Such a perfect book for us.
I'm a home school mom with a Preschooler and a Kindergarten student too. We also just got chickens of our own this spring. This book was so much fun to go through with my two girls.
The girls loved the pictures and all the neat facts I could read out to them. It's something I can see us going back to over and over as a reference item. Plus the girls just think it's so much fun to look through. As they get older and learn to read I could see this book becoming a fast favorite!

This book is exactly as the series says, Animal Bites. There are so many facts in this book that something is going to draw in any reader. This book describes many aspects of Farm Life. With the majority of people living in cities, this is a great way for kids to learn about farm animals, life on the farm, working farms, showing animals at fairs, petting zoos etcetera. It talks about habitats, adaptations, family life and more. The photos in this book are amazing. They are so close you feel like you can touch the animals. The special sections on the side that include cool animal facts, simple infographics, and illustrated maps of Earth and where various animals live, the "just like me" sections etc. are sure to invite discussion and further investigation. I loved the section on "odd couples" showing different animals that are inseparable but of different species. The back of the book that includes farm activities, further resources and an extensive Glossary. I love that a portion of the proceeds will benefit Animal Planet's R.O.A.R. (Reach Out. Act. Respond.) project which partners with leading animal organization to make the world a better place for domestic and wild animals.

This book would be a great addition to a school or class library, especially those learning about life on a farm, where things come from, as well as farming jobs.

Informative, colorful and fun to read. Perfect for kids!

Beautiful colorful pictures. Very educational. This would have been a great book to have if my grandparents were still with us. They had a farm and I remember visiting there as a child.

My daughter, Ashleigh, loves horses. The section, "Horses on the farm", Ashleigh would love. The one thing I had no idea about is that rabbits compete in jumping hopping contests. Another thing I did not know is that ducklings do not fly until they are 8 weeks old.

Great farm activities at the end of the book!

This is an animal book done right. Information is done in “Animal Bites”, small tid bits just perfect for kids with wandering minds. That being said the graphics and page layouts are intriguing and make someone want to see the next page. Since this is about farms we look at farm animals and their various varieties. A favorite thing is the “worthy” sections. Are they Selfie Worthy? Besty Worthy? Very well done Animal Planet.
