Description
Sexy, fast, fun and funny, this happily-ever-after ending is perfect for fans of the Murderbot novels and the Wayfairers series
After a few weeks trapped on board a spaceship with Ada (and, oh look, there’s only one bed), Rian has to admit that maybe Ada’s rebels have a point. The nanobots poised to be unleashed on Earth are infected with malware that will ultimately leave the residents of Earth in a worse position than they’re in now. But is it too late?
Ada and Rian arrive on Earth with little time to spare. Together, they have to break into a high-security facility and infect the nanobots with a counter-virus before they’re released in order to give Earth a fighting chance. And if Ada happens to notice some great tech laying around in this high-security facility she shouldn’t have access to and then happens to steal a bunch of it when Rian’s not looking? Well, he knew who she was before he teamed up with her. And if he wants it back, he’s going to have to catch her first.
With countless twists and turns, this enemies-to-lovers slow-burn and high-tension romance plays on a Sherlock and Moriarity character dynamic rooted in science fiction with a heavy romance and mystery angle.

This was a great conclusion to this trilogy! I love the banter between Rian and Ada and the chemistry between them is fantastic!
This series is also very timely. The villain is an egotistical billionaire who has the ability to save the world but only if he gets money, fame, and power. (Sound like someone we know?) Earth is dying and a release of ecosystem-cleaning nanobots is the answer. As long as Ada Lamar can reprogram them in time.
I love heist stories that have a Robin Hood type plot. But instead of stealing money, we’re stealing the future of the planet.
This is a fun, witty, exhilarating ride to the finish line!

Thank you to DAW and NetGalley for the ARC of this novella. I could not wait for this to be available on NetGalley so I could read the end of this and this did not disappoint. Ada is such a BAMF and every move she makes is a revelation and amazing for her thinking so far ahead. To hear more about Jane Irwin as well and see how Ada and Rian do work together to save the world was phenomenal. I want this to be collected together or have people read these one after the other to see what new things can be seen in a re-read. Having to go to sleep and not finish this book was so hard. I highly recommend reading this and the previous in the series since it is so good!!!!! 5 stars.

I received this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Last Chance to Save the World is a conclusion of the Chaotic Orbits Series.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Heist Space Opera with a little bit of romance.
The ending of the book is very frustrating, it is very much an open-ended ending.

Thanks to Netgalley and DAW for an e-arc of Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis.
I have loved this series since I picked up Full Speed to a Crash Landing and have been waiting for every book since - very impatiently I might add. When I saw this was available it was an instant request - I needed to know what happened after book two.
In this book we find Ada and Rian working together to attempt to fix the nanobots that are being released into Earth’s water to clean the planet up. The problem is the trillionaire who made them, he wants more money and nothing comes for free so they are on a mission to fix the code so another greedy ass trillionaire doesn’t get more and screws over Earth. Can they trust each other enough for the mission to succeed?
Yet again, Revis created a brilliant heist scenario and I loved all the mistrust and calculations that occur in order for everything to come to fruition.
I’m begging you all to read this entire series if you’re into Sci-fi and a good heist, with lots of twists and surprises.
I’m. Begging. You. To. Read. This.
Just please. Do it so I can talk to others about this series!!!!

A smartass trilogy with a hilarious and endearing romance that dedicates 2/3 of its page count to roasting Elon Musk? Sign me up now and forever! I don't know if there are plans to continue this series--this felt pretty conclusive--but I completely adored each book, I recommend them to everyone, and I will absolutely read more should Beth Revis write more. LAST CHANCE TO SAVE THE WORLD is slightly less funny than the previous installments, but more heartfelt and dramatic, and stands as a perfect and satisfying conclusion to Ada and Rian's story. 5 stars with jazz hands.

As good as the other books - with lots of twists and turns, and lots of Rian and Ada dancing around each other’s plans. It was great and after all of this story I just have one issue:
What do you mean this is the conclusion? It can’t be! There HAS to be more.
Note: ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was so excited for this one and it was such a fun book. This was a great closing to this triology, and Beth’s writing is both comforting, funny, exhilirating, engrossing, and wonderful. I don’t know if Beth is capable of writing a bad book. This one is phenominal and I am so grateful I was able to read the eARC in advance for free! This is my voluntary feedback.

What a fantastic conclusion. This whole series was a fun and exciting ride and I was not ready for it to end! I'm always impressed by the layers of reveals these stories have. I think about these two characters all the time and this part offered a lot more insight into Ada. I know this is the end, but I would love more books in this series. I do wish we had more of a HEA, but maybe that just means this could be revisited later.
Excited to check out Beth Revis's backlist and looking forward to any future publications.

