Description
Since he was thirteen years old, rockstar Webb Turner pined for Bree, the enigmatic girl across the street. He captured her in his songs, but never in his orbit. His lyrics about her propelled Webb's band to superstardom, but his fame came with the price of finding real love.
When he discovers that Bree is dying, Webb leaves a stadium full of adoring fans to be at her side. As a blizzard batters the east coast, will Webb succeed in his fight against the storm and the mistakes of his past for a chance to say one last goodbye?

A Note From the Publisher
Born in Toledo, Ohio, and raised in the North Hills of Pittsburgh, Leslie Welch spent most of her youth concocting elaborate stories. Her high school English teacher encouraged her to turn these creative lies into creative fiction. By some miracle (according to Leslie), her writing skills persuaded Penn State University to accept her. Between her bartending shifts, she studied Fiction Writing and Communications.
Today, Leslie writes at least a thousand words a day on DC Metro orange line trains. Most of them perish behind the delete button. She co-wrote her first book in Harrisburg hotel rooms and diners with her best friend, and is now excited to be releasing the first book with her name independently on the cover.
When she's not off exploring the world (or getting caught in irons on Roanoke Sound), Leslie lives in a house full of laughter outside of Washington, D.C., with her soul mate, two cats, two dogs, two fish, and a teenager.

Advance Praise
“I got motion sickness on the metro because I couldn't stop reading The Goodbyes by Leslie Welch.”
- Deborah Siegel, Author, The Popularity Plan
“The Goodbyes captures the fragility, anger, and sexual exploration of a modern American adolescence. Webb Turner is a complex character grappling with coming of age in an era when talent and fame can minimize the deeper journey toward adulthood. It's an exciting story that showcases how music can not only pull us back into memories, but also propel us forward into new moments full of hope.”
- Laura Berry, Owner and CEO, Cogberry Creative
“Leslie Welch has a knack for making you feel. You love her characters, you sympathize with them, and sometimes you just want to knock some sense into them. The Goodbyes takes you for an emotional ride down the road to adulthood. For anyone who has ever pined, I highly recommend The Goodbyes.”
