What makes a good speech? Better yet, what makes an effective speech?

A speech can inform, entertain, educate. But effective speeches inspire an audience to act and build a sense of community. The climate crisis is a pressing issue, and the ability to successfully communicate about it is crucial to bring people together to make meaningful change.

Discover how to stand up, speak your mind, and encourage your audience past climate silence. By analyzing speeches and how they worked, social anthropologist and professional speechwriter Rune Kier Nielsen breaks down nine common flaws of climate rhetoric and how to fix them in this thorough, engaging guide to speechwriting toward climate action.

Speaking on Climate by Rune Kier Nielsen is a compelling and practical guide for anyone passionate about using the power of words to drive meaningful climate actions. I knew as soon as he talked about ethos, pathos, and logos in the introduction that he knew what he was talking about, and he doesn't disappoint!

Speaking on Climate combines theory and practice to provide the reader with the tools needed to craft impactful speeches that inspire and motivate others to act in support of climate justice. It covers topics like persuasion, the role of emotion, framing your world view, and storytelling.

The great thing about Speaking on Climate is it's not doom and gloom. Nielsen even provides case studies showing previous successes to provide a positive outlook. He uses successful speeches to show how the techniques work.

There aren't really any negatives. It is focused on speech writing, but almost all of it can be used in conversation and digitally. Obviously, it is a call to act and fight the climate crisis. So, nay-sayers wouldn't like it much.

I'm a sustainable living blogger, and when I saw Speaking on Climate, I really hoped it wouldn't disappoint. It's so well written that I can't wait to tell everyone about it! This is an essential read for anyone looking to have the power of words to drive meaningful change in the fight against the climate crisis. Its practical advice, engaging content, and focus on positive action make it a valuable resource for aspiring speakers and activists alike. Five Stars!