I loved reading this book! I've loved this series since the beginning, so I was excited to see how things would wrap up. The pieces were built in the first 2 stories, and now they're coming together, from the relaitonship that Ada and Rian have built, to that bit about the telephone, I loved it!
First off, I have to say, that epigraph made me laugh until I cried, because I just found it so hilarious! Yeah, this book definitely has the ineffable attitude of a Canadian goose, but in our current climate, yeah, it was good to have that laugh!
Honestly, this whole book was tense. That their timeline was incredibly tight, that the stakes were so high, yeah, that kept the pages turning, I had to know how, or if they'd succeed, and if they did, and if they did, well, Rian still planned on taking Ada in.
I loved how the story unfolded, as the parts that were specific to this story, this place, came together, as well as what had happened in the previous books. It was so clever, and it was so satisfying to see how it all worked out!
There is a pretty easy comparison we can make from the bad guy, the billionaire behind the plan to alter the nanobots, with a certain figure in real life, who buys the company after it's shown it can be successful, and then tote it's genius as his own, when in fact, he just bought it. He's not a genius, he just has money. So here's hoping that victories for the common person against said real life figure, can happen.
This is the end of the series, but I'm hoping that this isn't the last time that we see these characters. The whole plot with the nanobots is wrapped up, but I want to spend more time with these characters! I mean, their whole dynamic where he's the government, and she's a for-hire agent of chaos, yeah, I would love to see more of it! It's so entertaining, and with the way things ended, there's definitely more stories about them to be told.
Loved reading this book, and I can't wait to read more by Beth Revis!

A fun conclusion to the Chaotic Orbit trilogy. The first book will always be my favorite, I think, but this is a strong addition. We finally have all of our questions answered, but the door is still open to see more of Ada and Rain. Personally, I hope this isn't the end for them.
Thank you DAW and Netgalley for the ARC! :)

This was my favorite of the 3 books. I love the relationship between Rian and Ada. I love Ada. This was so much fun and felt more complex than a book under 200 pages has any right to be. I really hope we get more with these characters.

5 whole stars. A fitting end to this intriguing and sassy novella trilogy. A whirlwind of: secrets revealed, deceptions uncovered, and Ada trying to figure out how quickly she can get at that catering table. A thoughtful exhibition of power, corruption, and the jobs that two different sides are willing to undertake for the same goal - save Sol-Earth.
The nanobots are set to be released and the countdown initiated. Will Ada and Rian find their way into Fetor tower or will Earth be doomed to be under the thumb of a maniacal billionaire (trillionaire!?!) for the rest of its life? Who is Ada working for? And what in the world (pun intended) will they do with this growing tension between them? The banter makes this series a cut above.
Thank you to DAW, Netgalley, and author Beth Revis for access to the ARC of this novella.

I'm sad that this novella trilogy is now over. I LOOOOVED this one so much. Quick, fun, and absolutely enthralling. Beth Revis had some fun with the writing and keeping secrets from readers and did it so well. Again, I am so sad this over and I don't have access to Ada and Rian anymore.

I don't care how much money it takes, I hold you personally responsible for getting me more books in this series. Loved. Exquisite. Ate it up.

First I'd like to thank DAW and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review 💚
Second I'd like to thank Beth Revis for writing this trilogy.
Third I'd like to say that this heisty space trilogy has by a highlight of my reading ever since I picked up the first book.
Ada and Rian' batner, Ada's brilliance and toughness, Rian's hotness and all the situations they get into made me smile while reading so many times.
I love the messaging behind this trilogy, in fact I love everything about it. 💚

My God, I wish this wasn't the last book in the trilogy, I wish this series went on forever!
Revis has created such an interesting world, a story equally fun and smart. With easy language, short chapters, and incredibly quick story development, the reader is sucked into this world immediately. There are many twists and turns, the tensions are higher than ever, and this third and final part of the trilogy has hotter moments and more nail-biting scenes than the first two. Ada has become one of my all-time favorite characters and I loved seeing her outsmart everyone once again. The tension between Rian and her was palpable, and I desperately need Revis to write something else with them in it. The whole trilogy was truly an amazing, immersive journey, and I cannot recommend it enough! There's not much else I could say without spoiling parts of the entire storyline, but know that I enjoyed this immensely.
Highly recommend! This is a trilogy that can easily be read in a single day, a story that will leave you wanting more while also making you sit back and think about the state of the world.

I loved this conclusion to the story of Ada and Rian, but I hope it's not the last we see of them. The pace was quick, the action was exciting, and the ending was delightful. Will absolutely be looking for more form Beth Revis.

