Description
When the headless body of his fellow park ranger is found amidst the wooded hills of the Sybilline Mountains National Park, Sebastiano Cangio is convinced that he himself was the intended target. But what was Marzio doing out there on his own at dead of night? Is there any truth behind the wild stories of elves and goblins being seen in the surrounding forest?
Dismissive of the rumours of black magic and Satanism, Cangio is convinced that Marzio’s death heralds the return of the ‘ndrangheta, the most formidable criminal organization in Italy. If he is to escape their clutches a second time and uncover the truth about his colleague’s death, Cangio must take the initiative, draw on his finely-honed survival instincts and … think wolf.

Think Wolf Michael Gregorio
A Mafia thriller set in rural Italy. This is the second Cangio book. I plan on getting the first one. There are some references to "Cry Wolf" but this second book could stand alone.
Cangio is back on the job as park ranger, after recovering from a gunshot would He just wants to do his job and keep up his study of the wolves. But peace for him is not to be. There are other things in the woods much deadlier than wolves. Following the story and trying to figure it out is the best part of a really good mystery. This book had everything needed to make it a great read. Plus, I got a look at how a different country's police work. Not to much different from ours. Checked on the location for Cangio's ranger duties and thought it was perfect. When Cangio needed to center his mind he would "Think Wolf" What would the wolf do, it helped him in several tight spots.
The book's cover is perfect with the lone wolf and the mist in the trees. Spooky.
This is a well written novel and I recommend it highly.
