It’s all sexy fun and games until Summer realizes that Luke is none other than her new boss. Summer refuses to continue to have a fling with her superior, even though the passion between them still runs wildfire hot. But the billionaire private investigator doesn’t see the problem, especially since he knows that one night with Summer won’t be enough.
When Luke’s cousin sends an SOS asking for help in stopping a ring of jewel thieves from robbing his luxury hotel on the Amalfi Coast, Luke agrees. And Summer’s first assignment will be posing as his very sexy, rich, and bejeweled fiancée at the Hotel dei Fiori Isola del Sole.
Playing the happy couple is hard enough during the day, but the nights… will those romantic Amalfi nights turn the charade into more than just a job for both Summer and Luke… for good?

The Billionaire's Charade by Eve Gaddy My Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars The Billionaire's Charade was a pleasant surprise. As a regular reader of Ms. Gaddy's work I am familiar with many of her stories. What was so different about this one is that the plot contained intrigue along with romance. Although not what I expected it proved to be an ideal fit. In fact I was attracted more because I was anticipating what would happen next. Summer had no idea that attending a friend's wedding would change her life. In a shocking twist she has a one-night stand with unbeknownst to her, her new boss. Now they have to work together without letting their emotional baggage get in the way. I received an ARC of The Billionaire's Charade in exchange for an honest review. An intoxicating, edge of the seat love story that is funny and sexy.
This is the fifth book in this delightful, entertaining series and the one where the thieves will be apprehended! It involves the PI cousin of the Hotel owners coming undercover in an attempt to thwart any attempts to steal jewels from people staying at the luxury Hotel dei Fiori Isola del Sole. With stealth, mystery and investigations to be carried out as well as romance to develop this is an action packed enthralling read that I highly recommend.
As usual, the story has a strong alpha billionaire male who is seriously attracted to a reluctant somewhat feisty, independent female who is used to standing up for herself. Whilst the attraction between Luke and Summer is highly combustible, she is particularly wary and it is interesting to discover why and to see how Luke wins her over. The focus on investigating and preventing the jewel thefts adds an extra dimension to this story which is a brilliant finale to the series.
It is great to catch up on the brothers at the Hotel but I suspect the novel could also be read as a standalone and still enjoyed. The interactions between family and friends as well as guests at the Hotel all add to the plot which had its origins in the earlier novels in the series. I keep typing it, but I really do admire how the different authors collaborate to produce such a great series. Each author shares part of the overall story but they keep the events, characters, places and reactions consistent through all the stories so they flow seamlessly without highlighting the fact they have been penned by different authors. This is a superb collaborative series and I highly recommend this and all the other titles in it!
Other books in this series (which I have also read and reviewed) include:
Pursued by the Devil by Carole Mortimer Never Resist a Sheikh by Jackie Ashenden Claimed by the Warrior by Joss Wood Taming the Italian Bad Boy by Joanne Walsh The Billionaire’s Charade by Eve Gaddy
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for this, an honest review.
Summer hates wedding but when she runs into Luke at one of her friends wedding with his promise to changer her mind about them she is all to happy to give this playboy a chance. She just never thought it would be her new boss, when the tables keep turning and now she has to fly cross the world to help out his cousin and in the mean time pretend to be is fiancé she is not really happy about it but she knows its her job on the line if she doesn't. Luke is oh so happy and finds the humor in the girl he can't get out of his head and his heart just so happens to work for him now. When his partner decided she needs to play fiancé to him to catch a thief he is thrilled. He thinks she's the greatest thing to slice bread, however will they have a hard time playing and keeping it a secret to those close and still catch the jewel thief? This book is the best out of all them the adventure is wonderful truly on the edge of your seat and does an amazing job summing up this series. I loved visiting Italy again but also following up with a few of the other characters. This book is a real page turn and had me on the edge of my seat all the way through. Looking for a fun book with lots of chemistry and action well this is the book for you .
