cooper understands her and likes her anyway. Fun read. I think most romance readers would like this.
One word to sum up S. A. Wolfe’s book Faithful - Delightful! Imogene is a snarky, bad attitude woman I can relate to. Imogene can’t help but be a bad waitress, she hates the job and she hates her customers, especially Cooper. While Cooper is trying his best to woo her, Imogene throws enough one liners that any man should be down. But not Cooper. And he helps her home after a little too much “fun”, Imogene begins to find herself changing her opinion of the man she refers to as Viking. As Imogene’s heart begins to thaw, just a little she decides being friends may not be enough.
Go ahead, dive in to Faithfull, you will catch yourself laughing out loud.