I have really enjoyed this short series, Chaotic Orbits by Beth Revis . An adventurous scifi romance with a heist atmosphere, this final novella in the trilogy really sticks the landing. As before, this is mainly a first person narrative from Ada, the female protagonist, with a few memos by Rian, the male protagonist here and there to cover his perspective.
This is a truly wonderful book in a truly wonderful series and it gets an enthusiastic recommendation from me for all scifi readers!
Thanks to NetGalley and DAW for an eARC in advance of publication

Last Chance to Save the World is the final installment of the Chaotic Orbits trilogy, but I hope that this will not be the last time Revis writes about her feisty, mouthy thief-with-a-heart-of-gold in a spaceship Ada Lamarr.
Picking up after the conclusion of Ada's successful charity gala heist, this novella sees Ada and Rian White returning to Earth to stop the plot of the trillionaire technocrat Strom Fetor. Law-abiding and preserving Rian failed to take advantage of their one bed situation aboard Ada's ship, but he has to prepare himself for another rom-com trope once they land planetside: meeting Ada's mother. And he needs to assist Ada in completing her mission while also still preventing her from evading arrest. Her crime? Well, she did technically kidnap Rian. Even if he does enjoy her company.
But returning to Earth reveals how deep and vast Ada's connections truly are.
While not the strongest entry of the trilogy, I did still enjoy accompanying Ada and Rian on this final outing. They are a cat and mouse who both love the game that they are playing -- even if sometimes they may swap roles of which one of them is hunting and which one of them is caught.
Also, Fetor's character hits a bit different now given current events. I hope Beth Revis is going around and yelling "Called it!" every chance she gets. When she's done that though, I hope she'll write some more adventures for Ada.

Another fun scifi romp, full of clever people being exceedingly full of secrets and always plotting even when they love each other. Delightful.

I was so excited to receive this as an eARC from NetGalley. I adore this series, its a thrilling sci-fi full of heists, split into 3 bitesize novellas. This is marketed as a satisfying conclusion, I disagree only because I need more of Ada and Rian. Revis has a way of writing that keeps you engaged and eager to know what will happen next. Ada is a fantastic MC as she is powerful, independent and smart. We get a wrap up of the events of the first two books which is executed perfectly. I cannot recommend this series enough, its the perfect blend of sci-fi, romance and fun. Do yourself a favour, read this series.

This trilogy was one of the best discoveries I made in 2024, and I’m truly sad that it has come to an end. I loved all the action, and once again, Ada and her brilliant mind kept me completely hooked. However, I wish we had seen more of Ada and Rian’s dynamic. As a hopeless romantic, I was really hoping Rian would leave the government, admit his feelings, and join Ada on her next adventure!
I also really enjoyed how Ada’s mom played such a significant role in the story—I loved their relationship and how it unfolded throughout the book.
I can’t help but wish there was more. I’m not ready to say goodbye to this world!

Thanks to DAW for letting me have all three in the series early. I really enjoyed this conclusion (hopefully only for now!) of the trilogy. While I would've enjoyed seeing more of Rian and Ada's time between Rigel-Earth and Earth, I do see the very deliberate set up for each book and for its length and mystery that Beth Revis set up. If we got more info, it would've been harder and harder for us to not see Ada's plans. I love the twist as to who her employer is and in all, Ada is a picture perfect unreliable narrator and I love her for it! Rian's little found documents peppered through this one and the series are most excellent additions. I strongly hope we get more Rian and Ada adventures down the line!

I received an advanced copy of this book for review. This is my own opinion.
The bad guy in this series is a really rich man contracted by the government (his company is, he doesn’t do the work) to create nanobots to clean up earth to make it safer again.
Hmm. Beth, I hope you’re not seeing into the future with this one because it feels a little bit prescient.
Anyway, it picks up not long after the second left off, with Ada and Rian planning to rewrite the nanobots because of course they’re actually going to do something insidious. Quelle surprise. 🤨 Ada and Rian both expect the other to betray them, despite their growing attraction and feelings.
I loved how this series wrapped up, all the twists weren’t unexpected at this point, but I definitely didn’t see where they were going! Also I never expected to be sad over freaking PIGEONS, but here we are. This novella was unexpectedly poignant and relevant, and just really dang good. This series is fully cemented as a favorite now.
Thanks to Netgalley and DAW for the arc! This was a lot of fun.

A bite sized space heist with full sized world building that manages to comment on injustice while still having fun.
This was a fulfilling end to the series. We finally get to the event that has been hinted at, debated, and carefully planned out in previous books. As Ada and Rian have gotten closer to the launch they’ve grown closer to each other. Their relationship has a real “tragically star-crossed” feel to it which fits right into the general sense of impending doom you get throughout, but where this book really stands out to me is how the discussions about climate injustice and class divides have gone from theoretical to right in your face. We’re not just hearing about what Ada is fighting for, we’re with her as she walks through the city past faces and livelihoods that will be directly impacted if she fails. It’s very effective to narrow the scope and up the stakes.
There’s enough secrets kept from the reader to keep us guessing, but not so much that the ending feels obvious. It did seem a little bit too easy to me, but was still satisfying. There’s banter, there’s stress, and there’s still a little time to make out. It’s entertaining while still being interesting.
I’ve been looking forward to this third installment and it didn’t disappoint. I can see myself rereading in the future and would recommend it for anyone looking for quick, enjoyable, easy to read but not shallow sci-fi.