This was a fun, light, sexy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! For someone who has recently gone through major heartbreak, a wedding is the last place you want to be. So when Summer St. Croix meets the incredibly handsome Luke Vanetti and they decide to ditch the reception and make some fun of their own, no problem, right? Wrong!! When Summer shows up for the first day of work at her new job and finds out Luke is actually one of her bosses, the fun doesn't seem quite worth it. Add the fact that her first assignment is to accompany Luke, posing as a happily engaged couple, to an exclusive resort to add an additional layer of security for an upcoming wedding and yeah, the situation is a bit strained!!
I highly recommend this one! It's well written, and I loved these characters. A very fun read!
Summer hates weddings, but she attends her best friend's,but meeting Luke there and to have a hot one night with him, makes it more doable. Hoping to never see him again, but then to find out that he is your new boss. It only gets better, they are off to the Amalfi coast as private investigators to solve the robberies of jewels. To make it even better, they are going as newly engaged couple. Summer, stands firmly that she will not sleep with her boss but will their sexual attraction win out.
I so enjoyed this book, great humor between the characters and their sexual attraction is hot. A great ending to the series, seeing the previous characters in the story line. A stand alone book, but will be enjoyed so much better if you read the previous books first. I highly recommend this book, a fun quick read.
I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.
ARC from Netgalley.
I love a good oops he is my new boss haha. It didn't bore it kept me hooked the whole way through.
This book is a quick light read. I haven't read the others in this series but I'm very impressed that a group of authors have collaborated to make a great series. Front the reviews they have kept it fresh and I will be one clicking the rest of the series as they appear in this book.
Like is a strong alpha billionaire who is also an action packed PI.
Summer is also a PI that has huge trust issues with men. I love Luke's style and his an summers interaction throughout the book is great.
It's a small world.
While out of town for a wedding, the man Summer St. Croix has a one night stand with turns out to be her new boss. She finds out when she shows up for her first day at Longhorn Investigations. This isn't good. Summer doesn't believe in sleeping with someone she works for.
Luke Vanetti's partner Earl hired the new investigator, so Luke had no idea it would be Summer. It was a surprise when he saw her in the office the morning Summer showed up for work. Will they be able to work together without giving into temptation?
Summer and Luke’s first job together is to pose as an engaged couple at Hotel dei Fiori on Isola del Sole in Italy for a big wedding that a lot of wealthy guests will be attending. Jewel thieves have been hitting luxury hotels across Europe and the owners fear they might be next.
This was one sexy, nail biting and exciting story and a perfect ending to the series. The writing in this book was incredible. The characters and the interactions between them felt so real. I loved the setting and plot. All around, it’s a great book.
I haven't read the other books in this series, but I did enjoy it as a stand alone. The characters were witty and engaging and I do like the plot line of summer and her boss. I will now make the effort to find the other titles in this series.
Throughout the Amalfi Night Billionaires series we have slowly been feed bits and pieces of the robberies happening at hotels in the general vicinity of the Amalfi coast where our stories take place. While they might not be next door to each other, each robbery is escalating in violence, and while the police do not believe they are connected there are others who think differently.
Now with Luke and Summer’s story we will finally catch the thieves When Luke and Summer hooked up at their friend’s wedding, neither one knew that they’d wind up at work together on Monday morning. They simply knew that it had been an amazing, sensuous weekend, one that they’d like to repeat… if they hadn’t been boss and employee. Now Summer and Luke are on the case at the hotel, playing the affluent newly engaged couple, there for a weekend wedding that will attract lots of wealthy guests with tons of valuable jewelry. Summer’s declaration that she won’t sleep with her boss, since she now knows that Luke is her new boss.. may or may not go the way she originally intended.
The Billionaire’s Charade is such a delightful romance. Beautiful location, fun and entertaining characters, plus a mystery to solve – what’s not to love about this novel or this series? :)
I have enjoyed this series so much. And there are still a few brothers, cousins as yet unattached. Maybe we can hope for a return visit to the Amalfi coast some time in the future. If you love sexy love stories, locations so well described you can picture them and believable heroes and heroines to walk you through their romance – then you will love The Billionaire’s Charade or any stories in the Amalfi Night Billionaire series. I would not hesitate to recommend this story to anyone who simply enjoys a really good love story.
