Description
On an empty planet, a city called Pelion is built by former dwellers of Old Earth. Centuries later, the Council of Pelion -- influenced by the prophetic Marcella Fragment -- asks citizens to begin construction of a maze that will be inhabited by ernani (lost souls) brought from the corners of the known world to walk the Path of Preparation.
Two ernani who walk that Path are Tyre of Lapith and Kara of Pelion, a chieftain's son and an apprentice musician. This pair, as unknown to themselves as they are to each other, face trials that test their physical, emotional and moral courage.
In the tradition of fine visionary novels, The Marcella Fragment takes the reader into a world both familiar and strange, peopled by warriors, artisans, healers and slaves, incorporating science fiction, fantasy, myth, and romance.

A Note From the Publisher
Anna LaForge read Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings at fourteen, Asimov’s Foundation Trilogy at sixteen, and LeGuin’s The Left Hand of Darkness at eighteen, at which time she decided that she, too, wanted to create new worlds.
Born in Philadelphia, her work as an actor, director, dramaturg, and professor has taken her to San Francisco, Washington D.C. and New York City. Once an executive director of two not‑for‑profit theatre organizations, she now divides her time between teaching, writing, and seeing live performance.

Marketing Plan
This is Book One of my Maze Series. Book Two, Agave Revealed, came out in 2013, and Book Three, Pelion Preserved, comes out in April of 2015. I want to put Book One on Net Gallery in February, followed by Book Two in March, in preparation for Book Three in April. Marketing of Book Three will include distribution of ARCs for review and participation in panels and readings in ReaderCon in July. In addition, there will be blog postings on my website and Facebook page and a press release issued by my publisher.
