Description

Afghanistan, August 2021.  As America's military withdrawal leaves the country in chaos, Delta Force Operator Martin Devereaux stays behind.  His mission was to protect the family of his former Afghan translator, but when they're brutally murdered by ISIS-K, Devereaux is left with nothing but a burning thirst for revenge.

Now a man on the run, Devereaux is pursued by the Taliban, ISIS-K, and even his own government who considers him a rogue agent.  His only goal: track down the ISIS-K leader responsible for the slaughter and make him pay.

But in the heart of a collapsing war zone, Devereaux faces a harsh reality: to exact his vengeance, he must cross lines he never thought he would.  With enemies at every turn, and the truth about who he can trust becoming increasingly unclear, Devereaux's hunt for retribution becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse - and a fight for his own soul.

The Hunter is a dark, pulse-pounding thriller that examines the cost of revenge, the facility of morality, and the price of redemption in a world where justice can be as dangerous as the enemies we fight.

Great thriller with on stop action.
Martin Devereaux a trained black ops agent who is on his way to rescue and evacuate his Afghan asset and his
family, in the waning days of the American presence in Afghanistan, arrives to find his orders changed and he is told to only evacuate the asset and to leave his family behind. Martin refuses and proceeds with his evac plan. What happens when he arrives there and is confronted with advancing Taliban troops, sets him on a course of revenge against the Afghan mastermind behind the raid, Khalid Hassan.
But along the way, Devereaux becomes the hunted, by his own country.
Absolutely riveting suspense and enthralling intrigue.
Really really good read.
Hoping for the next installment.
