"Not only is this book well written and beautifully illustrated, but the P.I. Penguin series also incorporates rich rhyme, meter, and vocabulary to keep readers engaged and enchanted. There are three books to date but it is assured that the success these books will generate will result I many more adventures of the lovable yet indomitable P.I. Penguin. Treat yourself and your family to this lovely little tale. The added instructions for reading aloud add to the joy and the learning. Highly Recommended.” ~ Grady Harp (Amazon Hall of Fame, Top 100 Reviewer, Vine Voice)
"This is an entertaining, rhyming, fictional story for young children. The color illustrations are outstanding. This is a terrific illustrated book that reminds me of Dr. Seuss.” ~ Bill Anderson (Amazon Top 500 Reviewer)
"This book creates a superbly fascinating world with adorable characters above and under the sea! Combined with that is a private investigator, a penguin named P. I. Penguin. His first mission is to find his parents who haven't come back home for a while. But today's mission is the adventure of finding Bella Bottlenose's missing bottle. Right there young readers/listeners will get hooked into the story and follow the clues that the "thief" left behind. It's a mystery that youngsters can imaginatively get involved.
I love the rhythm of the sentences, more poetic than prose. And the rhymes come at the right beat and are almost always natural and perfect. Take the first page: "One bright and shining summer day, young P.I. Penguin woke to say, 'I wonder if today's the day my parents come back home to stay.'" No, the lines aren't broken upon like in regular poetry, but whether read silently or aloud, the poetry comes out. I guarantee you that young kids will love to have this book read aloud to them. They will also learn these lines quickly and repeat them.
That's one of the factors that make this book very good for children who may have reading problems. The text and formatting are dyslexia-friendly. The artwork is of gentle colors so a child's mind won't become excited. There is no violence or nervous actions, like you'd find in many of today's books and animated movies. Yet, the story will hold a child's attention. So all in all, this book is a winner--I highly recommend it.” ~ Rob Natiuk (Amazon Top 1000 Reviewer)
