DNFed - I chose to DNF this book in the past. I am typing as a review so it doesn't harm my %. I haven't chose to pick the title back up.
This book was a book that had a great plot had a good character development. Space I like how the author in a roll of the dark aspects, but also included a lot of light element. I found the storyline to be very entertaining, and it kept me on my toes as I was reading. This book is one that I read again and I enjoyed it just as much the second time.
A fun paranormal romance stand-alone. I liked having the back drop of a mystery and crime case that pushed the plot. It allowed for a much more interesting story. The leads were fun and their romance was addicting to read especially as more information came out and it really got layered. I did not expect to become so invested in them but I was glad I did and liked the ending
I actually saw a review of this on Instagram and as I felt like a vampiric tale, I chose to read this off NG. I very much liked a fated mate trope and I really did think this was one although there was a bit of a twist to this, I think. I loved the idea of an 'underground' legal network for the supernaturals and I love that the protagonist is such a tenacious prosecutor. Loooved the alpha male vibe too AND the ending; swoon-worthy.
Good book that had a well developed storyline. I really enjoyed the way the author laid the story out for the reader.
I always love a paranormal romance and this was no exception. it was devastatingly beautiful. taking a step into Kira James's world is always an experience.
Absolutely love a true dark romance, especially if some paranormal aspect is thrown in! Loved the burning spice in this book and the different POV's kept the story flowing and alive. Can't wait for the next installment!
A dark, paranormal, romantic fantasy that shook things up from what I usually read. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting going into this book which I guess helped keep me intrigued. I will say it is very very insta lovey and at times that was a bit much for me, but if you like that then you will definitely enjoy this book.
thank you to netgalley for the advanced reading copy of embrace me darkly. This was really interesting, a good love interest, and the suspense and tension that go together. This was written so well.
I really enjoyed this deliciously dark romantic fantasy! Sara, a prosecutor is on top of the world with her most recent win, encounters Luke and after one fantastic evening together that leaves her wanting more, she discovers that hes more than he seems and that the world is a much bigger place than she knew. I absolutely couldnt put it down and the ending will leave you craving more, more, more!
I liked the plot of this book but hat trouble staying tuned into the characters. I felt like I wanted a little more chase and tension between Sara and Luke. From the get-go there was always interest between the characters but I felt like the genuine chemistry was harder to pick up on.
This ARC was provided by Netgalley in exchage for a honest review. I would rate it a three out of five,
This is a dark and exciting supernatural romance. It's insta-lovey or at least insta-lusty for those who like to get straight to the point. The FMC is a successful, no-no sense lawyer, which I liked. It's good to see a strong woman like that in a romance. I liked that the story switched POVs. It's definitely a sexy, more serious tone story.
Thank you to James, the publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC.
Luke is my favorite character in this vampire dramatic series. He’s infatuated with the infamous Prosecuting Attorney Sara Constantine. Sara is a tough determined lady whose looking for answers for the killer running through LA, as well looking for answers about her father. Together the two fight the emotions that they have for one another.
I like that the main characters are strong and independent. Their goals match with the plot to the story. Luke’s goal is Tasha. His Ward that he swore to protect. With this a paranormal saga the plot has logic that enhances the character’s motivations within the story. The characters all bring their own issues to the drama.
Doyle was getting on my nerves to much. Tyler he reminds of the scrawny little side kick who only squeaks when the boss is about to take down someone. The book is a page turner. The story captivated me with its entertainment, it’s action scenes and the undeniable romance be Sara and Lucius. There are a number of characters in this story that is linked back to the Vampire’s.
I love that the writer explained who each character was and what Fae that they are and what powers that they have as well as their weaknesses. The story is an easy read for me, which I loved. The story doesn’t read like those young adult books with the dialogue that gets on your nerves. I give this book two snaps and a snap. Until next time my fellow readers… read on.
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I found this book a little tough to get into at the beginning. Early on, Sara comes across as a little arrogant and I struggled to keep up with the constantly growing cast of characters. They all had very different perspectives and well thought out scenes, but it was all presented a bit fast for my taste with little room to breathe.
Where this book really shines is when all that information comes together. About halfway in, I started realising I was invested in Sara & Luke’s story and how it would end. I also enjoyed the friendships and other relationships that weave an interesting web around the cast. The story continued to deliver on the chemistry and the romance, without losing the strength of the plot.
Overall this was super well written, enjoyable, sexy and had a great twist that really caught me off guard, I highly recommend picking it up. ESPECIALLY if you like morally grey, hot vampire men.
Loved it!
Loved this so much! This series in general is so unique in its own ways and it really sucks you in and makes you fall in love with the characters! I've read most the books in this series and will continue to do so!
Was soll ich sagen?
Ich weiß es nicht.
Als ich das Buch beendet hab, hat mir direkt etwas gefehlt… ich war traurig.
Ich glaube, man nennt es auch Book Hangover?
Ich brauche dringend mehr :(

This concept is one I haven't really read about before - especially in a fantasy/paranormal setting. The idea of a human prosecutor trying to prove the innocence of a vampire made me really want to read this one.
The characters were interesting individually, and I also really enjoyed the complexity of the side characters.
Unfortunately, the main relationship for me was very insta-lovey. I was willing to bare with this but after the first 15-20% it got a little too much for me, with the characters acting in a way which I felt was completely unrealistic. For that reason, I had to DNF this one.
This was an enjoyable story with some of my favourite tropes used in refreshing ways. Recommend to anyone who likes brooding vampires (let's face it, who doesn't)
Another encounter between Luke and Sara. Longer story with interesting plot. In this instalment of Dark Alliance we finding out more about Luke's past and seeing him and Sara falling in love again. We also finding out few things about Sara which are surprise also for her. What will happen next?
Thankyou to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this ARC.
