Broken…

Shattered…

Evangelina Ricci is trapped in a world that’s a never-ending nightmare, a constant ache in which consumes her every breath. Unable to bear the torture any longer, she does the one thing she can to take back control.

Run.

With her best friend Jace in tow, Evangelina attempts to escape her darkened past by leaving for college and diving head first into an aggressive schedule, determined to make a name for herself. There’s only one problem—she can’t run away from the demons she struggles with. The demons that’ll forever be there, locked inside, battering her soul. Hiding behind a flawless façade, Evangelina faces her ghosts until her world is turned upside down, invaded by…him.

Blake Turner. Sweet, witty, flirtatious and drop-dead gorgeous, he finds Evangelina at every turn. Scared he’ll uncover the truth she keeps so well guarded, Evangelina tries her best to put on her act, deterring him like she has so many times before. But this guy is different. He’s relentless. Utterly, absolutely and completely relentless. He sees her and he wants her and won’t stop until she’s his.

Will Evangelina succeed in pushing Blake away? Or will he break down her walls and be the person to make her realize life is worth living?

I am reeling from this book. It is an emotional powerhouse. The author says that she spent three years pouring herself into this book, and it is evident throughout. The characters are so realistic, and the descriptions of what they are doing, feeling, etc. are spot on. There is no way to not be pulled into this book and root for these characters. It is well written, well edited, and just plain well done.

This book was incredibly intense. Eva's story is so sad and she is trying so hard to be a survivor but she has made some bad decisions. There was some slow parts to this book but the story was heartfelt and had real qualities. This is a great debut novel.

This was another cliffhanger ending that put me right on edge. Ms. Grande please complete the next book and put us out of our misery? Please? We need to know what happens!!!

I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

First off, cliffhanger?! Really? I haven't encountered one in ages. Thanks for that, by the way.
Now, the number of times I swooned was literally interminable. The first date was so damn alluring! Blake was irresistibly charming. And Jace was such a sweetheart, I loved how close he was to Eva and how they had their own inside jokes and certain tendencies. Sandra's accident had such a great impact on the story; a turning point that was clearly essential. I basically knew what Eva had been experiencing before running away to uni from the very first chapter, but I didn't expect it to be a little different from what I formerly thought it was; so that came as a shock. Eva sometimes served as a pain in the ass, some of her decisions I did not necessarily understand. But I could tell how much time Grande spent materializing her characters and their personalities. The way she wrote the book made it look so easy, but the aptitude was apparent.
I NEED A DAMN SEQUEL RIGHT NOW.

Actual ratings= I can't even. it's way beyond 5 stars

Why isn't this author more popular??????? And this is her debut novel??????? Woman you are in CoHo league!!!!!!!

This book bled me alive. It just left me raw. I can't describe this feeling in words. This book was one of the most amazing things I've read this year. I really don't know how to explain this. I just feel as if I've been flayed alive or something (Gross, I know but I'm trying to send my feelings through). I think I would cry if anyone even says hi to me right now (Thank god noone's around).

The story is beyond beautiful. It is so sad and sorrowful and in the same time you feel so happy reading it. I cried for Eva. This girl is a beautiful, strong girl and she deserves so much more in life. She made a tiny mistake of not fighting back and it has eaten her spirit away. And the saddest part is this girl has so much to offer to the world. Watching her life and spirit slipping away, I just couldn't handle my own feelings.

Blake. Oh sweet Blake. I have no words for him either. He is one of the most patient and sweetest people I've read about. He's not the meek, sweet type either. He's hot when he has to be and super sweet when he has to be. He wasn't perfect. But neither was he perfect in an imperfect way. I won't use the word perfect. There was something more realistic in him. I really want the second book to know what happened to him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (both of them actually)

Like i was saying, I just don't know how to put the feelings I have after reading this into words. I really can't. Miss Grande, you've done a beautiful job. It's beyond great. The story touched my heart and ripped it out and sent it flying. No other words to describe this. We need more authors like this. Also this was the first time I read the acknowledgement of any book and I loved how you poured your heart into it. A job well done Ms. Grande. Hopefully we'll get a second book soon.

I can't add any gifs. There aren't any proper gifs to explain this book.
Also warning, don't read it with people around. Your emotions will be so high, you'll most probably end up screaming at them.

I want to read the book again but I'm scared to have my heart broken again.

