Description
The daughter of one-time rock legends, Emma Maxwell is the good girl of the family, the dutiful sister, the doting aunt, and a dedicated employee in the family party crashing business. Every Wednesday night at Karaoke, she indulges in her secret fantasy of being a singer. Yet the thrill of being on stage doesn't rival the thrill of a spontaneous liaison with the delectable, yet downtrodden, quarterback of the Seattle Steelheads, Tanner Wolfe, Emma's long-time crush.
Tanner didn't see it coming--not any of it. He was blindsided--by his dysfunctional family, his plummeting career, and the one thing he least expected--by love. After photos with Emma go viral, Tanner is caught in a lie and tells a bigger one to get out of it. Now he's shoulder-pads deep in a temporary marriage while struggling to resurrect his disastrous career and reunite his broken family. As time passes, Tanner begins to wonder if temporary is good enough, but he's made a promise to Emma, one which has nothing to do with marriage vows and everything to do with her Nashville singing career and the end of their relationship.
Will Tanner and Emma take the ball and drive for the win, or will they be permanently relegated to the sidelines as the clock runs out on their temporary marriage?

This is the first book I have read in this series and also my first book by this author. The book definitely can be read as a stand alone though I felt I missed alot by not reading the other books.
I really enjoyed this story and the main characters Tanner and Emma. However there were some things I really hated and they turned my stomache that I almost stopped reading. Tanner is a HUGE man slut and you know how some books say he is a manslut this book shows it over and over again. Now this is the part that turned my stomache. Tanner and Emma's sister Bella hook up all the time. In fact Bella tells Emma they hooked up weeks before. It was totally yuck factor. It wasn't even a major point in the story and it does nothing to change the story so it almost made me stop reading. Had this not been a review I would have stopped reading. Sisters sleeping with the same guy weeks before even if its a hookup is just yuck to me.
What makes it worse is Emma has loved Tanner for years. Its hard for to imagine that her sisters have no clue and so what her sister Bella does is even worse and its not just once but they hook up off and on over the years.
Now as I kept reading and thank goodness the author pretty much writes Bella out of the story, I actually really liked Tanner and Emmas relationship. He becomes a wonderful man and he falls for her and I loved watching that happen. He even helps make all Emmas dreams come true and he is 100% faithful to her. I really enjoyed it once the yuck factor ends.