*I received an e-ARC of The Billionaire’s Charade from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from Tule Publishing for an honest review. I'm not sure if this was the last book of the Amalfi Night Billionaires series, but I'm crossing my fingers we get a book for Matteo and Rocco's brothers - Nico, Marco and especially Alessandro. If this is the last book, it tied up the jewelry heist mystery very nicely. Whereas each book only had the thieves as a subplot, Summer and Luke (cousin) are private investigators who put all the pieces together. It's a novella that was nicely paced with well-developed and likable characters. It's a quick and entertaining read to read on a lazy afternoon. I highly recommend this series.
Summer meets Luke at a friends wedding and they end up spending the night together. Monday morning she comes to know he's her boss. As PI's they have to pretend to be engaged to catch thieves from robbing a luxury hotel. Summer is adamant that she will not have a fling with her boss, but the chemistry between them is so strong that she gives in. It was an enjoyable , sexy , nail biting read. The interactions between the characters was fun to read. A well written and delightful read.
Summer spends a steamy night with Luke after they meet at a wedding. Summer is dealing with the lingering disappointed of her own cancelled wedding and soon discovers that Luke is her new boss. They go undercover as lovers to find a jewel theft ring and cannot fight their attraction.
I enjoyed the setting and the characters. A quick read filled with romance.
At 107 pages this is more of a novella than a novel. On that basis, it is a fun story about a couple, Luke and Summer, who meet at a wedding and share a mutual dislike of them. A hot one-night stand follows.
However, all is not good when Summer starts her new job as a PI and finds out that Luke is one of her bosses. A series of jewellery thefts in upmarket hotels has worried one of Luke's cousins who owns an exclusive hotel and is soon to host a family wedding. Summer goes undercover as Luke's fiancée wearing LOTS of expensive jewellery.
The story was short and fun. I didn't know this was the fifth book in a series when I requested it but it was fairly obvious from the sheer number of married/engaged family members that this was not a stand-alone but I didn't feel that this spoiled my enjoyment of the book.
I didn't feel that I really got to know either Luke or Summer - that may have been due to the length of the novella - and that is really my only negative comment.
The fifth book of the series Summer is a cheery girl that goes to a wedding and meets Luke there chemistry is off the charts she not a one night stand type of girl so it was cute seeing there banter! Then she finds out Luke is her boss and try to stay away but there chemistry wont let them.
The best part about a continuing series with different authors is the variety in the stories. This is the latest is a series centered on the Amalfi resort area of Italy. At a friend's wedding, Summer St. Croix meets and has a hot one night stand with Luke Vanetti only to find he is her new boss at a detective agency. Reluctantly agreeing to pose as his fiance to flush out jewel thieves, Summer finds Luke more irresistible every day. Luke is also finding it difficult to keep a professional attitude with his new employee.
This is a classic romance theme and is given a fresh look with the beautiful setting and the wedding theme which ties together Summer and Luke's relationship.
In The Billionaire's Charade, Eve Gaddy has delivered a book that is sparkling with fun though this one also has its fair share of sexual zing as lead characters Summer and Luke dance around each other trying to ignore the attraction between them.
Fifth in the Amalfi Night Billionaires series, you'll enjoy reading The Billionaire's Charade more if you have read the other four books first, though it isn't necessary. The other books help to set the context and introduce some of the peripheral characters but you'll work all that out well enough if this your first of the series.
In her foreword, Eve Gaddy tells us how much fun she had writing this book, and it is certainly evident as you read it. Her style is light, her characters seem to have minds of their own at times, and the story virtually tells itself. I loved The Billionaire's Charade. I hope you do too.
Some intrigue to go with the romance, wonderfully done. The Billionaire's Charade (Amalfi Night Billionaires Book 5) by Eve Gaddy like book 4 is a different take on the whole billionaire theme. Summer and Luke are private investigators helping the Declan family.
While it is not necessary to have read the other books, it still amazes me how all of them tie together so well. Still each stands very well on their own. The hotel robberies have been mentioned in each of the previous books so I should not have been surprised that an entire story came about from that.
