Description
Woodstock might be the smallest of all the Peanuts gang, but he’s got a lot to say, even if Snoopy is the only one who understands him. That’s because Snoopy is Woodstock’s “Friend of Friends,” and together they write masterpieces, fly airplanes, find the perfect place to nap, and win over the hearts of readers all over the world. Whether he’s falling in love with a snowflake or crash-landing on the tip of Snoopy’s nose, Woodstock is the little yellow bird with a big personality. It takes more than a strong wind to ruffle Woodstock’s feathers, although it’s a good thing he has Snoopy to keep his little yellow feet on the ground.
Don’t miss out on this Peanuts collection featuring Woodstock, the most recognizable yellow bird in the world—even in disguise!

Schulz is wonderful, there is not so much else to say...
Schulz é meraviglioso e non c'é poi molto altro da dire....
THANKS TO NETGALLEY AND ANDREWS McMEEL PUBLISHING FOR THE PREVIEW!
It's always nice to read the Peanuts comics, Snoopy and Woodstock stories are particularly nice for their weird interaction.
You bet I did a happy dance when I read this fun book. You can never go wrong with the Peanuts gang. Although Charles Schulz is no longer with us, his work lives on and it never disappoints. I admit Snoopy has always been, and always will be, my favorite of the Peanuts gang, but Woodstock goes hand-in-hand with him as his quirky BFF. I adore their unique friendship and Woodstock’s fearless personality makes him an inspiration for little guys everywhere. Size really doesn’t matter, especially when you have an eager heart and a devoted friend to back you up when needed.
I’m so thrilled that these comic strips have been released in this format to entertain and inspire a whole new generation. I loved this compilation of Woodstock adventures, and though it is geared towards kids, it is a must have book for any and all fans of the Peanuts franchise.
As a life-long Peanuts fan, I jumped at the chance to read the new Woodstock book. It will be a fun book to share with my grandson!
Peanuts has always been incredibly important to me. Though I read a lot of comics as a kid, Peanuts was undisputably the BEST. I was sick a lot as a child, and second-hand stores near us sold bucketloads of the smaller books for $2 each, so I was often allowed $10 to try to find books we didn’t already have at home. I had a pretty good memory for it, too. My parents would flick through a book and not be sure if we already had it, but I could read one or two comics and determine either ‘nope I’m getting it’, and ‘yes we have it, it’s by the footstool’ or something.
When Charles Schulz died, I was pretty inconsolable for at least a week. 14 years old and completely lost, as Peanuts had been with me my whole life. I never really believed he would stop writing comics, and for him to die so eerily near the final printing of his comic strip sent me into a fairly deep depression for someone so young. Over someone I certainly had never met but owned literally nearly every single comic strip he’d ever done, and many other books about his life and work.
There’s something so witty and beautifully simple about the Peanuts comic strips. So many silent characters, such a large cast for usually only three panels, and having lasted for fifty years is pretty incredible. We have the first ever strip where they say ‘Oh, here comes Charlie Brown… how I hate him,’ (so cruel) to the last one that literally makes me get a bit teary (when I’m not usually so), Snoopy at his typewriter for Schulz to say goodbye to us all… this is a comic script that had incredibly depth and breadth.
So then we come to Snoopy (easily the face of Peanuts, sorry Charlie Brown), and his sidekick Woodstock. They have an odd relationship; somehow they show that though they’re an unlikely pairing, friendship knows no limits. Though we see Snoopy roll his eyes at Woodstock quite often (see cover), despite the fact Snoopy is also quite ridiculous quite often, we know that they’d do absolutely anything for each other (though maybe I’m getting a bit carried away now… bear with me here.)
Throughout this collection we see a wide range of the shenanigans they get up to and how they support each other in all they come across, whether it’s whether Woodstock thinking he needs to go on a diet, or wants to know whether Santa Claus visits birds. This is a very nice collection of reprints (clearly, as all strips have been long printed ago now!) and it captures Woodstock very nicely. There are also activities, fun facts, and other cool extras at the end of the book which would be great for kids, and I’d really recommend this for Christmas or a birthday as it’s such a good collection that a child should keep for years and years.
