What a very enjoyable read. I'm not really sure enjoyable is the correct word. As it's shocking and brutal. Although it is also a book which is seen from the eyes of courageous woman. It centres around Smita who has just got married to her Australian husband Pravin. It highlights the cultural practices of arranged marriages and how this can lead to bad circumstances. I enjoyed this book so much. You see how much Smita grows stronger as a person. How her prowess and strength lead to her becoming a advocate of domestic violence. It makes you think about all the injustice and as a woman all the hardships faced by women who are in very vulnerable situations. I don't want to go into the description to much as I wouldn't want to spoil the book for anyone. It is action packed from the beginning though and very inspirational. It looks at justice and vengeance and how this sometimes appears hand in hand. I cannot imagine anyone not liking this book. It makes an impact on you and I'm sure this is a book I will not forget reading. I feel a privilege to have read this.
