Description

Remy’s just graduated college and... been kidnapped! Sent to auction. And she doesn’t have the vaguest idea why.

But intractable businessman Isaiah Grommet knows why, knows what he’s purchased, knows what Remy was bred for, knows what she is: a Liar Charm. After the requisite training from Pakken, Inc., Remy and her newfound little genetic talent will be invaluable to Isaiah’s billionaire empire –voluntary or not.

Awakening in a locked room in New York City with other bewildered young women Remy is thunderstruck when informed by Isaiah what her new future is: Pakken, Inc. will train her how she can always tell when someone is lying and then she’ll be working for him. Or, she can face the wrath (not to mention the executioner!) of Pakken itself, an old and powerful company of very patriarchal men siring very special daughters for very special remuneration they are NOT going to give up.

But one Pakken father has had enough –and he’s secretly doing something about it. Another one is too but in a decidedly lethal direction. And Remy? Remy has a whopping big secret herself, one Pakken sure hasn’t bargained for.

’Cause when it comes to being forced into enslaved servitude, hipster Remy has her own pretty intractable ideas, creatively inventive ones if you want to be charitable, brain-bleached hilarious ones if you want to be accurate. So if Remy can just turn her “screw yous” into “yessirs” instead of launching her barmiest blast of fake-the-funk evah, she MIGHT not only stay alive but even pull a Captain Sully and land the whole gigabucks Pakken lot of ’em smack in the Hudson!

Then again Remy has never managed a “yessir” in her life.

A) WOW! Just WOW! What a story. A whole "Business" World, really well built. Not a very nice world true but such an enjoyable, well written story of good & evil. And Remy? Some of her ways of putting things were hilarious. Yep, enjoyed every minute of this one. Have fun sorting out the truly evil from the partly evil and the hidden "good guys."

B) I loved this book!! It has well written characters, humor, intrigue and lots of sass. I read this book in one sitting, it kept me engaged, which to me is important in a book. I love Remy, her resilience, bravery, intelligence and endurance. I want to be her when I grow up! lol I wasn't sure if there would be a HEA ending, there was, but not what you normally expect.

C) This is a great book, a fascinating story that really keeps your interest. It is part fantasy but totally believable. The author gives a well-crafted, educated explanation for the “Charms.” The characters are diverse and multifaceted. There's also plenty of action! You will enjoy reading this book, I highly recommend it.

D) I loved this story. It's well written, the characters are believable and engaging, and I loved the plot. Remy is not a wilting, helpless female lead. She's strong and ingenious, and a little bit hard headed. I loved her! It's an interesting plot and a really good story.

E) The Liar Charms is urban fantasy the way it should be done. Remy has a clearly defined system of abilities with a believable reason behind it. She is fully drawn and the people around her show their own complexity. This is not the book I expected at the start, it is much better. I recommend it for lovers of urban fantasy and strong female characters.

F) Great book. Had a hard time putting down to sleep. Remy is a wonderful protagonist. She is hardheaded, resourceful & intelligent. Only thing I can ask for would be a 2nd book, I miss Remy already.
