Another wonderful book from Sandra Markle. This book shows young readers that science is an ongoing search for understanding. In this case, we see scientists trying to save Amur leopards from extinction, and so far they have been successful. Large color photographs and captions that encourage readers to look closely at them add to the reading experience.
Markle shows again why she's so popular with young readers. The story of these amazing, endangered animals is written with elementary age children in mind, with beautiful photos, large font and clear and concise text that informs without overwhelming. Highly recommended
I really liked this picture book about the Amur Leopards of Russia. It gave great background information about why the leopards are so endangered as well as information about the scientists working to save the leopards. My students are going to love this one.
