Wow, this serial is intense. I think I'll post a review of the whole book when it's close to the publishing date on my blog. But let me say already that I totally love this story.

Reading about Noah and Amelia and their lives full of melancholy and loneliness just about broke my heart. I also loved the BDSM hints and hope there'll be more of that in the next book. The ending seemed a bit dramatic and I'm curious to see what the author will make of that in the next part of the serial.

I read this in one sitting, once I started I just couldn't put it down. I keep reading J.J. McAvoy's books and thinking, "Wow this is her best book yet! I can't imagine how she's going to top this" and then she freaking turns around and more then tops it. She hits it out of the freaking park! She is amazingly talented and if you haven't read any of her books yet, you should drop everything and pick up one of her books right now. Doesn't matter which one because they are all THAT good.

Lets talk Amelia and Noah now. I don't actually read the many actor/actress books, and the fact that they're actually childstars is really what interested me and drew me in. Amelia and Noah were both childstars that acted together in their youth and even dated when they were teens. Fast forward a few years and they are both actors whose careers have dried up and they can't stand to be around each other. They both end up staring lovers in the next big book adaption of a romance. Even though in this first part and we only get a small portion of the movie world, I loved the acting scenes and I thought that the accurate portrayal of how crazy fans can get when a book gets adapted was fun to read. Especially since I'm often guilty of being one of those hard to please fans lol.

I really loved Amelia and Noah, they had off the charts chemistry. Now this is a serial so because of that they do develop of relationship relatively quickly but since they had a pre-existing relationship I didn't feel like anything was rushed. I found Noah particularly interesting. We start with a very firm imagine of him and then by the end of this book he has really shown us so many more levels to him. I liked Amelia too, she was really funny and I also liked how sweet and sassy she was. I'm interested in seeing how she handles herself in the next book.

I won't go into to much more detail so I don't spoiler anything, but I am definitely more then excited to read the rest of this series!

JJ is my hero! I adore all her books and I adored this one! I'll be honest,I HATE installment series because they're expensive in the long run. But I will buy anything that JJ publishes.

I want more of this and I hope she never stops writing because she's amazing!

OMG I loved this! It was a quick read and so intriguing, so hot and swoony. Amelia and Noah's past heartbreak is affecting their on going movie filming, secrets are being revealed and the romance blooms again on the set the hottest way possible, also I'd totally read Sinners Like Us! Looking forward to the next two!

“The only love that lasts in Hollywood is the one we fake and sell to others.”

Let me offer my advance apologies for the shrinking of the lady boners which will commence in 3, 2, . . . .

When I saw a book about child stars all groweds up and attempting a comeback via a Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets 50 Shades movie I was ALL. OVER. IT. I mean, cheese is my favorite food group and this???? This sounded dangerously cheesy.

Then I began to picture the “child stars” themselves: Miley Cyrus and Shia LeBeouf. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, but AmIRight or AmIRight? America’s sweetheart who is desperate to change her image and the once golden boy who is now all f*&^%d up on drugs????? DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, even though the two aforementioned former stars might be hot messes, you still would probably bang them. I mean seriously, look at Shia LeBeouf’s body . . . It’s just one of those things that has to be your own private dirty little secret because you would never hear the end of it, but your husband wonders why you’re such a Sia fan all of a sudden and keep watching her video on a loop for hours and hours and hours.

Anyway. I had been interested in J.J. McAvoy because Ruthless People sounded like it might be up-my-alley as far as a porny read goes, but since I’m super cheap I was afraid to spend more than zero dollars on it. When I noted Child Star up for grabs I immediately clicked the request button. I was not disappointed. Not only was the story actually fresh for a change - yes, the two were former lovers thrown back together, but the whole child star twist kinda made the tired trope go *poof*. Plus the smex? Whoooooooosssssssaaaaaaaah! Yowza. In case you were curious, eventually I stopped picturing Shia and let my fantasy evolve . . . *drooooooooooooooool*

This book was super hawt, it had a plot, and I can’t wait to read the next one (dammit). While I would loooooooove to give this m-f'er 1 Star simply for the fact that it is a SERIAL and the only thing I hate more than a series is a farking serial(!!!!!), McAvoy is doing it the smart way and the entire thing will be a rap and released as one book around Thanksgiving. What better way to spend some quality time with the family around the holidays then by reading porn?????

#boooooiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnng

Every star. Not even sorry.

This book was written well. I love this author. Everything she writes is gold. So my go to writer. I was worried in the beginning because I totally did not see the love in either characters in the beginning chapters but then it came and I was at piece.

So excited and ready for all the other books in this series. Such an ending.

Woah! This short read packed a solid punch. Usually when it comes to these short serial, I hate that the author will be dangling the goods in front of me, but not let me eat them. But thank goodness J. J. McAvoy isn't that cruel. Trust me, she won't leave you with lady blue balls or keep you in the dark with a stupid cliffhanger. I love that she ended it something I can hold on to.

As per the title, the story revolves around two childstars who are now grown up to be quite a disappointment. Amelia London is trying to maintain her good girl image, while Noah Sloan is maintaining a bad boy image. Both of them used to be each other first love. Now they can't even stand to see each other eye to eye, so how the fuck are they going survive in the same movie.

But the main event is not whether are they gonna bang each other again. There is a whole other kind of craziness happening in the background that lead to their break up in the first place. I'm bracing myself for more of JJ's kind of bizarreness coming up. Can't fucking wait.

