Description

Anna Frost had a bad feeling when her twin sister, Liz, told her she’d run off with a member of the notorious Otherworld biker gang, the Blood Ravagers. And her unease skyrockets when her sister subsequently vanishes. The police have no authority and little interest, so Anna decides to take matters into her own hands by infiltrating the group to discover for herself what happened to Liz, where she meets….

Dante, half demon, half human. A mix of two worlds, accepted by neither, he’s had no choice but to learn the hard way how to play whatever side of the fence kept him alive during his nearly 500 years of existence. Now, as second-in-command of the Blood Ravagers biker gang, his survival depends on keeping his humanity a secret. Dante’s ultimate goal is to fulfill the vows he made over two centuries ago to create a world where half-breeds can live in safety and equality.

But when sheltered schoolteacher Anna finds unexpected, white-hot passion in the arms of Dante, will her quest for the truth cost him more than he ever bargained for? Or will they find a way to save Liz – and their love – together?

Anna Frost had a bad feeling when her twin sister, Liz, told her she’d run off with a member of the notorious Otherworld biker gang, the Blood Ravagers. And her unease skyrockets when her sister...

Really enjoyed this fast read. It mixed two of my favorite genres, paranormal and motorcycle club romances. Loved Dante, who can resist a demon with heart? Anna was a little more complex and very likeable. I look forward to the two other books planned for this series.

Blood Bound was a refreshing spin on the paranormal genre. Where many stories have a theme that has been recycled countless times before, Blood Bound was an exciting, gritty and passionate tale with a enjoyable touch of dark and naughty on the side too.

Dante’s demon/human character is strong, imposing and sexy, but he also has vulnerable and tender heart which endeared him to readers with a romantic soul; while Anna’s determined, sassy and challenging side, concealed a fragile young woman, fearing her innate abilities and longing for submission to a dominant male.

Blood Bound is a fast-paced, captivating story that will definitely make you crave more from this fabulous new series.

Anna Frost is worried about her twin sister Liz and the police don’t seem to care to help her. Taking matters into her own hands Anna finds herself in the middle of the Otherworld biker gang the Blood Ravagers looking for answers.

Liz meets Dante, a half demon half human who hides his mixed bloodline but is now second-in-command of the Blood Ravagers. Dante’s key to survival for hundreds of years has been to hide his humanity but now Liz starts to bring out a side of him that could prove dangerous to both of them.

Blood Bound was a book that while it held events happening with the characters that I’m not a huge fan of I still found the story involved to be interesting enough to keep reading. With a world in which demons and magic involved along with long standing politics that bring controversy into the mix the story itself along with the writing was quite good.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Anna during the start of this story. As I mentioned there are some actions involved I’m not a fan of and I just didn’t seem to connect to her well. As the book progresses though the action picks up and that is what held my attention the most more than the characters involved.

Overall, an ok read for me, good writing with an interesting story from the paranormal genre.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

Book Review: Blood Bound by Traci Douglass

“Fifty Shades of Grey” meets “Sons of Anarchy” in Traci Douglass’s “Blood Bound.” The first book tine the Blood Ravagers series, “Blood Bound” brings us to a world where humans and Otherworlders live side by side but with an uneasy truce.

When her adventurous twin Liz went missing, Anna Frost just cannot stand aside and wait for her sister to reappear. So, she went to the last known place that Liz was sighted. What Anna did not expect was finding bad boy biker Dante very attractive and hard to resist.

Half human, half demon, Dante has a mission that started 500 years ago. Anna was a complication he cannot afford. Yet, the more he pushes her away, the more he wanted her to stay. But, pretty soon, the choice was out of his hands. Dante has to act or he will lose his life, and worse, Anna will also lose hers.

A fast-paced story that can give a Harley-Davidson bike a run for its money, “Blood Bound” is non-stop action from beginning to end whether Dante & Anna were running for their lives or while they are burning sheets in the bedroom, or dungeon, whichever was nearer.

And because even a small mistake can cost them their lives, there are times when you want to strangle Anna because she was being a brat. But, you still love her because her instincts have always proven right. Then of course, you become invested in Dante’s quest and you are on the edge of your seat because he might die before he can claim victory. You just can’t turn the pages fast enough to know what happens next.

An exciting read from beginning to end. It’s steamy and sexy while also hair-raising and fearsome at the same time. Blood Bound is Rated M for Mature due to sex and violence.

I enjoyed this book for the most part. I wasn't a huge fan of Anna and really I didn't like Dante either. It's hard for me to get past that in a book. If I don't like a characters, especially when I don't like both the MCs, I usually struggle with liking the book. Anna is searching for her sister who has gone missing. She walks into a dangerous club and literally falls into Dante's hands. Dante ends up having to keep her for awhile to keep her save. And then there's lots of BDSM sex. IF you are not into that, you will not be into this book. I had a problem with Anna just kind of forgetting her sister because she was having sex. She was so worried about her that she ran right into danger but now that she's having sex she just sets it to the side. Not cool.

The writing in the book was good. The dialogue wasn't terrible. It was pretty good actually. And I think the world the book is in is exciting and different. I just didn't like the characters.

