Description
Sexy secrets have serious consequences in little Bourbon Springs, Kentucky—in the heart of the Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass…
When longtime friends and courtroom rivals Rachel Richards and Brady Craft get appointed to the bench in Bourbon Springs, tempers flare as they are forced to share chambers.
Working closely with the obstinate-yet-sexy Brady is not an attractive idea to Rachel—although she has to admit that Brady himself is pretty damned attractive.
Rachel doesn't have to run for office to keep her judgeship, but Brady does. He draws a formidable opponent, Hannah Davenport, a wealthy co-owner of Old Garnet Distillery, where some of the finest Kentucky bourbon is crafted north of town along Old Crow Creek and near the historic springs which gave the town its unique name.
And Hannah just happens to be Rachel’s best friend.
As the judicial race heats up, so does the long-simmering attraction between the two new judges—so they decide to keep their relationship a secret, trying to protect hard-earned reputations and old friendships.
But can any secret be kept in Bourbon Springs, Kentucky, where the gossip flows as freely as the bourbon?
SECRET BLEND is the first book in the Bourbon Springs Series, an upcoming nine-book series of smooth, sensual, sexy, slow-burn contemporary romances set amidst the lush and rolling Land of Bourbon and Bluegrass of central Kentucky.

This book was a huge surprise. It reads like a first time author. The writing is at first a little stilted but as you keep reading, the writer really gets going and it becomes a really easy read.
I read an ARC of the book and I saw a bunch of typos, hopefully that gets fixed before the book comes out. Even with th the typos the book is wonderful. .
I really loved Rachel and Brady. Rachel and Brady went to high school, college, law school, they were always competing and Brady always came ahead. They have never pursued a relationship before but they have almost tried a few times. When Rachel is given a judgeship, she overtakes Brady and he is so jealous he can't see straight. Then he gets a judgeship too and they are forced to really see each other.
They do some dumb stuff like hiding their relationship, which I didn't get. And I hated Hannah, Rachel's BFF. She does some stuff in this book that I would have never gotten over.
But aside from that I LOVED this book and I loved Brady and Rachel together. The book was a "I can't put you down" read.
One thing I really enjoyed about the book is how the author incorporated Bourbon and the area in the story. She had us travel and see the area with her characters and I totally loved it.
A really wonderful read I would be happy to recommend and share.

Secret Blend was an enjoyable young lawyer romance featuring a beautiful, feisty, public defender heroine, Rachel, and an equally career minded prosecutor hero, Brady. After vying for the same judgeship in their hometown, they find themselves sharing the same office quarters. Having known each other for years, but not romantically, repressed feelings begin to blossom into a meaningful relationship they try to keep private. With quick witted banter between the main couple and a likeable cast of supporting characters, the storyline seemed to flow well throughout most of the book. My exceptions would be Hannah’s over-the-top behavior/actions after finding out about the relationship. It seemed more applicable to a middle school student than a well educated lawyer, who would realize there could easily be legal ramifications for such slanderous conduct. The Jed Clampett-like character that appeared in the courtroom near the end of the story added too much of a hillbilly flair for my taste. Though I liked the surprise twist to the plot it initiated, realistically I do not think anyone talks like that anymore.
Overall, I do recommend Secret Blend, Book #1 of the Bourbon Springs series. Filtered Through Blue (Book #2 – pub. date 6/14/15) and Angel’s Share (Book #3 – pub. date 7/14/15) will be the next in this nine book series.