"How do I look at you, let alone love you, when I can't even love myself?"

To be post on Amazon on release day

This was absolutely amazing!! A must read. This will stick with you well after you finish and leaves you wanting more.I loved everything about this book, from the plot, to the characters, and that beautiful cover. Heart eyes.

Childstar is about...well child stars. Noah Sloan, the bad boy, and Amelia London, America's Sweetheart, use to date until Noah cheated on Amelia. Both of their managers feel like they need a breakout role before they are forgotten. Sinners Like Us (which I hope will become an actual book someday, because from those snippets, I need those characters in my life) a well loved novel by millions has been optioned for a movie. Austin, Noah's manager, told him this was it, he needs it and that it was made for him. Oliver, Amelia's manager, tells her that she could either take this role and shed her America's Sweetheart role or start doing sitcoms. They both need these roles, because if they don't what would they be if they weren't actors?

I'm not going to get into, because I feel like I would give a lot a way seeing how it's broken into three parts. One thing I will comment on is Amelia going through posts on Twitter. That really broke my heart if you'll believe it. Personally, I can't stand when people are judging an actor/actress on their looks or what movies they been in or how they are perceived in the public eye, when they get a role in their book being made into a movie. And there's one movie that came out this year I think (I don't know,I wasn't on the hype train) I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Where people were basically saying the same thing about a certain actor like the people in the book does to Amelia. Really, I can go on a rant about it, but seeing how it's a book review I shall restrain myself.

Reading from both Amelia's and Noah's POV, it's like you're glimpsing into an actual actor life. Like you're reading a memoir. It's sad actually, the events that played out in this book between those two and I can't wait to read the next two parts to see where their story goes. Jeez, I'm close to crying writing this. I keep telling myself that they're not real, but they feel like actual people.

Before I go, I just want to say...that ending was a shocker. No spoilers!!

The only negative thing I can say about this book is that it ended.

I loved so much about Amelia & Noah. The former child stars/worst enemies/star crossed lovers made for lots of emotionally charged interactions - on set and in the bedroom.

These two characters are perfectly written and the smexy scenes are perfectly written. I am looking forward to the next installment to see where Ms McAvoy will take these two!

It may be short and it may end in an evil cliffhanger that was going to prove that patience was a virtue I still don't have, but the very first installment of Childstar, which also happens to be my first J.J. McAvoy read, is the kind of stuff that book dreams are made of. It isn't just that Amelia London and Noah Sloan have their own intriguing life stories as well as share a love story that gossip shows and tabloids go nuts over. There's more going on here than meets the eye and we get a teeny tiny glimpse of the bigger picture in that evil cliffhanger I mentioned. Yes, it's evil because it leaves you hanging but I'll give it a pass because of two important things: 1. The wait isn't really that long, with all three installments set for release a week apart from each other, and 2. You won't be able to not want to know what happens with these erstwhile lovers.

J.J. McAvoy's has created two lead characters who exemplify the idea that people in Hollywood aren't as flawless as they're presented to be. These two have issues--with their families, the business they're in, and yes, with each other--but as flawed as they are, there's a vulnerability that they share that makes you want to dig deeper and discover the "real" Amelia and Noah. The second chance romance that these two are struggling to grab with both hands while also pushing away piques at my curiosity because while we think we know why they broke up all those years ago, there was way more going on behind the scenes. Let's face it, it's the behind-the-scenes stuff that tends to be juicier and more salacious. So, yes, there's a cliffhanger, but you'll want to hang on because Childstar is already looking to be one heck of riveting ride. Five stars! ♥

4.5 stars

Amelia London is America's sweetheart and an actress since she was a child. Noah Sloan is a bad boy, but he also used to be a child star and co-star of Amelia. They even used to date when they were teenagers, but things didn't end smoothly for them. Now they both need to cast in the upcoming erotic movie Sinners like us , based on a really successful book. Will they be able to put aside their personal conflict in order to make it or they will end up being two forgotten child stars?

"My first kiss? Noah.
My first time? Noah.
My first heartbreak? Noah."

This was short, fun, hot and I just loved it!! I loved the banter between the couple and how at the same time they would get on fire from the moment they would reunite after so many years. It was epic! When he was whispering at her while photoshooting or about to shoot a scene, gosh, I would melt and become a puddle. The guy knew exactly what to say and how to act.

"Did he think I could tie her up, punish her, kiss her, suck every inch of her and make that look tasteful? Sex was not tasteful. Sex is, if you're doing it correctly, pornographic."

I didn't mind the stereotypes 'america's sweetheart, bad boy persona, manipulating parents', because let's face it, when it comes to Hollywood, you've heard and seen it all. I liked how they both seem to have a struggle with their facades though.

"Even after all of those years, Amelia London was still my kryptonite, and she still didn't know it."

Also, I really liked how all this reminded me the Fifty Shades movie. How everyone would hate on the casting, the sign up petitions, the crazy fans etc. I couldn't help but think how realistic this was.

I'm really curious to see how the next parts of the series will shape, because that ending was definitely intriguing and I need to read more. It was so good that I've read this in just a few hours and I truly enjoyed it!

"Amelia, Noah Sloan is and will always be bad news. Nosing around him will only leave you hurt."

"I know." But when it came to Noah, I was apparently a masochist.
