Advance Praise

"I was enthralled by how much love exists within this collection without it being romantic. It’s the earthy, timeless love that comes with taking in our surroundings, remembering who we are, and thinking of those around us. In a world where it is easy to be an individual, Drill’s writing reminds us of what we owe not just to ourselves, but to the larger picture of humanity. Shuck off your constant need for individuality and just let yourself feel, these poems seem to shout."

- Elizabeth Zender, Independent Book Review

"The Lost World by Celia Drill is a poetic exploration of memory, loss, and the intricate connections between humanity and nature. With lyrical prose and a contemplative structure, the book invites readers to embark on a journey through the layers of a deeply personal and universal experience in the search for meaning within life’s fleeting moments. The narrative is divided into thematic sections, each immersing the reader in a vivid interplay of imagery and reflection. Drill’s ability to evoke emotions through her depictions of natural and imagined landscapes is extraordinary."

- Readers' Favorite

"This lyrical poetry collection is rich with evocative imagery and emotional depth. Drill’s descriptions are imaginative and unique, from Birds of Paradise as “mouths of wisdom” to a hummingbird as a “lone angel circling.” Drill turns the tiniest detail—like the “blue of unveiled secrets” of robins’ eggs—into a beautiful and mysterious meditation."
