I loved this book and have gone back to it many times. With the new year approaching it will be coming out again, as I try to refine my goals into a something workable, achievable rather than the ever expanding list of desires I currently have circulating my mind !!
I love the simple yet powerful steps to gain clarity and understanding and how effective changing your story really can be.
highly recommended for anyone ready to step into the next level, coach themselves and create a more empowered version of them selves.

This book title caught my attention right away. I was eager to read it and really stand behind the premise of the stories we tell ourselves creates the life we want.

For me, this book was bogged down by the stories she chose to tell. I was looking for less examples, less connection back to the same references, and less of the people that felt like they’re not in the same league of success as the average person. It was a little too long, too redundant, and not always relatable. Overall, I liked her message and if you’re looking for a book to help you create and find your own stories, this could be a good place to start.

We should write our own story, not others. And this book exemplifies just that! It makes you feel superior to yourself, knowing that you have the power to shape your life.

This book is truly mesmerizing, as it not only captivates your attention but also teaches you the importance of planning and taking action for your future.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for giving me the opportunity to read this empowering book.

Authentic connection is often rooted in our ability to own our story. This book is an empowering and insightful guide that encourages readers to overcome self-doubt and embrace their own narratives. With engaging storytelling and practical exercises, Hall shows us how to silence our inner critic and take charge of rewriting our lives for the better.

Choose Your Story, Change Your Life: Silence Your Inner Critic and Rewrite Your Life from the Inside Out by Kindra Hall is written by a popular keynote speaker. Step by step, readers are drawn into a transformation experience. Storytelling is a popular theme in leadership courses today. I found the writing easy to follow and the book ideas very positive. The author includes many stories to elaborate on the overall message of change. I enjoyed her writing so much, after reading this book I purchased her first book Stories That Stick!

This book continues the message of similar books such as Change Your Brain, Change Your Life by Daniel Amen, and Rewriting Your Emotional Script by Becky Harling. Similarly, the message is based on changing how we tell our stories from within.

An interesting combination of motivation and self-help. Some of what the book gets into regarding the stories we tell ourselves sounds similar to what might come up in counseling for certain issues, so be aware of that going into this, as I could see this being a plus or a minus depending on the reader. For me, I thought this was an interesting angle to approach this subject matter, and appreciated the ways to tie the benefits of changing our self-stories to other areas of our lives.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This was well written but ended up a little too repetitive in the second half for me to stay as interested. Thanks so much to NetGalley for the free copy in exchange for my honest review!

Kindra Hall walks her talk as she tells readers how to tap into the power of telling yourself a new and more empowering story about your life. As a child, Kindra was obsessed with the Wizard of Oz story but was severely disappointed upon seeing her first theater production of the show. There was no yellow brick road shown on stage!! And what was an initial letdown for Kindra became a huge insight as she got older: all real-life “Dorothy” women create their own yellow brick road, their own paths, their own unique journeys full of detours and roadblocks. This is an inspiring, quick-to-read book that will help readers view their life through a new lens of telling your story with self-compassion, wonder, and positivity.

Another motivational read by Kindra Hall! I tend to struggle a lot with getting my words out, especially now with writing reviews. I'll definitely read this again along with Stories that Stick and hopefully find my comfort is story writing.

Really enjoyed this book, and I appreciate the publisher, author, and Netgalley for allowing me to read and review. This book goes into great depth and detail about how important the stories we tell ourselves really are. With real-world examples and stories of others, this is a book on not only changing your thoughts, but the stories you tell yourself. This is an incredible, life-changing book.

Would definitely pick it up at the store, I think it’s a must for my bookshelf. As most “self-help” / motivation books at some times I found it a bit redundant but nonetheless I still really enjoyed my reading

This book is very inspiring and helps you think about how you can adjust your self-talk so you can become more successful. As someone who has a background as a psychotherapist, I would happily recommend to anyone wanting to improve the quality of their personal and/or professional life.

Kindra has a way with words and makes you think differently about how you see your own life. How do you turn the negative stories into positive. It’s not a new concept, but Kindra helps you to rewrite your story.

Once again, Kindra Hall has written a book that is entertaining, uplifting, and life-changing! After helping business owners step up their game in her last book, Stories that Stick, she’s helping everyone see what stories we have buried within us that haven’t served us. Stories that could keep us from reaching our goals, dreams, and life we want to have! Her advice is real and practical, not emotion-filled hollow motivation. You won't regret reading this book!

I am still in the process of reading this. I am trying to digest and put into practice everything that I'm learning. I love the examples and while they might not 100% exactly line up with my experience, there is always a nugget of wisdom that can be mined from each scenario. Kindra has an easily readable, and relatable style of writing. I don't feel preached to. It's like talking to that friend who tells you the brutally honest truth, but in a nice, constructive way.
