3.5 Stars Kit a emotionally immature 39 year lawyer falls in love with Aiden the party planner she hired for her niece's wedding. The book had humor, steamy repetitive love scenes and a HEA but I found this book too long. It had too much description at times. It have minor editing problems such as the four little words "I love you" and delivering lunch after 6pm?
Great story, the characters are well written. I enjoy reading it.
HOT! HOT! HOT! This is a scorcher! Loved the chemistry between Aiden and Kit. If you love books with family members matchmaking and old boyfriends you will want to pick up this book. I'd definitely read other books by this author.
I knew, when I started this book, that it was going to be a great read!
It's sad and funny and heart-warming, all in one. I love a book that makes me laugh one minute and wanting to cry the next.
Definitely 5 stars!
This is a great romance about a couple that is slightly more mature than the average romance couple. Katherine is a successful high-powered San Francisco attorney who is returning to her small town Southern roots for the wedding of her beloved niece, whose wedding she is financing. Aiden is the owner of a large event planning company, who has agreed to take on the planning of this wedding across the country despite being the owner and having never actually met Katherine except via text and email.
Katherine and Aiden connect in most unexpected ways throughout the story- helped along by numerous matchmakers including one of Katherine's former beaus. These interactions along with Katherine's unorthodox Southern family, friends, and foes make the story laugh out loud funny. Aiden's attention to detail and care of Katherine make the romance one that makes a reader swoon and sizzle.
This is a fun story with a lot of heat!
Kat left here home of Georgia for California almost twenty years ago. She has been back only a few times and that is fine with her. A mother who she feels is to controlling, and an ex who slept with her supposed friend after they broke up before the prom. She is now going back home for her niece’s wedding that is planning and paying for. Her niece has been working with her and living with in California since she went there for college. Kat now a successful attorney owning her own firm wants to do this for her niece because her niece helped her as well and she not only like her, but her fiancé. The fireworks to this story begin as soon as she arrives in Georgia and do not let up until the end. There is arguing, finding love, and dealing with her ex, and the now grown woman she still does not care for that he broke up for. The big part of this story is the surprise love story for Kat, and that for me is what makes this a fantastic book. I do not want to spoil it, but the characters are made to feel real and it has that southern charm at times. A good book.
I was graciously provided an arc in exchange for a honest review by Netgalley. Katherine Boon left her hometown sfter her high school sweetheart breaks her heart and to excape her controlling mom. 20 years later she back to get her niece married and get back to her life in California. Shd never expected to have a hot one night stand with a rocker, who just happens to be planning the wedding. Aiden Spencer may plzn wedding he just doesn't want one. Until Kat, nohe needs to convince her. I loved thid story is was a cute loving story that flowed great and had great characters. Ill definitely read more from this author
This is a good story but I found the characters frustrating.
Loved Maybe I do! Kit & AJ are so hot together & the story just sorta sucks you in. The author does such a great job of making the characters come to life & as the reader you feel like you are in the same room watching everything that is going on.
Loved the southern "rules" of behavior & Kat (Kit's older sister) is just a gem. I love forward to reading more by Allie Fisher.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Maybe I Do is an enjoyable romance, Katherine a 39year old lawyer has an earth moving one night stand with a man she discovers is the wedding planner she has hired to organise her nieces southern wedding.
Aiden is immediately smitten and chases her relentlessly, Katherine though has severe trust issues after having her heart broken years previously by her childhood sweetheart who also enters the mix.
This story develops well with many humorous moments, some scorching sex scenes and good well rounded characters.
My only niggle was the actual book cover, terrible photo considering the ages of the main characters, nearly ignored the book because of it, but fortunately was able to overlook it after reading favourable reviews.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book.
Really enjoyed this book. I can relate to caring about someone only to have them break your heart. It is not easy to allow yourself to love or be loved. The storyline is good and the characters are fun. Big / close families always have a busy body which everyone loves to hate but not forever.....I read this book in one day....No laundry or any other housework!!! thx
I received a free copy of Maybe I Do in exchange for an honest review. The entire plot of the book only spanned a few weeks. Aiden and Katherine met, slept together, fell in love, had a spat, and made up very quickly with the cliche happy ending. I enjoyed the book, and the writing was well done, but there was nothing unique or spectacular that would make me recommend this book to friends and family.
This book was a quick, funny, smart, romance book. I enjoyed the great character development and well written steamy scenes.
I love a good rom com and this was no exception. I found myself laughing at times, and at others, wanting to cry. I did feel that the story could've been a little more concise, but overall, I really enjoyed the characters and the author's writing style! Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!
