Description

The Witches of Dorkdom
While spending New Year’s Eve in her Nana’s cluttered house, twelve-year old Starr convinces her best friends to make New Year’s Reversolutions instead of the boring New Year’s Resolutions which no one ever keeps anyway. Each girl writes down the opposite of what she would normally resolve to do: Dark, Gothic Rave will suck up to all her teachers and join the cheerleading squad. A+ student Cap will strive to be get Cs and will eat all the junk food she wants. And Starr will get some fashion sense and fall in love with her worst enemy, Roy Baxter. To make it official, they sign and date the list of reversolutions, then hide it inside one of Nana’s dusty old scrapbooks for safekeeping. But the hiding place is more than just a keep-sake, it’s magical. When the girls wake up the next morning, Starr and her friends are caught up in a whirlwind of magic, cheerleading, snacking and dreams of Roy Baxter. If Starr doesn’t figure out a solution soon, the three just might stay that way.

About the author:

Nora England lives in a very cold climate with three wonderful, warm and fluffy cats. She enjoys reading, writing, but not arithmetic. Though she is mildly dyslexic, she is convinced she was born to write. She was always a bad student, in every sense of the word. Nora loves to bake chocolate chip cookies and killer brownies. Someday she plans to live full time at Disneyworld. Her Quija board is always sitting on top of her coffee table, just in case her friends drop by for a spot of tea and contact with the other world. Under a different, more boring name, Nora’s works have been published in various magazines, anthologies and novels. Some might even say she’s almost famous.

Cute story. It isn't my cup of tea but I think some of my sixth grader might like it.