A delightful conclusion to the trilogy. While it did not end in an hea, the promise of one is still there. I absolutely love these clever characters who are constantly trying to out maneuver one another while simultaneously being obsessed with each other. The banter and underlying attraction against the high stakes plot keeps everything fun and fast paced. The social commentary on wealth, environmental issues, and the moral dilemma of believing in the law/government/system is emphasized but doesn't bash the reader over the head. The author trusts you to pick up on the truths that are represented in our own society. The characters are the real star of the show though.

This series is for you if you like: space heists, sharp and funny leading women, and secret organizations that want to save the world.
This was at the top of my ARC want list, and it delivered so hard. Ada and Rian are back again for the final installment, trying to install a counter-virus in order to protect Earth from the malicious nanobots. They meet Ada’s mom, and run into Strom Fetor again (as you might expect).
We get some extra world (universe) building in this book, specific to Earth. It is seamlessly integrated, relevant to the plot and character development, and masterfully executed. The banter and tension between Ada and Rian is impeccable - smart, hilarious, sexy.
The heist-style action is also incredibly enjoyable. The plot has a satisfying wrap-up that I don’t think will leave readers disappointed.
I think this is supposed to be the finale, but I would read so much more about this universe, with Ada and Rian leading the narrative. Thank you so much to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of my dreams!!!

I am giggling and kicking my feet! I SINCERELY love Ada and Rian, and oh my GOODNESS I loved the twists and turns in this series! I can’t believe it’s over, and I would LOVE to get more from this world…
I honestly did not see the little twists coming, though I was really trying to parse out what Ada’s plans were. She is amazingly brilliant, and so witty. Her banter with Rian was TOP NOTCH.
I cannot wait to have all three of these books on my shelf, and I am absolutely going to be telling everyone I can about these!
Thank you so much for allowing me to read all the ARCs!

Such a fun conclusion to this novella trilogy! I loved reading this, the snark!! The world building and the plot twists! This is a delightful read, thanks for letting me review this advanced copy!

Last Chance to Save the World 🌍 was another fun book by Beth Revis. The only drawback is the books need to be longer!

. A satisfying end to a fun romantic space opera series. The protagonists still don't quite trust each other, with reason, but they are all in to save Earth from a greedy, narcissistic billionaire (sound familiar?). The sexual chemistry is there, the emotional connection is there, and the twisty plot delivers. A fun and fast-pasted read. This is the end of the trilogy, but I hope that this is not the last we see of Ada and Rian. Thank you to DAW and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review
Last Chance to Save the World by Beth Revis is a dual first person-POV romantic sci-fi conclusion of the Chaotic Orbits novella trilogy. After kidnapping Rian, Ada is ready to finish her plan to give Earth a fighting chance and bring her and Rian closer together.
Spoilers ahead:
To me, the ending does not follow the romance genre expectations, so I would label this as a romantic sci-fi rather than a sci-fi romance. Speculative Romance can play a lot more with Romance structure than other Romance subgenres, but I think for something to be called a Romance, the two characters have to be shown to be together in a relationship and about to begin their happily ever after and that isn’t quite what happens. I liked the ending, I thought it fit the story and it is by no means tragic or even unhappy, it’s just a few degrees off of my personal expectations for a genre that is so strict when it comes to finales.
I really liked the use of emails and notices and how Rian has little footnotes that reveal his true thoughts amidst all the formal language. I prefer Romance and romantic fiction to be multi-POV because I want to know how every party feels about the other(s), so every time we got those little glimpses into Rian’s inner world, I was quite pleased. It also shows off his personality in new ways that Ada’s POV doesn’t quite capture purely through dialogue and her interpretations of his actions.
As a finale to the overall story, we do get a culmination of everything that the first and second books were leading up to along with a few surprises. We meet someone in Ada’s family and get a bit more worldbuilding in relation to Rigel-Earth. If Beth Revis ever wanted to revisit this universe, I would love a whole book set on Rigel-Earth and the relationship between it and Earth as Earth keeps deteriorating.
I would recommend this to fans of romantic sci-fi and readers of sci-fi heists

I absolutely adore this series. Revis threaded all sorts of little nuggets that came to fruition here. It’s a wonderfully delightful romp across the universe, asking ethical questions and adding tons of fun. I thought this series has been so smart and compulsively readable. I think it’s been such a delight from start to finish.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great finale! I loved the tension between Ada and Rian as the dynamic between them is just so amazing. I loved how this wrapped everything up neatly and yet left one small opening for more. I would love to know more about how this world got to be the way it is and could see more books in this world. I really enjoyed the fast pace of this book and how it ties to other parts of the first two books.
