The Billionaire’s Betrayal is a fast paced, enjoyable romance. When Helena’s husband was killed in the same accident that also took the life of Matteo’s father her life changed forever. Helena has questions and guilt. There were two women with the gentlemen when the car went off the road. She and her husband had a fight before he stormed out the door that night. Yes, a lot of questions, guilt and “what ifs” are spinning around in Helena’s head.

Matteo is doing everything possible to put his family’s business back together after his father’s death. To say his father had messed up badly would be an understatement, but he would take his business to the top again. Now, in order to have all of the shares of their holdings back under their control… Matteo has to reclaim a small amount that Helena holds. Matteo has been trying to buy them back from her, but she is deep in grief and is not returning his calls.

Helena is ready to move on with her life. She has one person to talk to about her husband’s actions the night he died. No matter what the outcome of that conversation, she is ready to take back her life. Matteo is in town for the purchase of a hotel to add to the family business, discovering that Helena is also in town he sets out to see her and work to get those shares back. Neither one expected passion or love to explode around them.

Matteo and Helena’s romance is fast, hot and satisfying. In a charming story, we learn quickly of Matteo’s past attraction to Helena, which he never acted upon. Now the attraction is there on both sides and the path is clear to see where those feelings may travel. There is a thread woven through this story of jewel thieves which most likely will be taken up in the continuation of the series. It does add a touch of danger for Matteo and Helena.

The Billionaire’s Betrayal was a fun, entertaining and enjoyable addition to the Amalfi Night Billionaires series. I would recommend this title for anyone who enjoys romance, another chance at a love of a lifetime or simply a very good love story.

*I received an e-ARC of The Billionaire’s Betrayal from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

What was supposed to be just a business trip turns into much more.

Two years after Baroness Helena “Lena” Von Lienz’s husband Anton dies in a car crash, she returns to Italy to open an art gallery in Venice. An unexpected guest shows up at the gallery, Matteo De Luca, who also lost his father in the car crash. Lena knows Matteo is only there to convince her to give him the dei Fiori Hotel shares that Lena’s husband left her after he died. Lena refuses to give in.

Matteo has worked hard reconstructing dei Fiori Enterprises after his father nearly tore apart the family legacy. He was in Venice to secure a property for a new hotel when he decided to go to the gallery opening to see Lena.

Lena still has many questions about the night Anton died. Who were the two women in the car that night and why were they there. She seeks these answers while she is in Italy too. Can Matteo help Lena find the answers she seeks?

The love affair between Lena and Matteo was very intense. But is it strong enough to keep them together? Or, will it tear them apart when Lena starts thinking it was just a seduction to get the hotel shares back?

I enjoyed this story a lot. I liked the connection between Lena and Matteo and enjoyed the secondary stories as well. I look forward to the next book in the series. There is also a jewel theft plot that I am anxious to learn more about.

A fast paced romance set in Venice, Italy. Helena, Lena, has returned two years after her husband had unexpectedly died in a car crash with unanswered questions and to open an art gallery. Matteo, who's father also died in the crash, has been rebuilding the family's empire, one missing link, Lena's share holding in the stock. Matteo is there to Lena with the unanswered questions and to wine and dine her. There is an intense chemistry between these two, HOT! Little did Lena know that Matteo always had a secret desire for her. Will it be enough to keep them together or is it a ploy for her share of the stock.

I really enjoyed the story line, fast paced. Great connection between the characters. Loved all of the scenery, closed my eyes thinking I was there. Now I am wondering about the jewel heist, hoping more to come. A big story packed into this novella.

I received this book from netgalley for an honest review. I highly recommend this book along with the other books in the series, completely stand alone stories.

Another excellent read in the Amalfi Night Billionaires series. This is Matteo's story and it's excellent.

Since his fathers death, Matteo has been completely focused on getting the family hotel empire back on solid ground. One last piece of the puzzle is to get all the shares back into family hands. the one hold out is the widow Helena Von Lienz. Her husband was killed in the same car crash as Matteo's father. While he is definitely trying to get her to sell him back the share of his company she owns, he's also wildly attracted to her. How can she possibly know if he wants her or if he's still all business???

A great, quick read that I definitely recommend.