How long can you run from your destiny? In Anna's case hopefully forever but she has to find her twin sister Liz and she fears that she will never find her again. Liz has their strange ideas about their gift and that they can use it for good but Anna can't accept that as she used it once and she killed someone. She has lived with that on her soul for so many years and that is why she wants nothing to do with Liz's wild goose chases.
The last place that Liz was seen isn't the best place on earth as it is has no laws as it is full of otherworlders and she isn't too sure that she will find Liz alive. She is about to find a whole lot of trouble and the one man that can give her all the fantasies that she will ever need. Dante just needs to keep her safe but she just can't listen and if she isn't careful she will land up dead. How can he tell her about her sister and what part that he paid in her disappearance, can he make Anna understand that he had no choice in the matter? How can he keep her safe when all he needs is her, and he knows that he can't keep her as he is only half demon and it is forbidden. He is hoping to change the laws of his people but first he needs to save as many humans as he can and if need be kill his boss as he is one evil SOB. Can he still keep Anna after this is all over? A great intense story full of action, understanding and pure evil at times. We all deserve love even when it is the last thing we have been looking for?

When Anna’s twin sister vanishes, she went to the police for assistance. But when the police refuse to take her sister disappearance seriously, Ann decided to take the matter into her own hands.

When her investigation leads to a bar, run by a biker gang, Anna comes to realize that no matter what she would find her sister and bring her back home.

Blood Bound was a fast pace, paranormal romance with an extremely good plot. With this book you must accept what goes against all that you think you know and just enjoy what the book was attending for.

After reading, I was under the opinion that the author was trying to cover so many genres that the storyline became obscure. There was sci-fi, fantasy, erotica, vampires, werewolves, demons, half-demons... everything but the kitchen sink. Felt my time was wasted reading this one!

Anna was a fifth grade school teacher but she was in Salvation to try to get information about her twin sister Liz. This was a settlement of otherworlders - The Great Reveal had taken place a decade ago and other species had revealed themselves to humans. The Otherworlders even had their own governing body called The Council who made their laws and administered otherworlder justice when needed. Liz and Anna had been identical twins but opposite in personalities. But without Liz, Anna felt like some of herself was missing. Anna had started cutting her forearms again to feel something besides the guilt of her sister’s disappearance There was a bar called Seven where a MC hung out and when Anna mentioned this bar human law enforcement wanted nothing to do with her. So Anna had to investigate herself. The last time Anna had talked to Liz she had talked about Seven and the new man she meant but Liaz wouldn’t give his name. Then Liz’s calls had stopped and she used to call every Sunday at nine p.m. . Also the mental bond Liz and Anna shared had gone quiet. Anna had emailed inquiries and only received one answer from an addict “ Forget Seven and the Blood Ravangers, they are terminal”. As Anna entered Seven all activity ceased and everyone’s attention was on her. As Anna was inching back to the door to leave she heard a voice as her who she was then Anna passed out. The man caught her as she fell. When Anna came to leave and not return but Anna said she had to find the leader of the Blood Ravagers as her sister had mentioned them and maybe he could tell her where Liz was. The man named Dante told Anna Liz was now beyond her reach. Dante somehow knew her secrets about cutting and her masochist side and her desire to be dominated.
I really enjoyed this story it really was totally awesome. I felt I was there in Salvation with Anna and Dante. For Anna to be in Seven after being warned about going back in showed how much she loved her sister and how loyal she was to her. Then to be with Dante even though he was half pain demon even though he was half human and that had a lot to do with who Dante really was. To want to free Dante’s type of species and make them accepted was a truly noble thing for Dante to want to achieve also for Liz to be on Dante’s side was great. I also loved the paranormal aspect of this story. I loved the characters and how they were portrayed and interacted. I loved the twists and turns of this story and I highly recommend.

This book was unfortunately not what I was expecting, and outside my comfort zone. My apologies for not being to finish this book for a proper review.

This was a great MC love story with a paranormal twist. Anna and Dante were made for each other but had to go through some serious pain to get to each other but it was worth it in the end.

Blood Bound is a good story – for me – unfortunately, it didn’t go beyond that “good” story feeling into the “I can’t put this down” type of book. The reason is very simple – I could not connect or like the main characters… and that matters. That’s not to say that I’m giving up on the series. I will pick up the next two stories scheduled for the Blood Ravagers series and see where it takes me. I’m not a reader who will toss out the entire series because one book didn’t capture me. *sigh* And I really wanted Blood Bound to capture me.

You have the basics of this story in the Cover Description. What you don’t get there, although it’s hinted at, is that there is a lot of sex in this story. As well as light to moderate BDSM. Now I do not have a problem with kink… some readers do, and they should be aware of that particular button going into the story.

Like I said, it’s a good story. Anna has some secrets of her own, she’s reluctant to tap into her own powers and she has issues. She spent so much energy over the years blocking the mental connection she had with her twin, that when she needs it… it’s gone. Dante is driven with his own unique secrets as well. He is sexy as sin, which should be his middle name, and not afraid to use it to get exactly what he wants. And the sex is gonna heat up your e-reader, that’s for sure.

There is an audience who will enjoy this story, usually I’d be among them but this time it simply didn’t work for me. You have to make that decision for your own reading preferences. There’s more to come in this series and I’ll be following it. The premise of the series is good, and for that I’ll keep giving it a chance.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this novel. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this story.*

The world now knows that demons and otherworld beings live among them. Anna must travel to a place that all laws are given be and demons rule. But she would go anywhere and do anything to find her missing twin sister. What she didn't expect was Dante, a half demon, and the draw to him.

The story contains violence some very steam scenes including bdsm. For mature readers only. Great story for readers who like paranormal romance with and edge and heat.

I received through NetGalley and voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
