It was only supposed to be one hookup. One hot night to ease the mating urge of his race’s fertile period.
But after scorching, up-against-the-wall sex in a darkened club, Tanner can’t get Saige out of his mind. And when he spots her the next day, in league with an enemy, he’s determined to uncover more about her than her delectable curves.
Saige knows Tanner is one of the good guys. And that’s why she can never see him again.
Her life has crumbled into a horrific turmoil, forced to aid criminals in kidnapping men for bloody arena fights. Held against her will, she has no hope of escape from her captors.
Determination rages through Tanner until he tracks Saige down. But rescuing her from her jailers’ sadistic whims means entering her underground hell. Posing as her victim and locked in a cell, he must find a way to save them both before he is pushed into a fight to the death.

Advance Praise
"The story is quick and steamy and we're allowed to get in the both of their heads as they work to help each other and also figure out their connection. If anything I wish the story would have been longer because I enjoyed it so much! " - Book Junky Girls
"I have yet to be disappointed with a Sharon Kay story. Captive's Kiss appealed to me in more then one way. I enjoyed the carnality of the story along with the warrior rescuing the woman that he thought originally betrayed him because she worked for the enemy. " -- Marie's Tempting Reads

I just love this series!! While this is shorter than normal we still see plenty of Watcher ass kicking and some steamy moments between our leads Tanner and Saige. Despite the shortness of the story it flowed quickly and provided us all with plot and not just sex and no story. If you haven't read any of the Watcher series it's not necessary to enjoy this but I highly recommend it. Can't wait for Rhys story!
This was a complimentary e-copy provided by the author/publisher in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.
Sizzling solstice shenanigans lead to rescue of captives…is the headline I might lead with if writing a column for a paper…or perhaps the first three words with the rest underneath. And, that is just what this book delivers!
Tanner, a Watcher, and his team are in Halice, Torth with many others at the time of year when mating urges run high. Tanner gets a whiff of someone he has to find and there was Saige and she was just as eager to scratch an itch as he was. Neither knew that their interaction would lead to a whole lot more and end in a HEA for the two of them.
Since this is novella length I won’t give you details. I will say that if you want a well written paranormal romance with a bit of steam then I believe you will enjoy this book. This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be my last.
Thank you to the author who bequeathed me a copy of her novella through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
It was supposed to be a one night hook up with Saige to ease the mating urge, Tanner is a lash demon and during Solstice is their fertile period. He can’t get her out of his mind and wants to find out more about her, what he learns isn’t good. He poses as one of her kidnapped victims who will be forced to fight to the death, will he be able to save them in time? Great paranormal read. Loved the characters, the story held my interest from beginning to end.
Captive’s Kiss was my first book by Sharon Kay and if she writes more paranormal romance like she wrote this book I will be definitely reading them all.
Captive’s Kiss was a fast pace romance about Saige who is being coerced into leading other paranormal beings to their death. She thought there was no chance of living another way, until one night she meets Tanner.
Tanner and his other warrior brothers was on the town for one purpose and that is take care of the mating urge that strikes his people. Following a scent, leads him to Saige, where they have their one night of hot passion. But to Tanner that one night wasn’t enough.
How can he handle a new mission of finding the young men that has going mission, when he can’t stop thinking about Saige?
Captive’s Kiss even though it was only 97 pages long, the characters were well developed with no plot holds. Tanner and Saige story was beautifully told. Only thing I was upset about was that the story ended. But all good things must come to an end.
This was a sweet short read. It takes place in the realms and the Watchers are a group of policing beings, Lash Demons. It happens to be mating season, and Tanner meets his match in Saige.
Saige isn't quite the demon he thought she was, she's more and she has some big secrets. Trying to keep her brother and herself alive she has been kidnapping men for an underground fight ring run by the Vipers. She continually battles herself since this endeavor is not her choice and she feels guilty over keeping herself and her brother alive.
I liked the dialog between the characters and hope to see more of them. I do wish that it had been longer but mostly because I loved the premise of this book, and who really ever wants a good book to be over?
This was a short read but there was action, romance and great characters. It is definitely a great installment from Ms. Kay
