‘Big Andy’ Cragg’s drunken disclosure to an undercover police officer in a West London pub that he was once party to the disposal of the body of a murder victim sets a sinister and disturbing chain of events in motion for Harry Vicary and his team. A body is found exactly where Cragg said it would be, and the consequent investigation plunges Vicary into a labyrinth world of contract killings, witness intimidation and large-scale money laundering. Can he piece together the clues to uncover why a young woman was so brutally murdered?

When a drunk unknowingly spills his guts to an undercover cop at a pub, the results are frightening. Big Andy boasts that he helped get rid of a body and Andy Vicary and his crew do indeed find a body at the location he said they would, But Vicary’s investigation proves this not a one off, there are other murders, money laundering and the type of activity one would usually related to a mob. Does Vicary have serious big city problems on his turf? Identifying the victim and finding out why she was killed may be his only chance of solving these crimes. A well constructed British police procedural with believable characters
A chance meeting in a pub between an undercover police detective constable and a man who has kept a secret too long. 10 years ago he witnessed the murder of a young girl and her burial. The Police team are investigating money laundering from a recent bank raid. They investigate the murder as it takes priority. They find the girl's remains on an allotment in London. Detective inspector Harry Vickery and his team look to offer some of the minor villains, witness protection if they reveal the men behind this crime. This is the 5th book in this series. Good interesting plot, my only complaint is the dialogue which was very odd. See my full review on Euro-Crime website.
