In studying scripture, we can see how much has not changed. In Running the Race we are introduced to scripture and with questions, we can begin to relate to the scripture and how it is applicable to our walk.
Hebrews displays the work of Christ and how we can remain faithful. The comparisons of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant and what they each reveal.

Our study of faith is an important one that we can apply. It is two different things to say you have faith/believe and to live by faith and live what you believe. Faith is a response and the “Hall of Faith” maybe should be called the Hall of Response. It is that response that God Response to us. Sounds like a great relationship!

Running requires inspiration and to run the race of faith we need to look at the faith of those before us. How God knew that we needed this inspiration to draw from. We also draw from the work of Christ. We are to look at the finisher and author of faith. How do we this? This study takes the reader thru a word study that we may have a better understanding of the steps we need to take. The intentionality of those steps is not for the faint hearted.

Along with the response, we also need the endurance of the race. With the endurance, we also suffer. Suffering is where growth happens. Whether by our own hand or others, we are taught thru suffering obedience and the faithfulness of God. Our response to suffering should be humility and obedience. Do we react? Do respond? Reaction might look like blaming and a response might be dealing with the issue with responsibility.

Going thru difficulties it is important to talk to yourself instead of listening to yourself. Do you know the difference?

When we are weakened by discouragement we can be encouraged by resolve, remove and pursuit. What do we give into? Our emotions, our anger? It is pursuing the Character of God that keeps us in the race, running the race of endurance and embracing the suffering to know God deeply.

These are great studies to disciple with and grow. I really enjoyed going deeper in the word.
