Heartfelt appreciation is extended to the author, to the illustrator, to the publisher (Nimbus Publishing), and to NetGalley. Thank you for granting access to a digital ARC of this incredible title in exchange for an honest critique. It was an absolute pleasure to review.
A beautiful book that is narrated in a very-well rhyming and flowing poem that celebrates being Black and empowers Black children, especially boys.
Thanks to its layers and general appeal, it is empowering for everyone.
The art style is fresh. As for the selected role models/examples/successful-influential Black people, I do not feel qualified to speak about them, though, objectively, it is diverse selection.
The book feels like an energy ball.
