Description

A board book about sibling adventures, squabbles, and reconnection, following three different pairs of sisters

There’s something special about sisters. When sisters play together, magic happens! A sister is a friend for life, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be disagreements sometimes. Follow three cute sets of sisters as they play and explore together, argue, and ultimately reconnect. For anyone with girls who need a little nudge to get along, Sisters Are Sisters Forever is a sweet reminder that arguments happen, but sincere apologies can mend any rift. With simple text from author Brooke Jorden and gentle illustrations by Sejung Kim, this adorable board book is the perfect gift for siblings.

I loved this simple yet true book about sisters. Well written!! Perfect for young children to reflect on their own relationships. It opens a discussion about friendship as well.

I thought this picture book was super cute. The illustrations are lovely (especially the one where the building blocks magically become a castle) and the message is very nice. I have six sisters, and it's good for children's books to acknowledge how normal it is to argue and fight with siblings. I also liked the choice to follow three sets of sisters, which allows for some diversity so that more girls can see themselves reflected in the pages.

[Note: This is a combined review for Sisters are Sisters Forever AND Brothers are Brothers Forever.}

These charming board books are such a delightful way to celebrate the unique bond siblings share while also exploring the ups and downs of sisterhood and brotherhood.

It’s totally normal for young siblings to have little disagreements—they’re still figuring out how to manage their emotions, share with others, and communicate effectively. So, these squabbles? They’re actually opportunities for growth, helping kids develop social skills and learn how to resolve conflicts in positive ways.

What makes these books extra special is how they gently emphasize the importance of apologizing after a fight. Once that heartfelt “I’m sorry” is said, siblings can get back to all the fun and adventures they love sharing together!

The writing is simple and accessible for young children, and the illustrations are relatable and heartwarming. Both books carry a similar vibe, making them a perfect pair for any family with boys and girls.

If you’re navigating sibling spats or just want to emphasize the value of an apology, these books are a fantastic addition to your child’s bookshelf.

Thank you @netgalley and @familiusbooks for copies of these book, which I have read and reviewed voluntarily.

This was an absolutely adorable board book. As someone that babysits quite a lot - coincidentally also a set of sisters - I can definitely see this as something they would love to go through and read with me. The illustrations are beautifully done and the characters were diverse, which I appreciated greatly.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this as an ARC.

Sisters Are Sisters Forever is a sweet and beautifully illustrated book that perfectly captures the special bond between sisters. I love how the story includes a diverse group of little girls, making it relatable for many families. The charming pictures and simple yet meaningful storyline make it a great read for young children, especially for my little one as she prepares to welcome a new sister. It’s a heartwarming and reassuring book that celebrates sisterhood in a way kids can easily understand.
Thank you to Netgalley for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Sisters Are Sisters Forever! A wonderful book about the connections between sisters. It describes what it is like to be a sister and does so alongside beautiful pictures. As a mom of 3 girls, sisterhood is such an important part of our family bond. When my ARC was delivered, I sat down with my youngest little girl of 8 years old, and we read this together. I loved hearing her say, "they do things my sisters and I do!". This children's book is well written, wonderfully illustrated and has a great message.

Thank you NetGalley and Brooke Jordan for the ARC opportunity.

So many Sister Stories

Sisters can be complicated and this book simplifies the range of things together and against one another. A solid message in the priority of always making up and that sisters are sisters forever.

This book would make a great read to add to your routine if you may be going from one son to more children (expecting, fostering, adopting, etc.). This could also support divided custody and encourage a foundation for the child.

The illustrations were very accurate to a relationship with sisters: all of the experiences and emotions.

I received a copy of this book from Brooke Jorden and Familius. I am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions are my own.