The whole investigation takes place amidst the most divine setting of the dei Fiori Isola del Sole’s preparation of Rocco Declan’s wedding. It is a fun light hearted read with the investigation at the center but Summer and Luke’s relationship developing right along with catching the bad guys. Very entertaining novella.
The publisher through Net Galley provided a copy.
This is the fifth book in the series and this was a fun one. Summer and Luke meet at a friends wedding and end up having a one night stand. Both would like to see each other...but come Monday morning they come to find out that Luke is Summer's new boss. They fight their mutual attraction throughout the book. As I stated, this is the fifth in the series and I would recommend that you read the others because it will give you insight into the other characters in the book as well as the "mystery" that they are trying to solve. This is a light fun read and I really enjoyed it.
I haven't read all the Amalfi Night Billionaires books, but I'd sure like to. I knew about cousin Luke when I read #3 in the series -- also a very good The Billionaire's Betrayal -- so I was happy to learn #5 was about him. Turns out this is a huge family to be a part of and I'm hoping the Tule Publishing team decides to keep this going.
I like both the characters and the chemistry, meet cute (at a wedding), and set up worked. What was weak was the case they were trying to solve. Clearly, that wasn't the main point of the story, just part of the vehicle to get the couple to play undercover and realize their love for each other.
Summer did not enjoy weddings in any way. She met Luke, who was a groomsman at one of her oldest friend's wedding and spent time with him. Monday she started a new job at Longhorn Investigations and Luke was actually her new boss. Summer was a private investigator. I really enjoyed this romance. It was that but more. The characters were excellent. I loved the journey Summer and Luke took together. I highly recommend.
Really good! This is what I wanted from the last 2 books & didn't get. This book was full of steam, intrigue & just plain fun. Luke & Summer meet at a wedding & hit it off well enough that a one night stand turns into the next day as well until they each have to fly home to the same city. Some Monday Summer starts a new job & is shocked to learn that Luke is her new boss. Now she has to work with him & their first case is to pretend to be engaged so that they can catch who ever is robbing luxury hotels in Europe. Matteo, Luke's cousin requests his help in finding out who's responsible for the robberies. With them pretending it means that Luke can romance Summer all he wants to get her to the same place he is, wanting to further their romance. I enjoyed the banter between Luke & Summer as well as the heat their characters produced. This was well written & I enjoyed seeing the other characters make appearances in this book. Definite recommend.
Luke Vanetti is a gorgeous and wealthy man that Summer meets at a wedding they both attend. Summer is groaning because she hates weddings. Luke is in the wedding but groans a bit nonetheless. They commiserate over their combined desire to leave the reception as early as possible. Summer hates weddings because of her very personal history with weddings. Luke just wants to get out of there and do something besides walk around with a tuxedo on when he would rather be anyplace else. Summer and Luke spend some very intimate time together after the wedding and well into the next day. The following week when Summer goes to her new job as a private investigator she finds that Luke is her new boss. She is insistent that the relationship was a one night stand. But, the very first case they work on involves Luke's family back in Tuscany and they are undercover as an engaged couple. Summer has decided that she is still not going to continue the physical relationship, but it is going to be quite trying given they are sharing a room at the hotel they are meant to protect. I have read these books completely out of order and the great thing is that I am still loving them. I have read the last three in the series without realizing that each of the men involved are part of the same family. That is the mark of a great series when despite mixing things around the reader can still enjoy the story and not even realize they have missed something.
this is the fifth book in the series and again wrote by a different author. all the novels in the series can be read as stand alones or as the full series. the story line is fantastic as well as the characters. the characters are all wrote consistently through out the series highly recommended
Summer didn't like weddings especially since her own one has gone poof! But she still went to her friend's nuptials and there she met Luke. A whirlwind one-night affair with Luke was all she desired, but this proved to be quite consequential when she started on her new job. Guess who turned out to be her boss? Yep, no other than Luke. And their entanglement even got tightr when they were tasked to pose as a convincingly sweet bethrothed. Tough luck, eh?
