Lots of pictures and good ideas for low carb food. Many of the recipies were new to me. I think people would enjoy having this cookbook in their collection.
A huge collection of low carb recipes from breakfast , soup , salad , snack , mains ,sidedishes and desserts. A perfect book for weight watchers.........
Nourish and NetGalley provided me with a copy of The Top 100 Low-Carb Recipes, in exchange for an honest review.
Cookbook author Nicola Graimes has developed a well laid out, cohesive look into low-carb recipes. From Breakfast and Brunches to Desserts, this cookbook provides the means for delving into the area of low-carb cooking. As the author states in the introduction on page 7: "The recipes have been created to fit in with our fast-paced lives; they're simple and in the main quick to prepare, making the most of fresh, quality ingredients from many cuisines around the world."
The recipes that I am most excited to try are the following:
From the soup section Thai Chicken Broth (p. 22)
Pistou (p. 22)
From Salads, Light Meals and Snacks Quinoa Tabbouleh (p. 43)
Marinated Salmon in Lime and Ginger (p. 101)
Thai Green Vegetable Curry (p. 120)
From Side Dishes Spicy Chickpeas and Spinach (p. 128)
From Desserts Mango and Lime with Pineapple Granita (p. 140)
The only negative to The Top 100 Low-Carb Recipes is that I wish there were more photographs accompanying the recipes. The visuals that are currently in the book are both stunning and inspiring, which will attract readers to those recipes. I look forward to trying all of the recipes in The Top 100 Low-Carb Recipes cookbook and I would recommend it to those who wish to try something new that tastes delicious.
This was a great cookbook that really explained what good and bad carbs are as well as the carbs count for each of the recipes in the book. One draw back was that I wish there were more pictures, but that is a personal preference and has nothing to do with the solid information and recipes provided in this book. For the main meals the book also suggested what to eat with the meal (like a simple pepper salad). Another thing that I liked was that most of the meals were for two people which works out for me but if you are going to be cooking for more people you will have to double the recipes. Overall a great book that can be used in numerous ways.
