Description

Rancher Caitlin Olsen is in complete control of her life. After years of taking care of others, she’s on her own and loving every minute. She has her horses and her ranch. What more does she need? Yet deep inside, she yearns to give up all her responsibilities and simply experience life. When a friend suggests she try a bit of BDSM role-play, she does her research and accepts an invitation to Pleasure Manor for a fairy tale event.

Former Navy SEAL and Dominant, Damon Steele is a loner. His failure to keep his team alive destroyed too many hopes and dreams. He won’t be responsible for anyone else's life or happiness ever again. There’s no room in his life—or his heart—for romance. Instead, he satisfies his needs at BDSM clubs and never with the same sub. Taking part in the fairy tale event at Pleasure Manor is difficult enough, but when Beauty challenges him both in the bedroom and out, he’s not sure he can control his inner beast.

Rancher Caitlin Olsen is in complete control of her life. After years of taking care of others, she’s on her own and loving every minute. She has her horses and her ranch. What more does she need?...

Beauty Submits to her Beast is the fourth book in the Once Upon a Dom series. I chose this book when I was looking through books to read for review purposes, and let me tell you, I'm so very glad I did. I'm so excited, I plan on going back and buying the first three books in the series straightaway and spending the weekend reading. Sydney St. Claire does a tremendous job in this book dealing with the PTSD that our hero, Damon Steele is experiencing after going through the horrors of war. As a family member and friend of several veterans, it did my heart proud to see how she had Caitlin deal with Damon.

Caitlin has had it rather rough in life. She has spent her childhood basically raising her two younger siblings and caring for her mother who had MS. Now she's the owner of a horse ranch that rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected horses. She also needs a break from being in charge and in control all of the time. So, off to Pleasure Manor she goes for a 3-day Fairy Tale themed weekend where she will play Belle to Damon's Beast.

As I said...Loved it, Loved it, LOVED IT!!! It was extremely well written and the sex scenes were hotter than the equator without air conditioning. Damon was a very sexy, alpha Dom, who had demons to deal with, including both physical limitations and ptsd that made him feel not worthy of Caitlin. As always, there's a HEA, but getting there takes some work, and that's where Ms St.Claire truly shined in this book.

Ultimately Disappointing By A Wisconsin Reader on June 5, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Sigh. I really wanted to love this book, but I didn't. It had all of the right elements; a wounded but strong alpha hero, a feisty but ultimately submissive heroine, a fairy-tale mansion for the setting, and lots of steamy sex. Unfortunately, the execution of this novel was disappointing.

The setting of the majority of the book was a beautiful mansion where a BDSM weekend was taking place. There are earlier books in the series all of which take place at the same weekend, thus giving each book a different focus of the same event. It is a clever and intriguing idea.

The focus of a book like this is the sexual interactions of the hero and heroine, and these were plentiful and well-written. The one problem was the unlikable character of the heroine: the author was aiming at feisty and strong, but the heroine struck me as rude, uncooperative, and unyielding, especially at first. She eventually came around, but by then I already didn't like her and my opinion did not change. The hero, on the other hand, was patient and a good Dom, although he had his own personal problems.

My biggest problem with this book was the ending which was predictable, hokey, and a bit silly. I don't want to give any spoilers, so I will just say that if the book had ended differently I would probably have given it four stars instead of three.

I loved this book. I haven't read the others in the series (but I will!!) and this one definitely can stand alone. It was kinky from page one and hot hot hot. Caitlin isn't sure she is submissive, but craves the release she know she'll get if she agrees to spend a weekend at the fairytale event. She doesn't meet her "beast" until she arrives in his room, and it's full-tilt on from there forward. Damon was a tortured hero (In my opinion, with good reason) and it was great to see him lose some of his rigidness as he spent time with Caitlin. Don't be fooled, most of this book is sex, but it's so hot and seamless. It truly embodies what "erotica" is meant to be...without the sex there is no story...and it's a great story. *Provided by net galley for my honest opinion.

Beauty certainly meets the criteria of erotic with most of the book taking place at a weekend pleasure retreat. For me, it seems as though was secondary to the events of the retreat. I could not really get into the characters and struggled with believing that they feel in love as a result of a BDSM weekend.

Caitlin has complete control over her life, running her ranch and finally on her own and loving it. Yet a part of her wants to give up all that control and just experience life. A friend suggest she try a bit of BDSM role-play and ends up going the Pleasure Manor fairy tale event. Damon is a Dom and former Navy SEAL that holds himself responsible for the death of his team. When a friend asks him to take on a new sub he says no, until he sees his beauty. This is a fast paced good read. The chemistry between these two is very hot and the story weaves together nicely. I really liked it.

A new take on the beauty and the beast version.

In this version. Beauty is not a complete submissive. Who she is in her personal life does not allow her to submissive. She is a take charge kind of gal. She has to, since she is a rancher.

Beast is hurt physically as well as emotionally... In other words a wounded hero.

An erotic retreat brings together these two.

For me, to an extent it was very good book. I just think more could have been shown, regarding their relationship. It would have been nice to see them getting to know each other more outside of the this 'erotic retreat', Otherwise, a great book. Passionate chemistry between both. But from t:e first time they met I could see their relationship was more than pleasure , satisfaction and domination.

So, I'm always up for a book with a damaged hero who falls for a woman that can save him from his woes in life. This is a loose spin on the Beauty and the Beast story, with Damon, a wounded veteran being the Beast and Caitie being the normally independent, but in need of a break from all that responsibility Beauty. Add in a weekend at a BDSM sex retreat (themed to fit into the whole fantasy Beauty and the Beast story line of course) and you have a steamy romp filled with D/s. The blurb of this book caught my attention right awhile and while it didn't blow me away after reading it, I did enjoy it a good bit. I'd say this is a solid 3.5 star read I rounded up to 4 because the BDSM was hot and I was intrigued by the two main characters. Most of the story takes place over the course of the previously mentioned weekend and that is what left me wanting. I wanted much more of the after time where we could see these two grow and evolve as characters and a couple. If I had some more in that regard this would have been more of a 4.5 star read for me. Still very enjoyable and I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for more books by this author.

A wonderful yet short book. BDSM, PTSD, and holy crap role playing at the Pleasure Manor to play Belle to Damon's Beast. There is a lot to be said for rewriting fairy tales for adults.

Yeah....I have to admit I love all aspects of this book. Watching Damon (a Dom) with PTSD deal with his demons and get his HEA with Caitlin I refuse to say more. This is one book you will want to experience yourself. The author did a wonderful job with her writing and descriptions though out this story.

Short...but fantastic~

I generously received an arc in exchange for a honest review from Netgalley. I love the kingdom of dom series and Belle and her beast made me fall more in love with it. Catlin is in control of everything in her life as the owner of a horse ranch and for years she took care of her sick mom and younger siblings. Never having a childhood of her own. But when a friend tell her about the Pleasure manor and there orgasims given out like candy at trick or treat she in. But she doesn't think she a sub at all she likes calling the shots. But when she meets her dom Damon she doesntcare she just wants this man. Damon very much like the beast after losing his men in war and blaming himself he doesn't see any hope until Catie. Can this boss women save this even bossier man? I loved how hot these stories are but how you get a story and real life thrown in.
