Graham and Claire somehow sizzle on the page without ever letting us peek into the spice. Their friendship and banter with each other was so likable, it's impossible to hate these beautifully flawed characters. It also has my favorite micro trope, f*ckboy falls in love. A incredibly easy read that I blew through in a day. Thanks to Netgalley for this advanced copy.

I really liked the chemistry between the two leads, Claire and Graham. The story started off really light and developed into a very sweet romance between friends.

Tropes:
- Forced proximity
- Great banter
- Roommates
- Friends to lovers
- Tiny dog

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for the honest review.

Claire and Ryan are roommates who find a surprise mutual romantic connection. It was easy to see how and why they fell for one another, and I liked them together.

The story got off to a slow start, but did pick up as they started to figure out their friendship and changing relationship. Overall this was an easy, enjoyable read.

If you love a roommates to lovers, friends with benefits situation, then you’ll love this story. As someone in healthcare, I also loved the nurse & firefighter connection. Super fun romance read!

Friends to lovers
Claire and Graham are so entertaining. They have a sizzle between them that catches fire. They are both afraid to get burned and held back because of things in their past they needed to work through. I love how he wrote her emails and worked through his issues. She had to take time and make sure she was capable of dealing with her past and her future. Gertrude the little dog was a hoot. I love how his girls learned to care about each other. I would recommend this book and it does have an HEA. It is a stand alone closed door romance

This was sweet. Light. The banter was adorable. The humor was fun. The spice was closed door, so I wanted to feel the emotion a little more between the characters. The last minute breakup was resolved quickly, but I’ll always clap for the nod to therapy. I received an advance review copy for free via Netgalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I really loved the cover and I especially loved the romance in this fun and flirty friends to lovers book. Will definitely be reading more by Allison Ashley in the future.

I know for a certainty that no matter how many books I read, this will always remain precious to me. It has beautiful writing, a breathtaking story, and a powerful ending; the true sign of a fantastic novel.

This story is particularly low action plot-wise, given that the relationship develops while half the couple is in recovery from a life threatening accident. I personally didn’t mind in the slightest; it left all the heavy lifting to be done by the characters themselves and their growth throughout the story. I clocked in a huge crush on Graham starting at page 16. It was so obnoxious and pathetically adorable the way he talked about the pact. He’s such a dork, right from the get go. And Claire is easy to get a read on too, she’s constantly putting on a strong front that makes her pretty relatable.

Still, even with plenty of perks this wasn’t a groundbreaking story, I definitely saw every move coming and there wasn’t much plot to speak of. It definitely won’t be for everyone, but is good for a particular mood:
- Closed Door Romance
- Character driven relationship
- Low intensity/ Low Stakes Plot

It was okay. Nothing really new but I guess that’s not why people read romcoms like this. I just found something missing from the story but I can place my finger on it.

Set in Colorado after a mountain climbing accident, an ER nurse cares for a firefighter after he breaks his leg.

This roommate romance had forced proximity, banter, pining, and a cute dog. I really loved Graham's emails to Claire!

Friends to lovers, especially with friends with benefits, is a struggle for me, but the author did a good job moving their relationship along. And I wasn't a fan of the third act conflict. I could see why but it was so tough emotionally.

This was a great follow up to Would You Rather.

AHHHH, I love Claire and Graham. Whenever the dog starts to love Claire I knew it was game over for everyone in the house. Also, Graham falling first, forced proximity, and just everything about this book was perfection.

I'm always in for any romance that involves a firefighter and a slowburn. The Roommate Pact uses the proximity to lovers trope so well to create a fun and super sweet romance to read. The banter is funny and adorable, especially Graham's emails, and made their relationship so much more real and desirable. I just love how real both of them felt and, even though the romcom vibe was there, how real the relationship felt in the end.

This was a cute and fun romcom! Claire and Graham were great characters and I could see their chemistry. I'm not a big person on steam, but if this is centered around friends with benefits, I was hoping for a little more. I've read many books like this so it didn't blow me away with the writing, but it was still enjoyable!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC

I enjoyed this interesting romance book! Claire and Graham are roommates with a pledge to marry each other if they aren’t already married by a certain age. After Graham has a horrifying accident Claire is terrified something even worse could happen as he is into risk taking sports and is also a firefighter. After she nurses him back to health she decides to end their new tenuous romantic relationship. I enjoyed the dialogue and the growth of the characters throughout the book. The friendship to lovers trope is well developed. Definitely pick this up if are looking for a romantic read.

Not for me. As with Ashley's first book, I wanted to like this and did like the concept, but in execution I found it basic and full of cardboard characters who felt utterly unlike real people.

This book was so fun, we follow Nurse Claire and Firefighter Graham who make a roommate pact - a friends-with-benefits arrangement as long as they’re single. However, Graham gets injured at work and Claire becomes his caregiver… and that’s where the chemistry comes into play.

I absolutely loved this book, I thought the audiobook was fantastic. I loved both of the characters, their chemistry was so strong throughout the book. I also loved Graham’s grumpy dog in this!

The forced proximity is super strong in this book with Claire watching over Graham. I loved the witty banter between the two and I’m so glad we got Dual POV. I have yet to read the previous book in this series, but this could be read as a standalone.

This was such a fun romcom, I flew through it with how intrigued I was with their chemistry. The banter was absolutely top-notch in this book, I also loved the whole roommates to lovers trope. I would absolutely recommend this one!