Evangelina hopes that by being away at college with her best friend Jace she will finally be able to put behind some demons that have been haunting her since reaching puberty. What Evangelina doesn't realize is that she will need to face those demons before being able to have a real relationship with Blake who has somehow started to tear down Evangelina aka Angel's walls. Blake knows that something traumatic has happened in Angel's past, but she is very closed off about what exactly happened. Blake works his way into her life and heart and Angel begins to trust him. .

This was a fantastic read that will have you laughing out loud and crying at the same time. I absolutely loved the connection that Blake and Angel have. They started out by Blake proclaiming he is her best friend forever, but then they decide to take their relationship to the next level and who wouldn't love the preparations Blake put into their first real date. Their romance although nonexistent at first starts heating up soon enough. Unfortunately by the end of the book, a series of events lead Angel to pull away from Blake once again. Hopefully Blake will be able to stand by Angel.

This is the first Celeste Grande book I have read and let me tell you, I definitely be adding her to my list of favorite authors. I am anxiously awaiting the next installment to this series.

Live Me by Celeste Grande was just the book I needed. Funny thing is, like the best loves, I didn’t know until I found it.

Evangelina Ricci leaves her hometown and attempts to escape her dark past by leaving for college with her bff Jace. There, she finds Blake; kind, sweet and gorgeous Blake. Who is determined to make her his, no matter how hard she tries to drive him away or how broken she really is.

If you are looking for a New Adult book, with college setting, a broken but fierce MC and a swoon worthy love interest ready to put all the pieces back together… well, this is for you. Live me is seriously hot, heart wrenching and corny. Yes, you read right, it has quite a lot of cheese but in all the right places. Blake, the love interest, is a very intense character with a huge repertory of the perfect-est, loveliest, cheesiest things to say. But let me tell you, his corniness is only swoony.

Let’s just say that Blake is drool inducing at the very least.

Evangelina, on the other hand, is a walking disaster. She is a mess of emotions and she lets herself continuously drown in her traumatic past. It was very frustrating for me to read how she wouldn’t open up and free herself by telling the truth about her traumatic past to Blake and her family. The author tackles a very serious issue, sexual abuse, and shows the consequences of getting stuck in said past and wrongfully assume all the blame. It amazes me how a victim’s mind morphs and shapes certain events after being conditioned enough by the attacker. So, yes, I spent the whole time wanting very hard for Evangelina to break free. Her story is truly heartbreaking and sadly it reflects the reality of a lot of women.

Evangelina was not an easy voice to read, the book is written in her pov, contrary to most NA books I usually read in dual povs. I would have loved to read a few chapters in Blake’s perspective, even if his character is not very troubled and most of the time speaks his mind very clearly. But he falls in love so fast and so hard… I’m just curious to know what was going through his mind. And I also wonder how he doesn’t notice certain things towards the ending of the book.

AND SPEAKING OF THE ENDING. Mother of cliffhangers! When I requested this book in Netgalley, I had no idea this was a series!

… Now I wait until the next book is released.

Oh wow! This story was so great! It’s not your usual romance where girl meets boy and everything is perfect. No!

It’s real! It’s beautiful! It’s ugly! It’s EMOTIONNAL!

Eva has been a victim of sexual abuse in the past years. To start fresh, she goes to college away from home. She’s this girl afraid to let people in. On a party night, she meets a kind boy who sees the real her. At first sight there’s an indisputable connection between them, but she flies away rapidly. Blake seems to see the broken girl in her. With perseverance and a few other meeting between them, he soon finds himself friend with her. But with their mutual attraction will Eva give him a chance to make it more?

It’s been a long time since I had the chance to meet a book boyfriend like Blake. Such perfection! Sweet, thoughtful, tender and patient! He is paying attention to Eva’s needs, giving her the control in their relationship. He knows how to treat her. I loved him so much! Eva is an heroine completely haunted by her bad memories that never disappear, but with the help of Blake, she finally has a little break from it all and can breathe again. But her demons are still never very far away and Blake must demonstrate time and time again that he can be her source of strength. I liked her, but I thought she was hard on herself and had a trust issue with the people she cares for by not divulging her deepest secret. Their emotional connection was a deep one, where every actions and feelings was felt tremendously.

I was left shattered by this book! This poignant story was filled with struggles and darkness, but also love and hope. The way it ended! What a cliffhanger! I highly recommend it! It was sensational!
