I liked this book, but I was upset about the lack of explanation about the curse on her and her sisters. It was never explained very well about why and how. In spite of that, I did enjoy the book. I liked the characters and the way they interacted.
This book was just okay, nothing memorable nor a keeper for me. Amelia is cursed, it takes a while to find out about the curse it is only hinted at, and for me I thought I was missing something. This book felt like the second in a series, maybe it is, and that I missed out on background information by not reading the first book. Anyway, Amelia has to tell the truth or she gets sick, she has become - according to her sister - tough and sarcastic and scares men away. Amelia meets Tavis out by her father's stables at a ball one night and they share a kiss. He asks her to run away with him and she ends up agreeing.
But Tavis isn't who Amelia thinks he is, he is actually the man her father wanted her to meet that night, but she didn't want to. Just seemed like silliness to me, she disappears and her family doesn't follow?
Nothing passionate about this book either, Tavis and Amelia don't even seem to really like each other. I felt their thoughts were all over the place and never got a good feel for either character. Not my favorite book.
