He’s summering at a seaside manor.
Star-crossed doesn’t even begin to cover it.
When Bea returns to her Massachusetts hometown after a devastating breakup in Rome, all she wants is to save up some money, find a new job, and finally move to Boston. But when she arrives at her childhood home—the garage apartment of a beach estate where her father is the groundskeeper—she realizes that there’s something else she wants. Or rather, someone.
Nick is the grown son of the ultra-rich Hamilton family, the people who employ Bea’s father. Bea grew up nursing a major crush on the handsome boy next door, but never saying two words to him. When Bea unexpectedly finds herself at the Hamilton family’s annual masquerade ball, however, she discovers that Nick is very interested in getting to know her as a grown up, brilliant knockout.
Despite their vast and varied differences—not to mention the implicit disapproval of their friends and family—Bea and Nick won’t be kept away from each other. For the first time, Bea feels sexy, respected, and taken care of...in every way imaginable and then some. Their passionate fling heats up at the summer wears on. But will the sudden appearance of an ex-flame leave Bea feeling burned?

Wow, what a great book from debut author Anna Thorne! The Season Between is like an erotic version of the film Sabrina, with twists and turns that kept me happily entertained. The two primary characters, graphic artist Bea Taylor, and successful businessman Nick Hamilton, have amazing yet complicated chemistry and their unique relationship was fun to be a part of. Overall, a fast-paced summer romance with great characters and an engaging plot.
Really cute story! I enjoyed this one very much. I was a little concerned at the beginning since the author throws the characters into bed together so quickly and I am not usually a big fan of that method but it was handled well and there was enough other elements to the story to keep things interesting. I didn't feel an intense chemistry between the characters until about 75% through the book but again I think that it was because there was really zero build up time between Nick and Bea. That aside, I really loved the story and watching Nick and Bea figure out how they felt and how to be together despite their very different upbringings. The side characters added a nice touch to many aspects of the book without taking too much attention away from the main characters. Although it was wrapped up a tad too quickly for my liking I did love the end and the way that Nick found his way back to Bea. Very sweet and romantic read with the perfect amount of fun and steam.
After a brutal break up, Bea head home to Massachusetts. All she wants is to get together enough money to move to Boston. But when she returns to her childhood home, the estate where her father is the groundskeeper, Bea runs into prodigal son Nick Hamilton. The wealthy and oh so well bred Hamilton’s own the estate where her father works. Bea has had a crush on Nick for as long as she can remember and when she meets up with him at his family’s annual masquerade ball, sparks fly. But is is possible that someone like Nick could ever really have serious feeling for Bea?
I loved this story of the haves and have nots. Sparkling romantic fun!
