Description
We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference.
The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy. The only thing you need to achieve significance is to be intentional. And to do that, all you need to do is start. You can't make an impact sitting still and doing nothing. Every major accomplishment that's ever been achieved started with a first step. Sometimes it's hard; other times it's easy, but no matter what, you have to do it if you want to get anywhere in life.
In Intentional Living, John Maxwell will help you take that first step, and the ones that follow, on your personal path through a life that matters.

As always, John Maxwell has plenty of great content to share. He is a master story teller and a brilliant author.
The difference with this book was that he shared many of his personal stories. He warns everyone at the beginning that this book is different than his others because of the personal side of it.
I entered with an open mind and gained many valuable insights into being purposeful about your life. Honestly, the personal stories did have a little negative impact on me (more than I thought they would) and that is the only reason that I didn't give it a 5 star review. There is, as always, plenty of great stuff in the book to help you ... step by step ... build a life of purpose.
Just like Warren Buffet is the "Oracle" of Business & Investing, Dr. Maxwell is definitely the "Oracle" of Leadership development for both the secular and church world. Never before have I had an opportunity to read about his highs and his lows, described in such a candid manner.. Doing so, inspires one to do better and dig a little deeper into their area of giftedness.
Although it had a minute amount of lag, in my opinion, this was truly a worthwhile read.
Giving this one: 5 humongous stars...
In the book Intentional Living, author and leadership trainer John Maxwell reminds us that we can choose the lives we live through daily intentional decisions. Maxwell is a very prolific writer and this is his most personal book. He tells stories of his childhood, his relationship with his dad and his pastoral experiences. Many of the stories I have never read in his other books or heard from any of his audio recordings. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I took several ideas from his book and began applying them to my daily life! To me that is the mark of a great “self-help” book! I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
