"Fasten your seat belts and prepare to be entertained!" --Maddy Hunter on Toured to Death

Fanny and Amy Abel, the dynamic mother-and-daughter owners of a NYC travel agency, have just booked their biggest trip yet. But with danger in the air, the itinerary may include murder...

Paisley MacGregor, a maid to the rich, made a dying request to send all of her wealthy employers on a first-class wake to spread her ashes around the world. Amy has her suspicions about these "mourners," especially when one has a life-threatening "accident" at the first stop in Paris. And when a mysterious American stranger tagging along with the group has his ticket punched in the shadow of the Taj Mahal, Amy knows she may have a killer on her tour.

Who was this stranger, and what's the connection to someone in her group? Digging for clues while continuing on with the trip is a lot for Amy to manage, especially when another mourner has a possibly fatal encounter with a Hawaiian volcano. Back in the States, Fanny and Amy start to piece together a secret worth killing for, but someone is hot on their trail, and ready to send them on a one-way trip--to the morgue!

Review: DEARLY DEPARTED by Hy Conrad

DEARLY DEPARTED is a truly cool cozy, truly delightful: engrossing, at times dangerous, at times light-hearted, variably romantic, humorous, wraparound comfy: the perfect kind of cozy. I must read the first in the series (TOURED TO DEATH; DEARLY DEPARTED is #2 in the AMY'S TRAVEL MYSTERY Series). Amy and mother Fanny are a pair of enterprising travel agents [and in this era of online travel booking, "enterprising" is essential). With a flair for the dramatic and outre, they're following up the first fatal mystery-road rally with a five-stop global tour to wake the late former maid, Paisley MacGregor. Several former employers will drink, dine, and commemorate the exceptional MacGregor while strewing her ashes. What could possibly go wrong? What, indeed!

Dearly Departed is the second in the Amy's Travel mystery series by Hy Conrad. After her last big trip included a real murder, Amy is determined not to put on a second murder mystery road rally. She wants to distance herself as much as possible from those awful memories. Organizing a round the world trip to scatter the ashes of a dead woman will be difficult, but she's sure that it will be safe. Until the accident...and the murder. I enjoyed this one even more than I did Toured to Death, the first book in the series. The mystery is more complex than most of the cozies I've read and it kept me guessing until the very end.

As owners of a NYC travel agency, Fanny and Abel have wonderful adventures in every book but this is the most outstanding mystery yet as they take on a sleuth that is pure reading delight to the reader. Dealing with a trip of mourners to spread ashes of a wealthy person, they detect trouble and the sleuth begins. the cast of charachaters are extrodinary . Its a wonderful blend of locations, fun charachaters and witty repartee throughoout. This series is a delight from beginning to end. The Mother daughter sleuth team is always done with perfection and adds to the mystery as they investigate together . I highly recommend Dearly Departed to all mystery fan and cozy readers. Thank you for the advance reading copy Kensington Books with gratitude.

such a fun read! I wish Amy knew how lucky she was to have such a cast of characters in her life. I'd love a mom like Fanny and especially a guy like Marcus. I loved the storyline, the travel itinerary, the whodunnits. I found meld googling at write a few points. I'm going to download book 1 so that I can be caught up!, I totally recommend this book. Great cozy fun.

What a fun book, twist and turns and mad plot and characters, but it worked for me. A mystery with a bit of everything a bit like the blog quoted in the book - make it up as we go along. But it as really readable and one becomes engrossed with the characters to the point that you are reading on into the night just to see what happens next. Cosy meets everything else. Sad when I finished it.