This is the third book in the Amalfi Night series involving a small core community of characters where each story involves and refers to the events in the other books but gives details about one "star" character and their HEA. I don't think you need to have read the other books to enjoy this one - but having read and enjoyed them both. I still find it amazing how Tule manage to have teams of authors working on series like this so brilliantly, keeping key events, characters and settings linking the books despite their different authors!

This particular book focus is on the eldest of the De Luca brothers, Matteo, who has been picking up the pieces and reinvigorating the family hotel business after the car crash which killed his father together with his father's friend, Baron AntonVon Lienz, and two sisters. At the memorial service for the two men, Matteo meets the Baron's widow - the beautiful Baroness Helena “Lena” Von Lienz. The two are attracted to each other and share a memorable kiss but that's all. It is another year till they meet again, the chemistry is still there but so are the questions that Lena needs answering before she can more on and give them both a chance to achieve their HEA together. Will she find the answers she needs? Will Matteo put love before business?

This is another very enjoyable, fast paced addition to the series. The characters are well developed, the plot builds further and adds a further dimension to that in the earlier books and having most of the setting in Venice is fantastic. This is a comparatively short but very enjoyable romantic read that I recommend to anyone who likes to escape into a lovely Italian romantic read!

The books in this series are:

The Billionaire’s Temptation by Katherine Garbara The Billionaire’s Deception by Mimi Wells The Billionaire’s Betrayal by Nancy Robards Thompson The Billionaire’s Secret by Kathleen O’Brien The Billionaire’s Charade by Eve Gaddy

Thanks to the authors, publisher and NetGalley, too for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Billionaire's Betrayal, book three in the Amalfi Nights Billionaires series, is a sexy and seductive story. Although it is part of a series it stands up well by itself. It's short but well paced and author Nancy Robards Thompson has used a couple of clever techniques to allow the characters to fall in love in the space of a few days while still delivering a measure of believability.
Lena is the widow of Matteo's father's friend. Her husband and Matteo's father died together in a car crash several years earlier, and it is at the memorial for the pair that she first discovers her attraction to Matteo. A model, she is tall, graceful and elegant. She has also been a good wife to Anton, her former husband, for fourteen years and is not ready to move on when she first meets Matteo.
Matteo has always been attracted to Lena, but he doesn't believe in seducing other men's wives so he's kept his distance. Now that Anton is gone though things are different. He knows they'll be good together and he can't wait to find out just how good. What he didn't expect was to fall in love.
This book is largely set in Venice. Imagine luxury palazzos and water taxis and you'll get the idea. There was a sub plot of sorts involving hotel jewellery heists that looked as though it was going somewhere but It didn't and I did wonder if it belonged in the book at all. Apart from that little mystery I enjoyed this book. It's an excellent weekend read as it's compact and easily read in a couple of hours.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from Tule Publishing for an honest review. Although this is book 3 in the Amalfi Billionaire's series, it could be read as a standalone. All books are written by different authors with a link between them. In this case, book 1 was about Matteo's brother, Rocco, and there are several mentions of Matteo in Venice with the widow Lena to get his family hotel's shares back from her. Interestingly, the series is not about all of the brothers (I believe there are 5 brothers), but has so far alternated - Rocco (book 1) and Matteo (book 3) are brothers and books 2 and 4 are friends of theirs. I'm hoping the 5th book by Eve Gaddy (synopsis and listing not on Goodreads yet) is about the youngest brother mentioned briefly in this book (their mother's cancer came back while she was pregnant with him and there's a lot of guilt around that).

I really liked this book as you knew from the beginning he wanted those shares from her and already had his lawyer looking into loopholes. As the two begin forming a relationship, you know that's coming and it builds the tension. The story's pace clips along quickly and before I knew it I was done (more novella length - about 1.5 hours). The characters are interesting, I liked their chemistry, I liked that time passed after her husband died and their relationship began to build. The only thing that jerked me out of the story and it was at the very end... "Matteo was the love of her life." Given what she finds out about her husband, this one sentence on the last page seemed unnecessary and kind of dismissive of her relationship with Aldo. Something I could see a lot of others not liking was how fast their relationship developed. Yes, their relationship progresses VERY quickly by the epilogue, but it really didn't matter to me as this was a light and fun read for an afternoon escape. I will definitely be looking into future stories by the author.

