I love the ability to see what's coming up in the next season and finding books that wouldn't have been on my radar. The best part of the book buzz edition is the fact that you discover new authors and get to read an excerpt of their work before committing to reading the entire book.
LOVE THIS-- will come in handy when recommending books to customers.
What a great idea this is! Buzz Books have put together a complete package of fiction and non-fiction highlights for the coming season. A blurb, first chapter and tons of links it's great for work and for a reader. I added 7 titles straight to my TBR list!
Loved this book. Now I know which new books are must haves.
An excellent source for upcoming releases. It makes a reader's heart yearn that there aren't more hours in the day to spend with all the excellent titles featured here. I will be returning to Buzz Books and NetGalley for future reads in the upcoming days, weeks and months for these extraordinary titles.
I love the snippets of what is to come! Thank you for sharing with us. I can't wait to read many of the books!!
I'm a huge fan of Buzz Books as it always reveals exciting new titles to me, and this year is no different as it seems I have a lot of interesting books to look forward to!
I always look forward to these Buzz Books, both personally and professionally. I have added several titles to my reading list and found a title that I think will be great for the book club I run at the library. Buzz Books are great.
It is always great to have a deeper knowledge of books to come. I like this Buzz books series as it gives me ideas what to expect in the coming months what will be of my interest. Thanks for sharing :)
Love these buzz books! Thanks for adding significantly to my 2015 reading list. :)
I always love the Buzz Books editions! I spotted quite a few books of interest, and may be requesting some later. Thank you!
Great way to get a taster of all the new books coming out! Then you can identify what you would buy to read yourself. Invaluable.
I love these shor previews of books to come. Reading a few pages from the books that are soon to be released gives me a great taste of what is coming soon, and let's me know what I will be interested in purchasing in the coming months.
Love knowing what's coming out soon I even received an ARC of one of these books. Awesome.
This is a great resource for booksellers. Even if we do not go on to fully read all the books sampled here we have a taste for them which helps in making recommendations. I was unfamiliar with quite a few of these authors before hand (not only the debut ones) and now my tbr pile has grown quite lot.
This was such a great resource! Amazing way to plan my reading and identifying books of interest for review! There was a book from almost every genre, I also like that there's a summary, an except quite rich (almost 20 pages of book), a little author's biography and all contacts and data on the book's publication.
I just started reading the book excerpts and the first three I read were enticing and have moved to my "must read in 2015 list". I definitely wanted to keep reading....
There are at least 12 more previews I will be reading. I am looking forward to these spring releases and this "buzz books" edition is so complete and well-written that I will use this tool every season.
It’s looking like a great summer for reading, lots of wonderful new books coming!
I love the Buzz Books, and this edition was no exception. I found several books to add to my must-read list, including some I might not be inclined to pick up in the bookstore. Thanks to Buzz Books, I'm branching out to genres I don't normally read.
I love this type of anthology that gives a preview of both fiction and non fiction books. There are 40 books to peruse. A nice mix, familiar authors and some new authors I've never read before. I always look for the Buzz Books, twice a year. They also have a young adult preview available also.
I always enjoy this collection of excerpts from books being published in the near future. I discover so many great authors and this installment of Buzz Books 2015 was no different!
I look forward to these previews each season. Love the peek at what is coming up next. Helps me plan what I want to buy from myself and for gifts. Keep Buzz Books coming.
Loved this! It's added so many books to my lists to check out though - I already have too many books to get through this year as it was, noooo!
There are some great previews in this and I'm excited to read quite a few books in it.
This is the second Buzz Books that I've gotten and I absolutely love them. I find so many new titles and authors that I want to read. The excerpts and the chances at galleys are wonderful. Please keep these coming!
Fantastic peek at spring/summer books, I appreciated the tantalizing look at so many great titles!
I'm super-psyched about Erika Swyler's THE BOOK OF SPECULATION and Leslie Parry's THE CHURCH OF MARVELS; I almost died of happiness when I landed review copies of each (via NetGalley and directly from the publisher, respectively). I'm also excited to read Graeme Cameron's NORMAL (as I write this, I'm 13% in) and Sarai Walker's DIETLAND. I don't read a ton of nonfiction these days, but I love Maria Bello and LOVE IS LOVE sounds awesome.
By the by, a hearty THANK YOU for making Buzz Books so user-friendly and easy to navigate. Not only is there a clickable TOC, but the excerpts are chock full of handy links and contact info.
I always enjoy the Buzz Books. Always. There are some great books on the horizon of the near future and they look bright. Looking forward to Scott Simon's new book.
Loved this preview of some of Spring/Summer 2015's best books!
I really enjoy these excerpts - great way to look at frontlist titles without investing a ton of time into books that may be far outside your wheelhouse.
Really enjoy these samplers as they introduce me to authors I probably never would have found on my own! While I'm more of an Urban Fantasy and YA reader, there were several samples in this collection that left me wanting more! Here are a few of my favorites:
The Dog Master by W. Bruce Cameron - A story about an injured she-wolf trying to protect her newborn pups and a lone human who decides to help her. The story hooked me the minute we heard from the she-wolf's point of view!
A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley - Sara has always felt a bit of an outsider, partly because she has Asperger's Syndrome. I liked her immediately, and was intrigued by the idea of an encrypted diary from an exiled Jacobite in France.
The Children's Crusade by Ann Packer - This isn't my usual type of read at all, but something about the story drew me in and left me wanting to learn more about this family.
The Hand That Feeds You by A.J. Rich - Not really into mysteries or thrillers lately, but there are dogs involved and I want to know more! For instance, are the dogs guilty or innocent bystanders? And what's up with Morgan's mysterious fiance?
Dietland by Sarai Walker - Plum is a large woman who has basically put her life on hold because of her weight. Convinced that her "real" life will start after she loses weight, she schedules surgery and starts buying clothes for her new & improved self. Then she notices someone following her, and her life takes an unexpected turn. Sounds intriguing, doesn't it?
Have you read this sampler yet? Which titles are you most looking forward to?
Towards the end of this 500-page behemoth sampler, I began to resent authors for writing well and forcing me to add their novels to my bulging to-read list. There were more than a dozen novels that looked promising, based on reading the first few opening chapters.
Love these books, gives you a whole reading list in one book.
Very well-curated set of samples, with nice introductions and summary information. I just filled my wish list!
Of key interest included The Water Knife, War of the Encyclopaedists, Kitchens of the Great Midwest, and numerous others.
I can't wait to begin recommending these! SO good. I love when they release these excerpts and make it possible.
I super love and appreciate the Buzz Books. They are a great way to read a sample of some of the most hyped books, and some books that don't always get a lot of press, to determine if the whole book is one you would want to dedicate time and money to. Also, some of the book excerpts I know are for books that I am not interested in, but certain customers of mine would love them. It's a great tool for both the store and for me personally. Four stars for the excellent combination of big books, little known books and non-fiction books.
My thanks to NetGalley and Publishers Lunch BUZZ BOOKS for an eArc copy of this book to read and review.
I always love getting the inside scoop about upcoming reads. Well organized and easy to use.
As always, it's both delightful and useful to have this sampling of excellent and high-visibility books for the season. Buzz Books collections help me identify titles that would fit into the purview of my online journal, introduce me to authors I may not already know, allow me to help spread the word about interesting new books, and last but definitely not least make for very enjoyable reading!
