About the Author
David Lang, a current resident of Hong Kong, has lived and worked in Asia much of his life. His deep understanding of Asian cultures and locales informs the writing of ‘The Witch of Wanchai, where unforgettable characters uncover layers of mystery in the underworlds of Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Myanmar. Mr. Lang’s father and grandfather were fur traders living in Tianjin when the Japanese military invaded China in 1937. Their history, which was relayed to David over a lifetime of stories told over plates of herring and glasses of vodka, was the inspiration for his first book, ‘The Journal of Rabbi Levy Wang’, and was the foundation of his natural storytelling skills.
