I'm not sure which came first--The Lord of the Rings or this story. I'm not a fan of either. The saving grace of this book--why I rated it two stars instead of one--is the fact that it was written by a child. When I was seven years old I "borrowed" from stories I loved too. Never won any awards for it or got those published though. Reading this book to my daughter, perhaps that was all for good reason.

This book was written years ago by a child, the illustrations are childlike and the story jumps all over. This is not a book I would recommend to anyone. Sorry.

When reading this it must be recognized from the get go that it was written by a child.

If you know this before hand you will not be confused by the "quality of writing" displayed.

During my initial reading of the book I thought "my 9 year old writes better than this". Now I know why.

Fun for the child to have the book published and good for family remembrances but not recommended for a general audience.

This story falls in between targets. The illustration to story ratio isn't high enough for the very young reader, and the level of story telling isn't mature enough to appeal to an older reader. I would not recommend this book.

This was an interesting book. I am assuming that it was written by some younger people. It’s pretty good for kids. The illustrations are not the best, but for kids the entire undertaking is pretty impressive. I would put this in my library to show the kids that you can do something big, even if you are a kid.