Matteo is hoping to close everything up with buying a new hotel in Venus and he realize that Lena is there and he has something he needs to handle with her but he also has some things he would like to tell her. Lena is in town to honor her late husband she also would like to get closure for what happened the night her husband died. She is some what surprised but not really to see Matteo showing up at the event she needs to talk to him but not sure what he wants or why he's there. The other two books in the series that I have read seem to have a really good storyline and a fun way for the characters, however in this book it did not seem that way at all. There didn't seem to be much of a story with these two what story there was seemed rushed and not much to it. It was written over all well but I am not sure that it ties 100% with the other books other then the fact that Matteo it the older brother. . IF you are looking a really short book with a quick story this would be the book for you. Over all like I said the story short as it is, is really well written.

The Billionaire’s Betrayal surprised me. It jammed a lot more in its short 52 pages than a lot of longer stories. I avoided reading this on my NetGalley shelf, especially since I had just poo-poo’d some of Tule Publishing’s books the week before in a review I wrote AND because the idea of billionaires in ritzy Italy/Mediterranean islands just sounded sooo formulaic – especially when our heroine is a former model and our hero is a tony hotel heir. But, the chemistry worked here.

Admittedly, I was a little discombobulated at the beginning of the story where readers are introduced to the characters at a funeral. I felt as if there was some backstory I was missing because the story sort of dived in as if we knew enough of the characters. Then, it turns out that 1st chapter was really THE backstory we were going to get because the story advances by 2 years when we then catch up with our characters.

Author Nancy Robards Thompson did a good job with the few pages she had. I’m impressed with how she managed to accomplish it. I’m willing to take a look at the rest of this series.

Can you get a second chance at love. Lena is mourning her husband, she can't accept that he was cheating on her. She misses him and she can't move forward until she knows. Matteo needs Lena to give him her late husband's shares in his family business but he did not bank on falling for her even though he has wanted her since the first time that he saw her. Can they find peace together or will a lie destroy them.

A powerful struggle that neither anticipated made lead to an unexpected consequence. Helena had the perfect life until she discovered some hidden truths about her late husband, herself and her feelings for Mateo. Mateo has one mission to resurrect the family empire. He never expected to be blindsided in more ways than one. I received an ARC of The Billionaire's Betrayal in exchange for an honest review. What I liked about this story is that both characters held their own and stood up for what they believed. Even at the most inconvenient of times. This was not a story of a weak female needing someone to rescue her and I loved that.

It’s about time that Matteo gets his own story. And boy does he ever in The Billionaire's Betrayal (Amalfi Night Billionaires Book 3) by Nancy Robards Thompson. I knew that there was more to the oldest DeLuca brother than first met the eye. He is indeed a workaholic who needs some love in his life. In addition, I loved the glimpses of younger brother Rocco who needed to help shoulder some of the family business. Still this novel works well for a stand-alone.

The plot is light and fun with just a bit of angst. The characters wealthy, kind and considerate of each other. It did seem as if Lena’s change of heart happened quickly, perhaps too quickly to be believable.

One of my favorite parts is the description of the place the story where most of the story takes place. The setting is just vividly portrayed so I felt as if I also had taken a tip there much more than I felt in some of the other books. So I sincerely hope that who every did the research for this series was able to experience firsthand the 5+ star treatment that Matteo gave to Lena. It is worth reading just to read that.

The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.

Matteo has always been attracted to Helena from afar. She married an older man when in her early 20's and stayed married to him for over 10 years. Lena has just lost her husband to a car accident that also killed Matteo's father and she and Matteo are thrown together at the combined memorial service in Tuscany. There were two other occupants in the car and Helena is determined to find out how those occupants were related to her husband. It has occupied her mind for so long that 1.5 years after the accident she comes back to Italy to see what her husband's business partner can tell her. Along the way she runs into Matteo and the attraction they felt toward each other at the memorial service 1.5 years earlier is still present. But, can Helena trust Matteo when she knows he wants her 15% of his family's company that she inherited from her late husband. As they spend time together they each find out information about the people they lost that helps each of them come to terms with the people they love. Interestingly enough we find out how much Helena loved her husband and honored their marriage. Matteo struggled with the changes his father went through after losing Matteo's mother, changes that caused him to risk everything their family had built. The Billionaire's Betrayal is a great story about love and loss and the things those are left behind go through to heal.
