ABOUT THE BOOK
Nora has ants all figured out -- now she just has to try to understand her human peers!
Nora loves science, and intends to become the youngest person published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. While the other girls at school are busy crowding around a cell phone to see videos of Emma's cat, Precious Cupcake, Nora is studiously observing her ant farm and planning the perfect experiments to write about in her paper.
But when her colony of six-legged research subjects incites squirms and grimaces during show-and-tell, Nora is stumped: why does everyone "ooh" at cats but go "ick!" over ants? If only Nora understood her human peers as well as she understands her ants! Thankfully, she has her supportive scientest parents, her goofy best friends, including Brody and Mason, and a thought-provoking persuasive speech project to put it all into (scientifically accurate) perspective for her.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
CLAUDIA MILLS is the author of over 50 books for young readers. She does not personally keep an ant farm, but she does have a cat, Snickers, with whom she curls up on her couch at home in Boulder, Colorado, drinking hot chocolate and writing.