I absolutely loved this book! Snoopy and Woodstock are the perfect comedy duo and this collection has some real laugh out loud moments. Absolutely adorable. That Woodstock!
It's very funny. It's Snoopy and Woodstock just being themselves so it great to read. It's not a kids book but it's something you can read with your kids.
A nice collection of one of my favorite Peanuts characters.
Woodstock will forever be my favorite peanuts character!! :)
Good selection of Peanuts classic featuring everyone's favorite bird, Woodstock. Also a lot of Snoopy. Sweet collection, quick read for a dose of adorable!
Woodstock might be the smallest character in the Peanuts collection, but undoubtedly the one with the biggest character!
What a fantastic collection of cartoon strips - a must for any lover of Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Co.
Even if you're not acquainted with them already, it's still a joy to flick through the pages - and what a perfect way to be introduced to them!
I have enjoyed reading the daily Peanuts comic strip every day since I was little, and even though Snoopy is super loveable, my heart has always belonged to Woodstock! I have stuffed animals, small toys, clothing and even a tattoo of Woodstock so I was super excited to be able to check this book out. I love Schulz, and am so glad that he shared himself with us through his comics. I have pre-ordered several copies of this book (one for me and others for Christmas presents) - I can't wait to get the actual book in my hands!
Note: I received an advanced reading copy of this book through NetGalley
If you read the Peanuts cartoons as a child and especially loved Snoopy, this book is the one to get to introduce the comic strip to youngsters and for you to remember reading them from a newspaper. The themes are ageless making this book one a reader of any age will enjoy.
Oh My Goodness! Who doesn't love Snoopy and Woodstock. Creative and fun!
I'm pretty sure there's a word used to describe a review for a Charles Schulz book.
That word is: useless.
I mean it's Charles Schulz! One would think a review was unnecessary.
You can never just walk past Peanuts! They're a part of life.
(Unless they're not. Than where have you been you're entire life?)
I mean the characters are being used to sell insurance!
Especially Snoopy and Woodstock.
This collection is the cutest thing ever. I love seeing everything those two can get into.
Perfect for any Peanuts fan.
That, of course, is from one Peanuts fan to another.
I love Snoopy and Woodstock, and have laughed at them for 43 years or so. This collection reminded me of how wonderful Woodstock is!
Excerpt from Review: "...As a kid, I loved reading about Snoopy and Woodstock's antics and nothing has changed now that I am an adult. I still love the interaction between these two characters. Kids are going to love Woodstock: Master of Disguises as they witness - many for the first time - the many adventures of Snoopy and Woodstock...."
'Woodstock: Master of Disguise' is a great reprint of strips from Charles Schulz featuring Woodstock. They've been rendered in color, but that just makes them more fun to read.
I've always liked the character of Woodstock. The title of the book is a little misleading since he doesn't always wear a disguise. Except when he's invited to Thanksgiving dinner. Or when he wants to be in Snoopy's beagle scout troop. He also has a bad habit of flying upside down, and into things like trees. He can get lost in snow pretty easy too, since he's so small. He doesn't say much I can understand, but he sure likes to talk a lot.
It's great to see these in reprint, and I think the humor holds up. It's definitely a kinder, gentler, subtler humor from another era. That may or may not play for younger audiences, but as a beloved part of my youth, Peanuts can always make me smile.
I received a review copy of this ebook from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this fun ebook.
great Snoopy fun as always. Nicely represented for a new audience
Oh, I loved this book. It took me right back to my childhood when a new Peanuts book was pure excitement, even though we read the strip in the paper every day. My kids will love this, too. They'll even be getting a good vocabulary workout since the cartoons were written for adults, but the kids will think they're easy because they are cartoons. It is definitely on my to-buy list.
Always a crowd pleaser, I grew up on Schulz and it's a joy to share them with my kids.
I love the Peanuts, and this collection is no exception. I specifically liked that it highlighted Woodstock who is normally just a sidekick.
