Review

This is a exciting and interesting book. I would recommend it for all readers who enjoy the paranormal romance genre.

When I first started reading this book I struggled to get into the story. Once the murder happened and the guys come to town it really picked up. I was not sure at first about each of the three having a voice, but once I got into the rhythm I couldn't put the book down. Can't wait to read the next in the series. Would definitely recommend.

I'm ready to read more of this series! I'm not usually one for lots of description, but here the specifics of how a character is feeling or thinking worked.

Really interesting and kept my interest. I liked the characters. THey were well-developed.

My Blood Runs Blue is a story told by three different viewpoints; not usually my favorite story form but the author does a fairly good job of keeping on point without too much repetition. I liked the characters and was thrilled that Kristin chose the guy she does. The author leaves a lot of open ends for the next book (which she has updated and is being re-released) or books. The author writes knowingly of police procedure and Kristin is my favorite type of character a strong smart woman. Give this book a shot I think you will be glad you did.

My Blood Runs Blue, Stacy Eaton Genre: Paranormal/fantasy Romance Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews When I started reading this it felt familiar, and on checking I discovered I’d read it when it first came out. That's a couple of years back, and I’ve read a couple of thousand books since then so I couldn’t remember all the story.
Its got some great characters, and an interesting storyline, along with a slightly different take on how vampires are created ( well the females anyway – I’m not sure if that applies to males too). I liked Kristin, independent and loyal, she loves her job and has a solid place in the small town where she works as a cop. Julian and Alexander were the two main vampires we meet, and had both known Kristin in a previous life. To them she’s the same person, she thinks they’re nuts though when they talk about vampires, but it seems she can’t keep her hands – or lips or other body parts – off either of them whenever opportunity arises!! She wonders what on earth is going on, and while she’s still trying to work it all out her life gets put in terrible danger. Its a fun read, quite simplistic in plot and I can see openings for the next novel in the series. I enjoyed this book, as I did on first reading, but it’s not one for my keeper files, a one off read for me. I didn’t really get “into” the story, where I like to feel I’m there with the characters. I didn’t really get a proper sense of danger or of mystery about the human/vampire conundrum. It felt quite a superficial surface based read, but if you’re looking for one that's complete in itself, and part of an on-going series that's easy to read, and won’t take too much working out what's going on this is perfect. I prefer a bit more depth and drama but not everyone does of course. I’m in two minds whether to continue with the series, part of me wants to see how the story develops but at the moment I’ve quite a long TBR list...( does it ever get shorter though for us real book lovers??) Stars: Four, a fun light hearted read.

A good, quick read. Well written and no lulls. While not the freshest of ideas in this genre it certainly was entertaining and enjoyable to read. A love triangle, a best friend, a villian, what else could you want? I look forward to reading morrle from this author. Enjoy!

This story opens sort of slow, and the first half while important was sort of slow, but then we hit the last half and it goes mighty quickly. Kristen aka Calista, Julian and Alex were all very intense characters with things that haunted them, personally I enjoyed the 3 way POV but sometimes it took a second to keep up with who I was reading. This is a solid paranormal story and a little romance. I'll set be reading on. This was a complimentary e-copy provided by the author/publisher in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.

Kristen is a cop who works the night shift. Her partner is Mick. She's been a cop for 10 years. Trevor was her husband who is new dead. Her mom was killed when she was an infant and she never knew her dad. She always needed to control her destiny. Her biggest strength is the fact that she's a control freak, but it's also her biggest downfall. She lived in Fawn Hollow. Julian and Alexander were once best friends, but both had loved Calista. Alexander was now Julian's boss. Julian was searching for Damon, a 37yr old rogue vampire. Julian is headed to Fawn Hollow to look for Damon. The company Julian worked for was Virtual Military Force Security. His unit was vampire military security. This was a good book to read, enjoyable twists and turns. I recommend it to anyone who likes thrillers in the paranormal world.

★★★★☆
Kristen is a cop in the small town of Fawn Hollow. She prefers to work the night shift, and is feeling low and incomplete. Her husband died in the line of duty two years ago. This night Kirsten and her partner are called to a particularly brutal murder. A young woman from the town is dead and it's Kirsten job to tell her parents. Alex is the head of V.M.F. to humans that means Virtual Military Force but to others it means Vampire Military Force. He knows who this killer is, so he sends Julian to catch him. Julian has a history with this killer who has been killing their women for years.
As soon as Kirsten meets Julian, then Alex the emotional rollercoaster starts.
The rules for these vampires is slightly different to "normal " and the characters are sexy and strong. I did not guess the correct ending . The only reason it lost a star is it's written in three different P.O.V. which causes a bit of repetition. It also skipped from memories and present time. A very enjoyable read.

This is going to be another novel that I really cannot say too much about the story, without giving away the story. I love those kind of books, not so happy about writing up those kind of reviews.

I really enjoyed the world building in My Blood Runs Blue. With very little fanfare, we jump into the murder that brings in the rest of this novel’s characters. And it is a horrifying murder that we get a somewhat unique view of from both the writer’s visual given to us as well, as from a police view. As Kristin tries to assist the victim, it is her viewpoint that gives us clues into what is happening to her. It is here, at the crime scene, that we (and Kristin) begin to notice her enhanced sense of smell. Hearing, vision will be the next senses to be more than usual. This murder has opened up something within Kristin and her life will forever be changed by it.

Alexander and Julian. Mmmmm. Delicious men who aren’t exactly what they appear to be. My choice for Kristin wavered between the two men – and that was a bit telling to me, because I usually pick one love interest and root for them the entire novel. But both men were charming (in their own unique way), they both had a history with Kristin (although unknown to her for most of the novel) and they both would have made good partners for the stubborn, hot tempered police officer. I admit to being a bit surprised by Kristin’s final choice of men – even when it made absolute perfect sense for the novel.

My Blood Runs Blue was a delightful story, and one that continues through two more books. All have been (or will be later this year) reissued with revisions by the author. The more I review, the more I learn about the publishing world. Since I didn’t read the originals, I cannot speak for those versions. But the reissued versions of this series lays out a very detailed, extremely interesting concept.

I would recommend My Blood Runs Blue for anyone who enjoys paranormals or even murder mysteries. There are twists that you’ll think about until the reveal – that add another level to this novel/series. On my rating scale it gets 4 outta 5 stars. I really enjoyed it… and now I’m heading over to Amazon to pick up the next reissued novel in this series. Enjoy.