As usual, Eve Gaddy woved the kind of romance that makes you weak in the knees and wish you were the one in the main character's shoes. Summer and Luke handsome together, whther under false pretenses or not. While Summer was reluctant to take things higher between them, Luke was definitely in for the ride. (Although I didn't like his 1-week girlfriend standards) Their job as PI definitely made them so wholesomely erotic. Ha, talk about oxymorons!
Overall, I enjoyed The Billionaire's Charade, 'twas short but fun. Weddings, jewels, billionaires, thieves. Sure-fire ingredients to a perfect autumn read!
Another great story from a wonderful author. Gaddy will delight fans with this one!
3.5 He Finally Figured It Out Stars * * * 1/2 This was the last installment of this series. All of the books from what I can tell had wonderfully sexy men with each having their own issue with love and commitment... and then finding the remedy woman of their dreams. That may sound too simple... but in life, if we take away all the "stuff" we put on ourselves as to why we can't do this or that... we could all look back and say they same thing... we just needed to figure out the remedy to our situations and just go for it.
In this story we have both characters hating weddings... one because hers didn't thank goodness didn't happen...cheating in the garden of the event just before the I do's...something not to want again. Him, because he just isn't cut out for long term connections... doesn't know how.
Summer, our gal is roped into going to a wedding in Dallas, her new workplace and home. She is starting over and excited to finally feel good. She has stepped away from the affair and meets a Hunk of hotness...they both are sort of talking to each other but the sound of the affair is loud. They exchange names but Summer doesn't hear the end of Luke's name. They both agree to go to the bar outside the room to "talk".
Both are very attracted to each other... there is banter, looks and exchanges that happen when there is nameless sex on the mind. They both act like they know the unwritten score...and both make Hey, Wow and OMFG in the sack together. In fact, both get smacked with the "I don't want this to be a one night stand stick". They play some more the next day with Luke really thinking they could start something real in Dallas... after all they both live and work there. Both have a fun send off and then get on with getting on with their normal routines. Play time over.
Summer is racing to get to her new position. She is starting with a Private Investigating firm. It is a move up for her as she was sick of doing Divorce work. She walks into the office, is instructed to go to the Conference Room and there... shoulders of a man standing before the window look very familiar but she knows she is just thinking of the night before. When he turns, she almost falls down in her seat rather than just sitting.
Yes, it is Luke... the man she shared unbelievable pleasure with... the one she was hoping to meet up with again here in Dallas... but not this way AS HER BOSS!
Luke is surprised and asks what is she doing here... does she need a PI? They argue back and forth and it comes out she is the new hire by Earl, who is walking into the room. As Earl sees they know each other, both say it was from the wedding. Period.
They both are adults...both decide they will work together and no sex needs to happen. Yeah...
They are sent to the Resort to act as a rich couple going to the owners wedding, Luke's brother, to be watching for jewel thieves hitting all of the luxury hotels of the region. No one must know they are not engaged... for only a few can be trusted... anyone could be part of the ring.
Well, this is just the set up we adore. Couple hot for each other stuck in a room with a big bed for one and them fighting the attraction. Throw in some intrigue, beautiful location and love in the air... and you have a terrific little read.
We get to experience all of that plus the realization of Luke that Summer is what he has wanted all along. All of the past characters are there for this finale installment. It all came together nicely.
A gifted copy was provided by Tule Publishing via NetGalley for an honest review.
I enjoy Ms Gaddy's books - but this one lacked a certain amount of realism. They hooked up - that was pretty spiffy, I enjoyed that, but then the rest of the book was a will-they-wont-they-of-course-they-will. Not bad, but not memorable.
Eve Gaddy is an awesome author i love her,no matter what you always no whatever book she brings out will be written with such a flare and awesome style we get a great romance to read and characters that we fall .
Summer is an awesome character she is gorgeous has guts and a ton of character too her when she wants something she certainly knows when and how to get it.
Luke Vanetti o my he is swoon worth and yes he is also a panty dropper .... lol. i love the way he and summer interact its explosive and the chemistry is the best.
