Description
This menu-driven cookbook offers twelve beautifully crafted meals derived from more than one hundred sold-out evening events at Salt Water Farm, the author’s cooking school in Maine. Even if you can’t make it to one of Annemarie’s monthly Full Moon Suppers, you can re-create them at home, beneath a full moon—or any night—for family and friends.
Each supper includes a portrait of the month: its climate, its rewards, and its ritual kitchen tasks—and a menu inspired by those characteristics. A Full Moon Supper is not only a celebration of the earth and its bounty but a reward for the hard work that goes into food production. These meals pay respect to the elements, the conditions of the earth, soil, and sea, and seasonal traditions as we round the lunar cycle.

Full Moon Suppers at Salt Water Farm
This glorious cookbook had the most wanderlust-worthy, mouthwatering photos! If I can't make my way over to Salt Water Farm, I certainly want to recreate one of their events for my nearest and dearest!
A great recommendation for those that long for a "Back To Basics' approach to their cooking, and for anyone that loves to entertain.
I love the arrangement of the book by moon names! Makes me want to start having full moon parties myself! And the recipes sound wonderful. Such variety! I need to get to farmers markets more often. I grow a lot of my own veggies and herb, but only a very small plot. Farmers markets are the way to source some of the veggies and fruits. Many vendors even have meats now. Great recipe book with lots of homey details about the authors farm, family, friends, businesses and, of course, lots of great photos! A welcome addition to any cooks book shelf!
